I had no idea how to replace the battery, it looked very complicated. It was late in the evening, so I pulled in the Oreilly Auto Parts store in Hopkins, MN, and Noah offered to help me. Although he didn't know, he tried and took the whole thing apart, figured it out and put it back together. Thank you Noah SO MUCH for such an outstanding customer service!

RECALL REVIEW: I've…read morebeen putting off doing anything about my Toyota's recalled parts for... long enough that Toyota sent me a letter saying that I literally could die. Oopsies! So I searched for participating dealerships and ended up at Luther Brookdale (mostly because I knew MT Noodles is nearby). I made the appointment and even modified it online with ease. When I pulled into the Service area, I was promptly greeted and handed over the keys to my deathtrap. Richie met me inside and quickly registered me and my car, and even discovered that I was overdue for another recall that they could add to my complimentary order. I was also lucky enough to score a free check engine light diagnostic promo, which I needed (and usually costs $100 there)! I was in and out of there easily, Richie kept me updated on the progress, and they offered a rental car but I opted for the free shuttle pickup the next morning. Donnie, the shuttle driver was so friendly and sweet and knew some great shortcuts too! I highly recommend this location for your recall needs, at least. Oh and the waiting room has free wifi, beverages, and even baked goods.

I have to hunt someone down to get my car back. - came in for scheduled appointment service, I wait 3 hours, ask about status of update, they haven't touched car. Another 1.5 hours until finished. All for an oil change and to swap a battery. Why bother making appointments???? - vehicle came in for crash, car in shop for 2 weeks, they return the car with unbalanced tires. Gets fixed. Car still has issues, they refuse to have a different tech look at it. Would not recommend to a friend or family member.

I had to wait a few days as I was waiting for the car. After the work, I was told by the lead guy that it was easy to replace, and it took less than 15 minutes for the job. When I was presented with the bill, I realized that this shop is unethical and fraudulent. I was charged over $60 to pull out an easy to reach signal bulb and replace with a new one. The lead bragged about how easy it was as he computed how he would rip me off. Women, do not use this shop as they will pull a Neanderthal move and quote 1 price, then fraudulently charge another price.

The place will also wrench on your car if needed but I've never used them for that. The other odd little quirk? Their 88 octane gas is cheaper then the 87 octane gas. Odd? Yes. Do I question it? The team was very thorough with the diagnosis of the main issue, which turned out to require a new engine. The team listened to me even though the repair was to cost about what the car was worth - due to some other things going on in my life, I just wanted my car back in working order. The service team diligently pursued finding a used replacement engine for me to attempt this repair, but were very honest that both replacements had the same issue at least as bad as my existing engine. I appreciate that the team went the extra mile trying to get my car back into a shape that would meet my goal of being able to drive it for a few more years, and conferred with me each step of the way. In the end, I paid only for the work they had done to diagnose the issue and get my car starting reliably again. I would trust these folks with any repairs I need in the future for certain. They listened to me, were honest about the issues they encountered, and gave me good advice through every step.

I dropped my car off for a front end alignment, which they charge $159.95 for. Fair enough…read more I was told that during their pre-alignment inspection they discovered that the passenger side outer tie rod end was worn and needed to be replaced in order for the alignment to be done. This makes sense, so I said ok go ahead and do it. I was then told that with the alignment and tie rod end replacement, the total cost would now be $565.04! I decided to do it because my car was already there in the shop and it needed to be done, however this price is insane for the work that was done. They charged me $98.92 for the tie rod end, which is a very large markup. They charge $239.81 PER HOUR for labor, which is completely crazy. I was charged for an hour of labor, when I know for a fact that changing out one single tie rod end should only take a decent mechanic 15-20 minutes. It is ridiculously easy. Finally, they charged me $57.83 for "RO Fees" which include recycling, environmental, shop supplies and hazardous waste disposal. This makes no sense to me because I had no fluids changed that needed disposal, and the only shop supplies they would have needed for a tie rod end and an alignment would be paper towels, maybe a dab of anti-seize, maybe a pair of nitrile gloves. Nearly $60 is straight up robbery for the job they did for me. Yes, they are friendly. Yes, I think the work they do is fine. What they charge, however, is not reasonable and I think they are taking advantage of the many people who need their car fixed and don't know a whole lot about mechanical work. This is why I try to do most of my own repairs, but some things (like alignments) a guy just can't do in his driveway.
