HORRIBLE! I needed a battery since my car died and I knew nothing about cars so the young man at the counter was going to help me. All of a sudden this woman who happens to be the manager at this location comes out and tells him to go back inside. She stated that its against their policy to help with changing CAR batteries. Something about the parking lot not being their property? This has to be FAKE because I went in there months before and another young man helped me out with changing the battery with NO Problem. This woman was miserable and should get fired. How is Autozone going to sell car batteries without installing it? I never heard of that before especially because all other locations but this one does it. This review is long overdue by a few days. Exactly 3 days ago my son and I went to this Autozone located on Central Avenue in Yonkers. We had planned on buying a couple of tools to remove our gas cap to replace it with one that has a key. My son had a horrible time trying to remove it and employee David was so kind and sweet and he removed it in a matter of seconds. He gave us great advice as well how to deal with the gas cap. Wonderful young man! Yesterday we returned because the gas cap purchased was no good so my son wanted to return to AutoZone to see if they had a more suitable cap. Brent F helped my son and he to was absolutely wonderful!! I will definitely return with my son if we are in need of anything. read more

I highly recommend going any place else. All I needed was some antifreeze for my car. I couldn't get waited on and found it myself. Then I couldn't get checked out. I have what I need and all the employees were still running around looking for the wrong items. People leaving because they couldn't get help they needed. I finally put my antifreeze on the counter only to,be snapped at and told I would have to wait. I left it there and walked out as the help was still arguing with me saying I would have to wait to be checked out. Went right down the street to NAPA and was in and out in less than 5 minutes with what I needed. Poor customer service. read more

I absolutely hate this location... the staff is useless and if I could give 0 stars I would. Went in today for tie rod ends, the clerk told me the cost would be $80 my mouth dropped I asked if they had anything less expensive they told me those were the least expensive..which was an all out lie. They carry about 6 different brands of outter tie rods ranging from as little as $13.99 to their most expensive $36.99. Which is what he sold me. After going online and checking their website I noticed the variation. And immediately demanded a refund... your store is trash..your employees are trash... the manager who allowed this to happen is also garbage... for all those reading this..Go see Gary at bridge auto...a man u can trust! read more

I needed a headlight for my car, it's 8:42pm On Yelp this location on Central Ave says it closes at 10. I call and ask the person who answered the phone if they had the bulb for my car in stock, he did. I pull up at 9:05, Byron tells me " sorry we are closed " I let him know I just spoke to someone who confirmed what I needed but not that they closed at 9. He proceeds to get the manager Dami . I explained how I had driven from White Plains because the site said 10pm. Dami said to Byron to let me in. I purchased my bulb that I couldn't put in bc it started pouring rain lol ... Horrible, dishonest staff!!! Car battery died on my way to work and, having had good experiences with every AutoZone I had ever been to when living in Denver, drove to the closest AutoZone on the way to work. I stated that I wanted the cheapest battery available after the sales rep tried to sell me a battery for $120. He then suggested a battery for $110 and before I had even agreed to purchase it walked away to retrieve the battery. I saw a different battery on the computer screen in stock for $100. "You want that one?" "Yes, I told you I want the cheapest one." I explained I was used to car batteries costing $60-$70. He insisted that no battery prices were that low because of some load of crap about lead prices going up. Then walked away again to retrieve the $100 battery. At which point I noticed he had $70 batteries in stock. What part of "cheapest battery" does this guy not understand? And how disrespectful to lie to my face!!! Do these guys work on commission? I finally settle on the $70 battery at which point he handed it to me and told me that this store is the only AutoZone in the area whose staff is "not allowed" to install batteries. Pretty certain that was another lie because the sales rep was too lazy. How difficult is it to get a set of tools and spend 5 minutes to change a battery for a customer that's trying to get to work? Not having tools available, I drove to work after getting a jump only to return to my car at the end of the day with another dead battery. What poor customer service and what disrespect to be lied to regarding prices and availability. Save your money and your sanity and go to Walmart. Never again!!! read more

Don't trust them telling you they have your part. Even after claiming "yes i checked the shelf and it is here" it was not.

This particular autozone will not lend you a scanner to read a check engine code. They say it's against landlord policy.

if you happen to be on central ave in yonkers and need motor oil , anti freeze , wiper blades , then why not auto zone. free outdoor parking and it's usually not crowded . don't expect the folks who work here to have heavy knowledge on car parts but if you have the make , model and year it's most likely they can help you but for me i usually get my replacement bulbs, and the other stuff i mentioned above. it's hard not to notice what's on sale cause it's plastered all over the exterior windows. i got what i needed and was out the door and i did pick up a heavy duty jack as well cause dont we all need 2 in the trunk . the typical a to z products that all or most auto parts shops carry but if you need expert advice i recommend your local mom and pops auto parts store. read more
