When I first walked in and sat down I felt like this place should be on Restaurant impossible. Let's just say that It doesn't give you a clean feeling and the staff isn't the most attentive. Because we read good food reviews about the food we stayed and we were very happy with our food. Avocado salad was really good, fresh and made with a nice spring mix. Ordered a dozen oysters steamed, we like them better raw but I was going to avoid raw ones here (the cleanliness thing). They were awesome! Perfectly steamed and the butter/garlic/Parmesan was a perfect compliment without overpowering the oyster. On to the main event and got the lovers boil with Cajun seasoning. They had many levels but everything after the Cajun just seemed like too much for good seafood. It was Amazing! This place needs to do a couple things. First, needs to move out of a desolate strip mall. They are basically the only thing open in a full block strip mall. And... They need to clean the place immediately and I mean every nook and cranny. It bordered on gross. The meal was delicious and if they were in a stand alone building I'd think it would kill. There's other places that serve this type of cuisine and also delicious around the area and due to the lack of cleanliness and good service here I would pick another place first. Typically, I'm a go somewhere twice to give a review, reviewer. Sometimes. I make exceptions. Autums's Crab: 1628 S Fiske Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955 Yea, it was perfect. Checks all the boxes: Shady parking lot, empty/rundown corner shopping plaza, no neighbors, behind a CVS...Wait a minute... Head inside to the nautical themed inside and get ready..... On a Sat @ 3, there was only one other table occupied. Brought our gloves in (tip - get some gloves, leave in car for these occasions), and got to the menu. Ahh - here's the checkboxes I was really referring to. Fried pickles to start (with a really good sauce), small salad to break up the butter to come, and reasonable options (including clams and mussels!) for the seasonings to come. Got the snow crab, mussels, sausage, and shrimp (offer head/headless - went headless) in the "The bomb" (combo of everything) sauce - medium spicy please. Fired pickles come out - nice portion for $3, salad comes (only negative - food service Ranch dressing (yuck!)). In a few minutes, the "bag" arrives. Server then proceeds to dump out the bag of goodness into an aluminum tray (never seen this done before at a restaurant - but FABULOUS idea) and we get to looking. Shrimp are big (guessing 16-20 sizing), snow crab on the smaller size though, and a few broken muscles (hmmm). A little quality control in the back would help here, but onto the taste... And let me digress for a minute - normally these type restaurants are a salt-lick - that is - with the seasonings and the salted butter - you drink (and swell up) a LOT. Not here. Seasoning blend was perfect. I'm not a salt lover to begin with and it was perfect for me. Heat was barely noticeable, but there, so I can make it to the end without regrets. Food was cooked perfectly. Potatoes and corn (4 of each!) look to have been cooked separately, and added into the sauce, so they retained a separate taste profile. Dig into the bottom of the sauce and get those great seasoning bits. I'd dare say all the portions were right over a lb if my mental scale was calculating. They have cheap food service gloves in case you forget, bibs as well (just use them, trust me). Good stuff, and a very nice surprise. It's a big place - go fill up those tables, it's worth it. Now the landlord just needs to fill those other spots up with more food options and make this corner a destination... read more

Just finished eating with friends at Autumn's Crab, one thing we all agreed on was that it was expensive and awful. We were excited to try what we hoped would be a good seafood experience, not to be. There were four of us in our party and each one of us were dissatisfied. The crawfish were old and tough, most were barely eatable and remained on the plate. They were out of blue crab, the only local fresh crab on the menu! How can you not have fresh local blue crab and call yourself a crab house?! Calamari looked like onion rings with small unidentifiable crunchy clusters of breading I guess? The only seafood here is frozen and imported from China or Vietnam. Our crawfish sure looked tired from the trip, mostly head, tough, rubbery, previously frozen.Food came out at different times, server was surly and moody,food terrible, and overpriced. Our server wasn't having a good night it seemed, abrupt, insisting, and seemed pissed off we didn't praise the food? Don't let the reviews fool you, this place is terrible. WOW!!!! What an amazing find! My family and I drove from Disney to Vero Beach and searched seafood along the way - then popped up Autumn's crab! Just a few mins off of I95. Don't judge a book by it's cover! The plaza is old but the food is AMAZING! Crab, lobster, oyster, calamari, anything you could think and all tastes amazing! Steamed oysters with the bomb sauce was my favorite dish!!!! It is a MUST STOP if driving down the I95 or in the area! Also, the woman waiting on us was personable and amazing! Wow. I'm from New Jersey and a big crab lover! While I love snow crab legs, I'm partial to blue crabs. I'm spoiled in NJ with family friends who catch and make their own and my go-to restaurant for garlic blue crabs, so every time I visit my dad, I look for a place for blue crabs! This was the first time I saw Autumn's crab pop up and I am SO glad it did!! I felt hopeful from the positive reviews on yelp and google, and let me tell you, not only did it meet my expectations but it exceeded them. I ordered take out and got a half dozen of blue crabs with the mild Cajun sauce and wowwwww it was DELICIOUS. The crabs were large and had a lot of meat to them. Thought the food was decent. But very over priced in my opinion. My girl friend also received some shrimp that was very undercooked. They were nice enough to offer her a free cheesecake. However, I was already disappointed with the service because no one even checked on us to see if we were satisfied with the meal. We had to get up from our seat after waiting 10 minutes to go tell the server that we weren't happy with the meal. This place has potential, but they have some issues to work out. read more

I asked for no seasonIng on my seafood. It arrived as ordered, but I now understand the purpose of their sauces is to mask the disgusting, Asian sourced, frozen seafood used. My corn on the Cobb was from frozen and molded inside and the po were not fresh. We were told they had real butter. When I pressed the server siting allergiess she asked the kitchen and returned to teLl us they use liquid margarine. Nestled in a run down strip mall is this little gem. Everything is fresh, delicious, and affordable. And they have happy hour -- 2 for 1 beer, mostly domestics. They serve your order in its own individual steamed bag, if you order steamed, and it's seasoned perfectly. Their combos are 1/2 pound of 2 of your choice treats. I had the snow crab and shrimp, in garlic butter. Served with corn and baby potatoes, also in the sauce. So glad we found this spot! read more

First-time patronizing tonight AT THE VERO BEACH LOCATION (NOT ROCKLEDGE). As soon as we sat down we ordered our food when the waiter came to ask what we wanted to drink. Our food came out in 20 minutes. The two adults got steamed shrimp and lobster. But the kids food never came out. They got fried shrimp and chicken tenders. We sat there and waited and wondered when the kids would get their food when they were starving. I had to flag the waiter down to ask him and he said he'll check on it. It took 20 minutes later for the kids to get their food. 40 minutes for their food. We felt bad and waited for their food so our Seafood got cold. I asked to speak to the manager. I don't know how many managers there are but it was a young Asian woman. We were very calm in our demeanor with this waiter and manager. I told her what happened and that the food should come together or the kids food before hours. Also said our food is cold and she offered to reheat it. You do not reheat fresh seafood. She also gave the lame excuse that fried food takes longer. It really didn't seem like she cared. I explained this was our first visit and a bit disappointing. The waiter ignored us most of the time. He went to others table several times asked if they needed anything. He waited till we were done and no offer of drinks or dessert or anything. I had to re flag him down to get a container for our food. And when he did come the one time we had the credit card sitting there and he did not offer to take it and run the bill so we had to flag him down to get the check. I don't expect anything for free but I expected that manager to show her appreciation for our business in some way whether it was take the drinks off or ice cream for the kids who had to starve 20 minutes past when our food came and us eating cold seafood. The waiter seemed like a nice young man but he is absolutely clueless about serving. And that manager is a lame manager who should have acted like she cared about our business. There are too many restaurants in Vero Beach that serve good seafood and great service and part of what you pay for is the service/experience. I will give credit where credit is due, the seafood was very good. however, I work too hard for my money to give it to an establishment that doesn't value my business. Get a new mgr and train the staff better. read more
