OK. For a small place with a pretty basic menu, the flavors that this restaurant serves are very good. I had a lomo saltado, which seemed to be the usual dish served across countless restaurants, except that the flavors were exceptional. The same applied to another dish I ordered, an arroz chaufa de pollo, which looked the same as any other one made in Florida, but it didn't taste the same. For this reason, I'm coming back to try the seco de res. As someone being born in Peru, I appreciate these twists in flavor, and I recognize this place as a very special restaurant. Been looking for a local place in MLB to eat some Peruvian food. We moved here from Miami where Peruvian restaurants where everywhere to MLB where there are very few and haven't been able to find one until today. El Buzo is about 12 miles from my location so not too bad. It has almost 5 star reviews so why not. We drove here today and I was pleasantly surprised. Small, casual restaurant. Friendly service and good food. Although I was hoping that had one of my favorite dishes, Tacu Tacu which they didn't, I enjoyed what I chose. For appetizers we ordered Ceviche mixto and papa a la huancaina. For the main dish we ordered a lomo saltado and seco res of beef stew. And to finish off a chocolate mousse. Very fresh and tasty, we ordered it spicy and it was great for us - very authentic and delicious. We also tried the veg and chicken fried rice, both were great - very tasty. It's a small, casual place with seating in the Publix strip mall; easy to find. Lots of parking. My only caution is for picking up the ceviche; when I picked it up they had put the ceviche container on top of the rice containers so the ceviche was going to get warm; I separated it so that didn't happen but just be careful if you like cold ceviche and are ordering pick up. read more

We even ordered an extra personal sized ceviche since we wanted more of it. Looking for a great dining spot on a Friday evening with family including 2 kids, and we picked El Buzo because of the unique menu that looked somewhat risky (Go Big or Go Home!) but also had some variety and good kids options. I say risky because this isn't the traditional beach cuisine that we're used to - fried fish, pizza, or Italian. Upon arrival, we were a bit worried. There's not a ton of seating and we had a group of 6, plus the restaurant interior and exterior just doesn't give off that "incredible dining" vibe. But, we were there and I figured the food would speak for itself. The service was incredibly friendly. We were waited on by a young lady from Columbia who was still working on her English and a male of similar age who seemed a bit more confident with the language. Both were super sweet and I enjoyed speaking to them in Spanish as they practiced English with my family. That's a lot to read to get to the point - this is such a quaint little place with INCREDIBLE food! We ordered the calimari and tuna as appetizers, both were amazing. Our big foodie in the group said it was the best calimari he's ever had, and the green cilantro sauce was fantastic - I hate cilantro but it was very light and flavorful! The tuna was absolutely my favorite, seared perfectly and deliciously seasoned. We ordered the ceviche mixto with medium spice level, it was absolutely the best ceviche I've ever had! Definitely had the medium spice, and fantastic, fresh seafood. The lomo saltado mar y Tierra (stir fry beef & shrimp) with the Peruvian fried rice was an absolute hit with the family (2 completely clean plates) as was the perfectly cooked and flavorful pescado a la parilla (grilled fish). This restaurant is absolutely full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and incredible preparation. The kids had fish nuggets and chicken nuggets. These were not the microwave stuff, this was REAL fish and chicken breaded in house. The fact that my daughter said it was the best fish she's ever had, and my very picky son ate all of his chicken without complaining, was an absolute miracle. Finished off with a sweet and delicious tres leches dessert, it was absolute bliss. For 3 beers, an appetizer, 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals, we landed around $95 before tip.
