We interviewed three other architects before choosing Broadhurst Architects to design a new 750 sq. foot addition replacing a smaller, inefficient addition for our 1925 built home. The project also included the remodeling of the existing kitchen, a new back porch and interior door and molding upgrades to the original house. I am sure we weren't the easiest customers to work with. Jeff Broadhurst and his team had a huge challenge. I had dreams of large, dedicated spaces built within a tiny footprint. After listening to our quirky idiosyncrasies and complicated list of must haves, Jeff presented many creative options at different price points. Once we reached design Eureka, we sent it out to bid. We chose a contractor Broadhurst had never worked with that I had brought to the table. The contractor seemed agreeable and capable but after construction began it became obvious he had made only a cursory review of the scope of work prior to submitting the winning bid. Jeff and Hisao's professionalism extended to managing a difficult construction process with our disengaged contractor and his lackadaisical crew. We would never have made it through the process without their guidance and their many interventions. Now that construction is over, the end results far exceed our expectations. We have beautiful spaces that are much larger than I could ever have imagined. The attention to detail Broadhurst put into the molding and finishing choices shine through. We couldn't be happier and love sitting in our new spaces admiring the design and function. Everyone who enters our home immediately experience the "Wow Factor". We would use Broadhurst Architects again in a heartbeat and would be happy to recommend him to anyone in need of a patient, proficient, kind and extremely talented architectural team.

I…read morewas on the board at my previous condo for 18 years, I have been on my current condo board for eight years, and Home Perfection Contracting is the best and most professional contractor I have ever worked with. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. I'm more than happy to give advice and guidance on code matters or general best practices, even if you are hiring other people."
