Mayflower Construction was an exceptional contractor to work with to remodel our primary bathroom. It was a turnkey experience from beginning to end. The project was incredibly overwhelming for me at first, Originally I was working with different handymen, contractors, going tile stores, etc. and trying to do it myself to save money, but found that it was daunting, and the time I was spending to pull all of the different pieces together was very frustrating, not to mention, trying to figure out a timeline so that all the moving parts would come together. It would have taken far longer and been more frustrating to go this route. Upon meeting with Nicole, our design consultant at Mayflower Construction Group, my husband and I were immediately put at ease. She led me through the entire process and how it would work in a timely manner and helped us get to a comfortable budget that worked for both parties. Mayflower was willing to help us with pricing and get to a number that was more than I intended to spend but lower than what they would have normally charged for the project. Going to their showroom and being able to put together the tiles, accessories, paint colors, shower doors, etc.... was incredibly helpful to visualize the look of the bathroom and how it would come together. Nicole was even gracious enough to source items that they did not have (my fancy bidet toilette, with all the bells and whistles) and incorporated it into the design. Mayflower took care of procuring all materials and took that responsibility off our hands. Our project manager met with us at regular intervals to answer all our questions and address any concerns we had during construction. Their construction team was incredibly professional and courteous. The construction team was exceptionally good about limiting the impact of the construction, including putting protective material on floors and stairs outside the construction area and using curtaining material to limit the spread of dust. At the end of each day, the team did a thorough cleaning of the material staging area and the areas that they walked through. The finished bathroom has an updated modern look that is harmonious with the design of the house. When my wife and I moved into our home in early 2014, we knew that the first major renovation project we'd need to tackle was a complete overhaul of the kitchen. As is typical of 1960s Del Ray duplex homes, the original galley kitchen was tiny with very little cabinet storage and counter space. While we didn't take care of the problem immediately, over the years as our family grew, the kitchen became a great source of stress as we were bursting at the seams with food and various small appliances littered everywhere because we'd run out of storage space to hide them. We decided to leave our house for a month and stay with relatives so that the project could be completed quickly. Even from 500 miles away, we never once worried about any aspect of the renovation because our project manager, Ryan, updated us often with photos and explanations and was always prompt with answers to our questions. We came home to the kitchen of our dreams with double the amount of storage and counter space plus all sorts of modern luxuries that make the room an oasis now rather than a burden. Alex and the team at Mayflower Construction have done several jobs for us, both in our first house, and our current home. We have done a couple of modest bathroom renovations, and basement renovations, but this time we were planning on completely gutting our kitchen. The house that we currently live in was built in 1964, and most of the living areas have been renovated, but the kitchen, which is the center piece of this house, was completely original, and completely obsolete. We have been wanting to do this kitchen renovation for some time now. Most of our friends & family that had their kitchens done did not have positive experiences with their contractors. It definitely made us a little nervous about the issues that could come up during a project such as this, but after meeting with Alex on site, and then meeting again in their showroom in Tysons, we felt much more comfortable. We contracted with Mayflower Construction in 2024 to complete a long overdue renovation of our kitchen and laundry room. Mayflower Construction Group (MCG) was the fourth renovation team we spoke with and we are so pleased that we kept searching until we found it. MCG is a design-build firm and from initial meetings with the designer, Nicole, to working with the project manager, Alex, our experience was excellent. Nicole was a great listener who offered creative solutions and gave us a clear plan. We liked that if we did not decide to move forward with the design, we could buy it for a reasonable price. Other firms asked for much greater up-front design fees that cannot be recuperated and they won't give you the plans! The work crew led by Francisco was brilliant. They were so hard-working and were true craftsmen. We have an older home that has settled, but the team had the skill to make everything look square and tight. They cleaned up every day and were always courteous and careful not to damage any part of the house. Alex runs a tight ship and we saw him frequently checking for quality. We could tell the construction team respects him. Neighbors were impressed that the teams worked from early morning till evening every day including Saturdays. One thing we learned (our first home and first reno) was that it is useful to consider not only the tile selection that MCG has in its show room, but also visit dedicated tile stores if you want to see more options. A bonus for doing the renovation was that we discovered ruined subflooring after the old shower had been removed. The team not only replaced the sub-floor, but later opened the ceiling downstairs to ensure that the joists were completely dry and in good shape. We appreciated that extra care and recommend MCG to other homeowners. MCG demonstrated to us that it is an honorable, skilled renovation firm. read more

We just used Mayflower Construction Group for the second time; the first was to completely gut and rebuild a bathroom; this time it was a bathroom renovation.  This job was as flawless as the first - - lovely interior decor advice, superlative work, on-time crew, no slow-downs due to missing supplies, etc. Nicole Eaddy was a tremendous help, again, in putting together a plan based on the size and limitations of our bathroom; we went in with an idea of what we wanted, but changed our minds when she showed us some other styles.  She is also very easy to reach; no waiting for days or even hours when there is an issue or question. The crew:  a great group of very skilled men; their work is painstaking, and just a pleasure to see.  They set up plastic barriers to keep dust to a minimum; they cover any floor they might be walking on, and remove any dust and debris before leaving every day.  They are also very courteous and pleasant. Supplies:  they are ordered BEFORE the job starts, so the work time is continuous; no "sorry, we don't have the (fill in the blank)". Sticking to a deadline:  astonishing.  The first time we used Mayflower we had a time crunch; a family was coming to stay for almost two months, so we needed to have it done in a short period of time, or put it off.  Mayflower assured us they could do the job on time, and they did.  We had had a very bad experience years earlier, with a local and very well-known bath and kitchen company; on that job, we were told it would take about 3 months; it actually went on for 18 nightmarish months.  Mayflower met their deadlines, and in fact, beat them by a few days each time! My wife and I built a vacation home 3 hours away from northern Virginia at Deep Creek Lake. We started the kitchen design with a person located near the vacation home, but we were not satisfied and decided to look for a new kitchen designer. We found Mayflower by searching the Internet. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism and attention to detail we received from Mayflower. Our original plan was to simply pay for a Mayflower design and purchase the cabinetry and granite through other suppliers near the vacation home; however, Mayflower asked for the opportunity to provide us with a price. We were pleasantly surprised at the attractive pricing and decided to have Mayflower purchase the materials for our new kitchen. Next, we were very impressed with the attention to detail for the shipment. Employees from Mayflower drove all the way to Deep Creek Lake the day the materials arrived to conduct a complete inventory to ensure everything was as expected. Our general contractor installed the cabinets. On a couple occasions he called Mayflower to get some clarifications about the design. Mayflower was very helpful in answering those questions. My wife and I were very impressed that the coordination between two different companies went so smoothly. In fact, the general contractor was so pleased with the quality of the design and ease of working with Mayflower that he intends to work together on other kitchen projects. An opportunity presented itself for me to do more than replace the toilet in my powder room so I began searching for construction companies for a complete renovation. During my travels to and from work, I saw a Mayflower Construction Group work truck. I called Mayflower along with two other companies to get quotes and chose Mayflower after meeting Nicole. She came out to my townhome with a portfolio that spelled out their various bathroom packages and the services they offer. My visit to their showroom was fun and stress free due to Nicole's professionalism, good design eye and patience! I decided to order the bathroom vanity, light fixture mirror and shelving from a well known furniture company and the rest of the bathroom items were chosen with Nicole's guidance. The foreman, Anibal, and on-site work staff were very professional and the quality of their work was excellent. We did experience a delay with the project due to the furniture company changing the delivery of the vanity several times. The office manager, Lexi, kept me informed and scheduled the follow up visit for the vanity installation as soon as it was delivered to their showroom. Due to the unknown specs of the vanity, a plumbing change order had to be included, however it was communicated to me immediately and they were very understanding on the pricing. I love my renovated powder room. I was extremely happy with Mayflower Construction Group. From the first meeting to the final reveal of my bathroom remodel they were responsive, timely and very pleasant to work with. I had a large bathroom project and was uncertain about colors and tile selections. The designer at Mayflower was helpful regarding current trends in bathrooms as well as guiding me toward the right size and color for tile, countertops, mirrors and cabinets. The crew was so great. They worked LONG hours everyday and cleaned up each night. They were so unobtrusive and quiet, I could not believe it. I felt completely comfortable having them in the house for several weeks. There were some special things that the Mayflower team did as well. They built a custom cabinet to match my vanity for me, at a very reasonable price. I could not have bought a cabinet for what they charged me to build it. In addition, Mayflower really helped me by getting the job done prior to the holidays, so I could host my family and not have construction items around. I know this caused their crew to work extra hours and I was very grateful that they were willing to do it. Their pricing was in line with other vendors that I talked to. Mayflower Construction exceeded our expectations from the very beginning. At the onset, we took bids from 3-5 firms for our master suite/bathroom renovation. Mayflower immediately went above and beyond the others by conducting a thorough walkthrough and interview, invited us to visit their showroom for a meeting, and worked with us diligently through the quote process, which included a design exercise that no other offeror provided. This was far different from the others that sent cost estimates with no detail; the fact that Mayflower was comfortably in the middle of the pack, cost-wise, sealed the deal (Nicole worked extremely hard to get us everything we wanted at the budget we needed). I still can't say enough great things about their design consultant, Nicole. She was absolutely amazing and provided top-tier customer service throughout the entire project. She was the main point of contact for me, and her attention to detail and professionalism made the process so much smoother. The team did a solid job completing the work and even managed to pull together resources to ensure it was finished within a month, minimizing the time I had to spend out of my home. After the project was completed, they were quick to address any issues I pointed out, like a paint discrepancy that was corrected promptly. However, while they did repaint the area, the correction wasn't perfect, as you can still tell where the adjustment was made. The only major hiccup was a measurement error for my refrigerator space. They mismeasured by three inches, which meant the fridge I ordered couldn't be installed as expected. I had to order a specific size fridge, which worked out in the end, but it was an avoidable inconvenience. And again Nicole swooped in and saved the day helping find the specific size fridge. Overall, while there were a few bumps along the way, the project was completed on time, and Nicole's incredible customer service made the experience much more manageable especially it being my first reno and I appreciate their willingness to fix issues. read more

We first met with Nicole to talk through the design and construction process for a kitchen remodel. As we were envisioning the new kitchen, we realized that we wanted to expand the scope of work into the dining and living rooms to make for a more cohesive look and open up a wall for better flow. Nicole was very flexible with us and quickly adjusted the plan and was very conscientious of our budget. For us, the planning process with Nicole was key- she created the renderings of the kitchen and we mocked up our space to really get a feel for the final dimensions. While the planning seemed to go quickly the construction went even faster. The field team, led by Alex and Frank, was wonderful! We cannot speak highly enough of Frank and the team; they were efficient, highly skilled and kept the space really clean, and perhaps most importantly, kept to the timeline. Part of our project was removing older linoleum tiles and replacing with hardwood and Alessandro did a great job of blending new oak flooring with the original 60's flooring without any seams. Elmer made us a custom iron stair railing that really elevates the space. We will definitely be using the Mayflower team again as we update other aspects of our home because we feel that the pricing was fair and the craftmanship was excellent. read more

We engaged Mayflower back in 2021 for a kitchen remodel that turned out far better than we could have ever imagined. When it came time for a makeover of our master bathroom in 2023, we knew who to call! As with our kitchen, the master bathroom in our Del Ray, VA duplex is TINY and therefore has very little storage space. In fact, other than a small medicine cabinet, there was no storage at all to speak of. So this was priority number one. Other than that, we just wanted an updated shower/bath with modern fixtures, a more powerful toilet, and better lighting. After another wonderful design consultation with Nicole (she is the best!), we scheduled the work to be done when we'd be out of town for a couple of weeks. This is the second remodel that Mayflower has done in our absence and they take tremendous care to keep our house clean and return it to its original state when done. Again, we returned to a bathroom that looked better than we ever expected! Now there is a ton of storage, excellent lighting, and utterly gorgeous blue tile to view every day. We couldn't be happier! Working with Mayflower has been amazing. It's all been so easy! I needed two bathrooms and a powder room completely redone. My design consultant (Jeromy, super nice guy) came over on my schedule, sent plans for the remodel quickly, we picked out colors and styles in their showroom, and that was all I had to do. I didn't have strong feelings about the bathroom designs and I tend to suffer from decision paralysis so Jeromy took care of everything. No stress, no fuss. I can't speak highly enough of the construction crew. The installation is professionally done and looks great. It is obvious that Mayflower doesn't cut corners in their hiring any more than they do in the rest of their work. Additionally, the crew takes great care to make sure that the areas they are passing through are protected and everything is spotless at the end of the day. I also really appreciated that Mayflower are able to give flat pricing for the work - all of the other contractors I talked to had many, many caveats about how the price might go up but with Mayflower I knew exactly what the final charge would be, and it was the most reasonable quote I got.
