Our 11 year old pom-poo ate something he shouldn't have on NYE and was really sick on New Years Day. We were a lil panicked and worried. We decided to take him in to the medical center at 1 am. To our surprise Cat was very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable leaving our pet there during a scary or emotional time. The whole team was very professional, super communicative, and comforting during each step of care. We are very grateful for this office and easing us through this scary process. So our cat Charlie was having a hard time breathing. It was diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection and thus needed medication to treat it. Thankfully she's doing better now. All that being said, let me get to the review. Upon walking in we were greeted by two very nice front office receptionists. They showed genuine concern for our cat and immediately got us into a room. Our tech Ashley popped in quickly and got all the vitals. Not only was she efficient but friendly and showed genuine concern. Ashley made what would have normally been a worrying visit to the vet a lot easier to handle. She talked to and treated Charlie as if Charlie was her on cat. It's hard to find good techs like her. When the doc came in Ashley gave him all the info he needed to make the appropriate diagnosis. Thank you to everyone that helped Charlie. She's getting better everyday and if she wasn't a cat that hates everyone (including us) she'd say thank you herself. read more

Employee answering the phones Sunday (11/10/2019) describes me as "snappy" on my Patient Report over simply asking why an extra exam would need to be done on my dog after diagnosis post blood exam (Being that I am not a professional and unfamiliar with protocols). I actually thought the Vet who assisted me the day prior was polite, informative, and helpful; I think her name was Sosa but I'm not sure. Based on trailer park queen's big mouth I'm rating 1 star for blatant unnecessary unprofessional behavior. Needless to say I found another Veterinary clinic where the staff seem alot more educated, respectful, and with non-inflated prices. They provide a critical service being open 24 hours in the Antelope Valley. Driving to Bakersfield or Santa Clarita with a rattlesnake bit dog in the middle of the night or on a Sunday is a death sentence. AV Veterinary Center is not my normal vet. My dogs seem to only have emergencies when my regular vet is closed. The first time we were there our elderly beagle Maggie apparently had a stroke at our home. She didn't make it, but they did their best. The staff were beyond kind. They even took the time to notify our regular vet in Tehachapi. Our second visit is happening right now. Our young beagle Charlie had a run-in with a Mojave Green rattlesnake in our yard about on Monday night (today is Wednesday). My daughter and I rushed Charlie from Mojave down the 14 to their office. We called enroute to tell them what was going on. They had a tech meet us at the door (because of Covid). They took him right in and administered antivenin. We waited in the parking lot and a tech came out to get all his information. They updated us a few times and then sent us home. They've been great about calling to update us twice a day. I do not recommend this Vet, they do not diagnose the issues correctly, same digestive issues twice, not treated correctly and billing 4 k in two emergency visits within 60 days. Prescribed the usual healthy food, Amazon was not given authorization by this clinic. Do not even have the courtesy to respond to phone/ messages, no return call. They want a visit so that they can squeeze more money after we had to go to the clinic to get a answer. You are a business, run it as a proper one. I took my foster kitten here because I suspected he ate something that may need to be medically removed. They had us wait for 8 hours (I should have left but kept thinking we'd just have to wait somewhere else too so we might as well 'stay in line'). When we were finally seen, the vet dismissed my concerns and told me he was constipated and would need to stay under their care to the tune of several hundred to over a thousand dollars and when I tried asking questions and was skeptical about him needing hospitalized care for this, the tech was sent in to work me like a used car dealer. I agreed to an enema, which I doubt was actually done, and took him home and gave him some pumpkin and he pooped the next day. Since my experience I've heard loads of horror stories about this place and that the vet lost his license. Please be very, very wary of taking any animal here. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I took my 1 year old husky here as she had gotten bit by a spider/insect of some sort and had gotten an abscess. I was the only person in the waiting room and had to wait over 2 hours for a doctor to arrive and look at my dog. They never shaved her or examined her wound. Just had a nurse come in with a bill saying it would be over 1600 dollars. When I asked the nurse what she had she couldn't explain it to me and had to look on her phone to try an explain the issue. I advised that for a bill that high my dog should be inspected by a doctor and should be able to take the time to explain to me what exactly is the issue. Long story short the doctor was never there they just wanted to overcharge. I asked if this is life threatening they said not immediatelyso I took my pup to another place that charged only 400 dollars for everything. It's unfortunate for people that have emergencies and couldn't risk taking their dog someone else because this place is scam. I was still charged 25 dollars for them to "look" at my dog. Didn't clean the wound or anything. Also this place is on the edge of getting their license revoked so do not take your dog here along with two clinics in Santa Clarita!! WORST SERVICE EVER (or lack there off) They claim they are 24/7 but their doctors never show up. I took my dog today at 7:00 PM for an emergency and was told that the Night Shift doctor never called so I was sent back home at 9:00 PM (after waiting for 2 hours outside in the parking lot) without seeing anyone. The lady that was talking to us was rude and offer no help, only repeating that the doctor never answered their calls. The "day shift doctor" left quickly after his shift ended (showing that they don't care about our fury family) Now I have a dog with a lot of pain and nowhere to go. They are USELESS. I want to give zero star to this vet if I could. I had the worst experience today visiting this vet. First, my appointment was 2pm, i arrived at 1:50pm but they didn't see me until 4pm! I waited for two hours, just for a 5 minutes annual checkup. Whenever I asked, they told me "you are the next", for the entire two hours. The ladies sitting next to me felt so bad for me and asked them for me when they could see my dog, again they just ignored the question and walked away. What's the point of making an appointment then ???? They could have told me to just walk in, it will be a long wait anyway. Second, I had to file an insurance claim for my other dog and left the claim form to them two weeks ago. After numerous phone calls and two office visits, they still wouldn't fill out the claim form for me. I had to threaten them if they don't finish the form for me today I won't leave. And they did it after that. It literally only takes 30 seconds to fill out that form. Third, after my dog's annual checkup I told the doctor and the front desk I need the medical report of the checkup. That's why I'm here today. But they gave me a piece of invoice only for the visit. I had to drive back to ask for the report. Maybe other pet owners had good experience with them and they definitely ignored me completely and treated me terribly. I will NEVER go back to this vet Ever. read more

Came in with my cat for the first time. I was seen 40 MNS later than my appt time. I was not informed of the cost, and every time I asked I was told they will tell me at the end. I was advised to use a type of shampoo for my cat and was charged for it. I was told it would arrive the following day and to expect a call. I did not receive any calls. Today, the rep over the phone kept me on hold for a while twice. Had to do some digging to find what I asking her about, and finally said they do not have it yet in stock, possibly delayed because of the holidays. She could not give me a time frame since their inventory person is not there. Why charge me for it then? I am disappointed that their customer service level. All the employees were so warm and welcoming to myself and my pet, she can be a bit scared in new places. They made it a great experience, and made me feel better about my pets condition. I see so many negative reviews on this site. I'm going to add another one. Last Thursday's they examined my dog. She had a seizure for the first time . They ran blood test ! X-rays on her but could not tell me way she had a seizure. My dog stay over night at the Vet. The next day they told me to just watch her if she has another seizure to bring her back. Keep in mind my dog never had a seizure before . Today I took my dog back to the Vet and explain to them, my dog is breathing heavy, and seems wobbly when she walks. They kept her all day and the out come was she needed to be on seizure medicine. They inject her her with some seizure medicine and gave me some pills to have her start taking tomorrow. We went home two hours later my dog was having a hard time to breath her eyes seem glaze over. I rush her back to the Vet. The doctor says her lungs were find that maybe the meds made her over react. 10 mins later they told me they need to do CPR. My dog did not make it . The doctor came out try to justify that medicine he gave her should her been the right dosage. I thought that it was weird he was trying to give me excuses. I was not blaming him . Fast forward I ask them if they could take care of the fee for the cremation since I just pay them over 2,000. Than a office manager came out very sassy, and not caring or understanding . Instead she was very cold. Told me that in need to pay for the cremation and CPR. I told her there was never a fee discuss of a CPR She claims there was . I'm like no I was in the room . Make a long story short . I know there a business . But sometimes you just need to do right by the customer. I will never come there again . They need to take some ownership and be more sentimental to people when they lose a loved one in the family! read more

There are wildly different opinions on this vet. All I know is that 2 days after the wrong surgery at Mission Animal Hospital, Dr. Sandu saved my cats life. I brought him in already dying. He was completely blocked in his urinary tract, now had pnuemonia and had less than 50/50 chance of living. It cost a LOT to save him, but they took him into surgery after seizing and had a very low body temp. He was dying. They even lost him on the table, but were able to bring him back. He was in a cone of shame for almost 4 weeks, poor baby, but he is now happy, healthy, and playing again. He was only 7 yrs old. It cost me so much, Im refinancing my house. I might not ever go that far again, but everyday that I wake up with him and the other cats curled around me, I don't regret my decision. Thank you, Dr. Sandu and all.the caring staff read more

I found a Pigeon in my pool 3 days ago it was faced down with it's wing broken and the perpetrator hawk flying overhead,I thought it was dead but it started moving when I picked it up so I fed it rice and put water down for it in a show box kept her warm and in my dogs cage overnight, I called your office the next day and brought her in I was told you would try to find the club it belonged to and I was just wondering what happened to it ? UPDATE: My current 5 star review stands, if I could give 10 stars I would. Whether coming in for a well care visit or emergency this office is outstanding. Dr. Sandhu takes such amazing care of my babies, always calming my nerves when I worry, explaining everything, and even checking in with me to make sure they are ok when they go home. I am so fortunate to have found this office. It is nice to be able to see YOUR OWN vet at 1 am, and have virtually every service available. Their vet techs are so compassionate and absolutely love what they do and it makes a HUGE difference in the quality of care. I have to say that Andrew has been there for my babies through so much lately, always makes sure to call with updates, and gives me tips on easier ways to do things at home like getting my diva dog to take his pill. I would've paid the cost but wasn't even let through the door. Was turned away and sent to another vet which had already closed! Seemed every animal coming in needed an IV and while we were there they released a dog and the owner came back in and asked "is the dog supposed to still have the catheter in?" After the assistant finished laughing they took the dog back to remove it. Our cat had a rash and after blood work, X-ray and IV we were gladly told it was nothing and our cat was extremely healthy. Gave our cat medication and when we got home read the label and it was for dogs not cats. Had to buy a handling box and a cone that we didn't want or need. Overpriced and poorly operated. We had 3 related Dachshunds all go to AV. THEY WERE OUR CHILDREN! Kaycee is 17. She was suffering from illness & old age. Mostly blind, mostly deaf, weak, senile, confused, unbalanced & couldn't control bodily functions. Her declining state would be selfish, We brought her to AV were we brought her brother & mom when they were passing. We called ahead. It's 15 minutes away. They told us the time. We explained Kaycee is terrified of cars & vets. We wanted this as peaceful as possible. They gave us the room where we've said goodbye twice before. Kaycee was frantic. We were trying to calm her. Hugging, loving & holding her. She started dementia circles in the room. It calms her. I came out of the room many times. Please she suffering! We are busy. It will be soon. She came in saw her pacing with fear & agreed. CAN WE HURRY PLEASE SHE'S SUFFERING! Someone would be in to put the catheter. I could now here her crying so hard from the other room. The staff brought her back. she was terrified trying to jump from my husband's arms. Kaycee can't jump she can barely walk. This was pure adrenaline. Waiting for the vet. I come out of the room, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP HER AT LEAST GIVE HER A SEDITIVE TO CALM HER...PLEASE!! they said, we're busy. I come out again I'm crying. Please help her. I thought I need to find a better way. Maybe remove the catheter, get a prescription where she could be calmer & we could bring her the following day. They are negligent. The vet finally came in & our little girl went to sleep. They gave us time with her, but after a long period we couldn't keep holding her lifeless body. I went back out & said, can someone please come get her? This was not kind, professional or humane. We can't stop crying! The visual will not go away. AV let her down. Her torment was their fault.
