The place is very clean and organized and smells very nice. My masseus was Chloe. I absolutely loved her gentle hands and she did exactly what I wanted. I didn't ask but based on how she worked my body I can tell she was a professional a knew exactly what she was doing. She hit trigger points in my body I never experienced and it felt amazing. Chloe made sure to give me my 60 minutes to the last second and didn't rush anything she was doing which spoke volumes of her ethic and what the company stands for. Went in with a Groupon for a 60 minute couples massage- regularly $120, deal for $90, got it with a discount so it was a pretty good value. Location is clean and convenient, parking was easy to find, scheduling was easy. They typically book a few weeks out but you can call and see if they have cancellations sooner. Covid precautions are followed (temperature checks at door, masks until service begins, etc). Staff at check-in were friendly, completed a standard survey before getting started, notes to avoid my left elbow were not remembered. We had 2 male masseuses, did not get names. About half of the massage was over the sheet and they only used oil for the second half, and it was cold. Overall, it was more efficient and perfunctory than relaxing, but they did get out a knot in my shoulder and used appropriate pressure. The guy I got seemed to mostly use his elbows and forearms, which was not good technique. They did use hot stones (which are usually extra elsewhere), and did a scrub on my feet and lower legs (which was odd). Pricing was decent for what it was, but I probably won't be back. I am not sure if it's just the particular therapists we got, but both the technique and attention to detail (or lack thereof) are not what I look for in a massage experience- but you could do worse. read more

Lobby is on the small side and they are following some covid rules that they state they are doing . They request everyone were a mask which everyone is , but they do state they are taking temps of everyone and do have an electric thermometer there but no temps are being taken . You must fill out a form when entering with your information and what kind of massage you would like . The spa is clean as well . In the room there is piped in calming music , dim music and the massage table. My massage was amazing . It also came with a foot scrub. The hour went by very fast The hot stones were great. Very bad experience with my massage. I kept asking the masseuse to be gentler, but he rubbed my muscles so hard that they ached for a week after. I couldn't turn my neck. I do have very sensitive muscles, but I'm not sure why softer pressure is a harder thing to give than stretching my muscles to shreds. During the visit, I kept pulling the towel up above my waist and the staff member kept insisting that my butt crack be out. They would knock for a split second and then enter the room before I barely had time to respond. It didn't feel very private or professional at all. I think this spot would work better for people with different expectations. Some folks just want a massage at a lower price, and pressure feels great for them. I've realized I prefer closer to a spa experience, where there's more privacy and patience, and the pressure is adjustable. I also prefer not to be asked about my romantic life or feel uncomfortable to express our couples massage is for two women because we're together. My girlfriend and I being asked about our boyfriends was awkward. Lastly, getting a dirty look because we tipped only $20 was the final factor that made this far from relaxing. Another Groupon fail! I had bought a couples massage and took my mom with me. The front desk personnel were nice, but the massage was HARSH. Not only was the "massage" rushed, the male I had kept making ridiculous loud noises , slamming the cabinets, and I just got his entire negative energy. I asked for a deep tissue massage and instead got a harsh slap around of hands on me. The masseuse did not actually possess the qualified skills to give you a massage. He just kept slapping his hands around up and down and slamming oil onto the skin. Then he was harshly rubbing off the oil with the towels, and I got a bruise, followed by other multiple ones I found later. I left more anxious and paranoid than I was entering that place. It was a good deal and the massage was great so we decided to purchase another one for this December trip. Staff was friendly. Greet you when you enter. We were about 10 minutes late but they gave us the full 90 minutes. I am terrible in remember names. I should have noted down the last masseur's name because she was very good. This time it was a guy. He did okay but the last one was better. Wife likes her. She says pressure was good. For the room, there are hooks on the wall to hang your clothes. There is also a chair for your belongs. The floor felt a bit sticky this time. Not sure if it was from previous massage oils. Could do a better job cleaning the floor. Would I go back? Probably. I've been to several massages from LA, Sedona, Napa, Four Seasons, and this place is ranked up there, in terms of technique. Out of the Asian massage parlors, Avalon Spa is my favorite. I went to this massage place with my boyfriend for a couples massage that we bought on Groupon, and in addition to it being the least professional, most physically painful "massage" either of us have ever had, my male "masseuse" inappropriately touched me several times during the appointment, forcing me to reach out to the BBB to report his misconduct, and I will have to file a police report for assault. There is no massage or therapeutic technique being used, either, which has caused me severe pain in my upper back, as I could literally hear crunching in my back and shoulders as the masseuse continued to hurt me. I was so frightened by everything that was happening that I literally could not speak, could hardly move, and entirely tensed up. This place is not safe and does not have women's well-being or safety in mind with their business - this assault took place in front of another female worker who was massaging my boyfriend in the same room, so the employees do not care about ethics or safety, either. This place is dangerous and should be avoided AT ALL COSTS. read more

We do not recommend Avalon spa because they cancelled appointment after we reached their spa because their ladies masseuse took the day off. We had confirmed the appointment with Fifi before arrival so there was no reason for them to change anything on us. They didn't have the courtesy to inform us of the cancellation. When we asked why they didn't notify us, one of the reason they mentioned was that Groupon rate that Avalon had offered which they realized was low. Well, that is Avalon's fault, not customers. We ae disappointed about the lack of courtesy or business ethics. Most importantly they were NOT apologetic that they had wasted our time and Uber ride cost we had incurred. We sincerely ask all future customers to NOT use Avalon Spa and instead go to other 2 SPAs that are right across the street. We will also inform Groupon about the vendor who backs out on confirmed appointments. read more

The one thing I really like about this location is that the workers and front desk made me feel extremely comfortable and welcome to. We were basically joking around with them during our stay.
