Definitely the best consignment store in the Orlando area! I have found so many great items. There is a good variety of all different types of clothes- workout clothes, business attire, casual, and dressy. I can't give anymore than three stars because I took multiple very high quality and lightly used (if at all used) items to sell and they were completely rejected. I actually brought in one relatively new Michael Kors bag which I recently saw posted on their Instagram page and they did not accept mine. I'm sure there is some process they go to, but I really expected for them to accept much more of my items!! Still the best consignment store, but 50% of a consignment store is what they sell and the other 50% is what you sell. I'm sure there are many lovely ladies out there who would love to buy my brand new TopShop, American Apparel, and Michael Kors items! read more

They have a good selection of used clothes and accessories at a good price. And the employees are always helpful. Since it's located in Winter Park, you can expect that this is not your typical thrift store- it would cost you more than that but you can make sure that they have what the High School/College kids or young adults are looking for. I never tried to sell anything here before though I tried to sell my Michael Kors, Tory Burch and Rebecca Minkoff tote bags to them and they made me come back 2 hr later and offered $16 for ALL THREE. I took the bags back home and sold them online my own and made close $500. So it is not a place to sell. But it could be the place to but items although I never bought anything here too for many times I've been here. I just feel that I can buy similar items at Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx or Marshall around the same price and they would be brand new. I would take advantage of following them in Social Media to see what they have in the house and for the promotion like the $1 item. If I am few years younger and my taste of clothing and Fashion I'd follow is different than what I'd wear now I would probably shop and come often at Avalon. read more

This is definitely my go-to spot when I want to buy something eclectic and cool. They have the best finds for skirts dresses and tops, and I cant put together an instagram worthy outfit for under $20. You can also find a variety of brands- they don't just take Forever 21 stuff, but real vintage pieces and I've gotten some All Saints finds as well. DO NOT SHOP HERE! A few weeks back I took my 16 yr old daughter to this establishment because she wanted to sell a few items. The manager turned her away because she didn't have an I.D. I then walked in and asked if I could sell using my I.D. Because my daughter was a minor. The manager REFUSED. I asked if I could return tomorrow to sell and she stated "No, I'll remember you tomorrow". I explained to her that we drove 30 min and I have my valid I.D., she absolutely refused to provide us service. And argued with me for at least 10 min! She insinuated that my items may have been stolen! I have never been mistreated like this as a consumer, let alone, a human being. I couldn't believe this was a manager that I was dealing with!! I came here to try and sell some clothes, waited two hours for them to make the decision that they weren't going to accept anything. When I looked in my bag I had given them everything was folded in the same order and exactly how I had put it in there. I had jeans and shirts from Pacsun, Levi's and American Eagle some with the tags still on it. They made me wait two hours for them to not even look through the bag which I know for sure they didn't because when they gave it back to me I asked how come they didn't want the Levi's with the tag and the lady looked surprised and went back in my bag to buy them from me. Besides that sometimes you get lucky and find good stuff but a lot of it is overpriced for a thrift store. read more

They have a bunch of stuff but they def favor women. I found a pair of shoes without an insole and i asked if there was anything they could do with price, they quickly said no. My sister then came up with a dress that had the smallest stain that looked like deodorant, which definitely comes out in one wash... 50% off. She was so quick to give a discount to her but it was like pulling teeth when i asked... like insoles don't appear after one wash. I'm definitely not returning after this. All I have to say is be very careful if you buy shoes from them. They only have 1 shoe for showing and trying on the main floor. When you purchase, they get the other shoe from the back. They try to hide it and slip it in the bag before you look at it, but make sure you examine the other shoe they pull out of the back. It almost always has damage!!! So you're left with one good shoe and they have a strict no-return, no exchange policy. They remind me of hawkers in NYC trying to sell fake merchandise to the unlearned. they suck. i sent 2 big bags of clothes to them and ihey kept 2 ITEMS and there was some nice stuff in there. I GET 7.50 back for a pair of lululemon leggings and a brandy melvile t shirt. they proceeded to not fold my clothes back because they were too busy. there was like 2 ppl in there who cares if you busy fold my clothes. can't believe this they all look miserable and was not a good experience. never coming back again they don't even deserve 1 star. over priced thrift store read more

Avalon Exchange is my favorite new obsession!! This is hands down the best used clothing store I have ever been to! They are obviously very particular about what they will buy as they have a wonderful assortment of clothing, shoes, purses and accessories. The best part is the phenomenal prices on every single item. I scored a Diane Von Furstenberg silk dress for only $32!! As much as I love a killer find, I severely lack the patience to sift through unorganized resale stores that I have visited in the past so I was hesitant on my first visit. Avalon was so easy and pleasant to shop in! The items are well organized and it is easy to see everything. The building itself is very spacious, clean and bright. All the items were in wonderful shape and were from brands that you actually want! The staff was friendly and the fitting rooms were clean. My FAVORITE place to shop in Orlando. The prices are great, the selection is the perfect combination of vintage and on-trend. There's something for everyone here. I almost always find something. I love finding unique pieces that would normally be hard to find and that no one else will have. While I love digging through racks at Goodwill and Salvation Army, I love the curated shopping experience that Avalon provides. The employees are lovely but there is one woman who works there that seriously should be fired. I've seen her talk down yo customers & refuse to take people's clothes when they sell with a smirk on her face. If you see a tanned cashier with a full face of clown makeup, and dyed ombre/dirty blonde hair, ask for another cashier to sell to. There's a woman there with raven-colored short hair who is absolutely wonderful and everytime I sell to her she takes the majority of my clothes. The other chick has more of a wannabe Kim k/uninspiringly trendy style so I think it's unfair that when people with unique pieces come in, she doesn't buy them. It's ridiculous. read more

One of my best consignment shop visits on the East Coast! Alexia went above and beyond to make sure we had a remarkable experience. Avalon Exchange has a large inventory of fashionable attire for all. Three family members and I left with multiple bags for clothing that we hope will fit into our loaded suitcases (shoulda brought empty ones for all the shopping we've done in Orlando). Unlike the consignment boutiques I frequent in NYC and the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia), Avalon Exchange sold unique items at really reasonable prices. Love love love this store! Have already gone twice and have ended up buying at least a few things both times. They have a great selection of clothing and everything is affordable. The higher brand items are more expensive, which is understandable, but the regular clothing are extremely cheap. Also have a variety of vintage items which makes it all the better. Only complaints I have is the location is kind of ducked off, so it makes it a little harder to access and there's limited parking so 9 times out of 10 you have to park on the side of the road. I would encourage the employees to interact more with the customers because I don't think I've ever been addressed other than when I'm at the register paying. The best second hand store in Orlando. Friendly and helpful staff. They are reasonably priced and conveniently located in winter park between my work and home. They take in and sell unique and trendy items, not just name brands and big labels. You can also sell your stuff here too. I'm always finding something on the racks, and they constantly get new stuff in. They put items that don't sell quickly enough on clearance to make room for fresh product. I recommend this shop to anyone on a budget that likes to stay trendy but doesn't need high end designer labels, although they do have some of that there if you look carefully. read more

I am very glad I was recommended by a friend to check out this place. I would describe it is a vintage thrift shop for millennials who are looking to fit the current trends, in an inexpensive way. They offer a variety of quality brands including designer items for more of a splurge. Their accessories are what I gravitate towards every time I visit, as they have a very unique jewelry selection and an endless amount of sunglasses to choose from. The first time I went was during their famous dollar sale, where everything marked with an orange tag was $1. It was a huge catch being that the line to get into the store wrapped around the building! The prices of the items are quite affordable for what its worth since they offer one of a kind pieces that you probably wouldn't find anywhere else. Like any other thrift store, you are able to sell your clothes. However, they look for trendy items that are popular during the current season so I would not recommend selling your clothes here if you have basic t-shirts. I went into the website and noticed the great reviews, so I decided to take some of my hardly worn very nice and name brand slacks and skirts, however, they did not accept any of them because they only take casual clothes "like jeans and other...", seriously? While I was there I saw some casual clothes, but I also saw what looked like some office type clothes. Not only that, but by looking at the website, you can tell that they have a high variety of clothing, so what makes the clothes I took so different from what they already have. Plus, the many reviews seem to indicate that people sell and buy at Avalon consistently. How much different could their clothing be from what I brought in? Really??? I am sure that with the location of this consignment, many professional women enter the store looking for nice attire for work, and the clothing I brought in were exactly that!
