The leasing person, Connie (Asian lady with glasses), is rude and disrespectful. She failed to smile or introduce herself. Maybe she was embarrassed by those braces she wears. Her answers to questions were evasive, sarcastic, and shady. Instead of her being the face of Avalon Glendora she would probably be better at a security desk in a low income apartment complex. She provided the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Connie didn't want to show the apartment. She insisted that I complete an application to lease before showing me the apartment. When she finally decided to show the apartment, she moved slow and kept fidgeting for 17 minutes. The unit she showed smelled old and dusty and the flooring was worn and dirty with permanent stains. Connie was not willing to clean the unit or replace the flooring. Clearly the paint was not touched up or fresh after the old tenants moved out. Ended up renting a smaller non Avalon apartment in Pasadena paying $400 more per month than Avalon Glendora; because, the apartment I chose smelled fresh and clean and the customer service was outstanding. Unlike Connie, the staff at my new home made me feel welcome. The apartment I chose is 25 minutes further from my office than Avalon Glendora. I'd rather pay more and drive an hour in traffic each day than pay above average rent for a mediocre apartment, ran by low budget management. Glendora Avalon ask for too much in rent to bully perspective tenants. Other than Connie's tacky behavior, Avalon Glendora's exterior is kept clean and the amenities are nice. Avalon Glendora ned to deep clean or replace carpet/vinyl flooring as needed, especially when an apartment has been vacant for a number of months. if a unit is vacant that long, upper management should be be trying to figure out why?? Thoroughly clean and make necessary repairs. If a property management company is asking high end rent rates, then at least provide adequate service and product to meet the standards of the income you require. Send an undercover boss to Avalon glendora to see how Connie is running qualified people away. read more

Wasting my time. I had signed up for another Avalon location before the visit. I repeatedly confirmed on the phone to Glendora that if I could transfer after signed up, and they gave me the answer yes. When I completed the tour and decide to transfer, the staff told me I couldn't because I had signed up. I talked to the manager and she said she would talk to the staff but just sorry to me. I drove from northridge to here to see the apartment and an Asian lady with glasses who was sitting at the front desk didn't even want to help us. She didn't want to show us the available units and after she took my id she just sat there and start answering calls. Her attitude was really rude and she made me stand there the whole time. After I ask her to get my id back because she took it and she didn't even say anything to me and just watched me left the office. I will never consider Avalon again. What a rude b***h. read more

I have lived here for two years and need to warn any possible new residents... I have an archive of emails of fire alarms goings off 4 times a day, throw up outside my front door, neighbors that have the most disrespectful children screaming bloody murder at 3am!' cars getting their rims stolen. Cars getting keyed,photos of people getting massages in the gym (I will post photos on next yelp you will be shocked) the worst part is i pay 2547 a month and my lease goes up every time I renew... but new residence get different plans??? Maybe because I'm WHITE... this place is bull Shit WARNING.. It feels like we are on vacation all the time! The staff are very nice and kind. Everyone takes care of things quickly here and the grounds are kept immaculate. They are good communicators too. We love the bbq areas and the firepit. The pool is lovely and the jacuzzi hot. We are planning on staying another year while we figure out our retirement plans for the future. The place looks awesome and has top notch amenities in all the common areas. The gym and pool are really nice and rarely occupied (granted the place is not fully rented out). The BIG ISSUE is you can hear EVERY STEP the unit above and beside you. For a brand new building I assumed they would have put in top notch noise control features/insulation. Even in your own unit with doors closed, you can hear absolutely everything going on outside the room your in. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, I suggest living elsewhere. read more

I should have done my homework on this place.. My gf loved it when looking up apartments in Glendora so I trusted her plus it was pet friendly and we were hooked when seeing the dog spa. So it's been about 4-6 months now and it's too much can't even sleep on my days off cause the kids up stairs start making noise at about 8:00 am till about 9:00 pm it's unreal that I have to get on a chair and slam the ceiling so they get the point to shut up! Maintenance around the apartment sucks pool is always dirty and for some reason there's always glass at the back entrance so I can't even walk my dog that way. Smoke free? YEAH RIGHT! Cigarettes all over the place so you gotta watch out and make sure your dog doesn't pick one up and accidentally eat it that won't be a fun vet visit.. For the amount that we pay and I'm sure everyone else who has a dog or two or cars might as well just buy a condo or a house. Very disappointed could have been a really nice place. My husband and I moved in a couple of months ago, and the staff has been nothing but nice to us!!! Stacey is the best!!! :-) We moved from Texas and they helped our transition into our new home very smooth!! We love our new place! It also has a nice and fun dog park so I our two dogs can play anytime they want! We are minutes away from the 210 freeway, post office, grocery store, and much more! We love it here! read more

While I love my apartment itself, the community has a lot of problems. This is a new community but the staff does not do a good job taking care of the premises. After two weeks of living here I finally had to submit requests due to trash in the parking structure, emergency exit signs hanging from their wires in multiple locations. I am surprised that with as much rent as I pay that these kind of things are not taken care of automatically. If you want to have a guest come over, good luck with the parking process. The instructions/directions on how to properly enroll your guest so they can park are confusing and ambiguous. Even though you get a confirmation that the guest is allowed to park on the premises, the guest car can still be towed if it does not make a list given to security at a certain time. I feel like I am in a college dormitory being controlled on who can come over. So beware, even though there are plenty of open guest spots, your guest cannot use them if you do not make the cut-off time. The pool is freezing. In the hottest part of August people were not using the pool, instead they were using the hot tub. The pool was advertised as being heated. It was not. I later found out from the third-party pool vendor that the heater has been broken for a while, but he did not get authorization to fix it. If you like the smell of trash then this is your place. The trash chute rooms were designed with no ventilation. This causes the hall ways to smell like trash on all floors. It is disgusting. My son and I hold our breath when we walk to our car because of the smell. When my family comes to visit they ask me why it smells like dirty diapers as we walk to my apartment. Management attempts to fix the problem by plugging in an air freshener. It just makes the problem worse. From the above review and my one star rating I hope it is good warning on what you can expect. I truly love my apartment so I hope those in charge do something to fix some of the problems. read more

Awesome atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. Everything is brand new and beautifully designed. It comes with in-room washer/dryer, dish washer and refrigerator. I've already used the BBQ in the terrace area with some family members. It was a perfect place for a picnic. We also used the heated pool which was refreshing and the hot tub was especially relaxing. At first I thought having the Dog Park at the opposite end of the complex would be a problem, but 1) it's not as far as you think, 2) having to walk the dog was better for both the dog and myself. I really enjoyed the walk as much as my dog. Guest parking seems plentiful, particularly on the 6th floor of the parking structure. You can cancel your gym membership as this facility has a gym with everything you would need. I haven't used the clubhouse, but it looks like the perfect place for a party. read more

I have been living in Avalon Glendora for 7 months now and have loved it! First, the apartments are beautiful and clean. There are also great amenities on the property like the 24 hours gym, doggy spa and pool/spa. The environment is friendly and very clean! My roommates and I recently moved from a 2 bedroom into a 3 bedroom. The time span that we had to do this in was restricted which made for a chaotic mess. Alicia, the manager, was amazing during the whole process. She was friendly, helpful, and understanding of our situation. Her demeanor as she helped us is what made the transition so smooth. All the other girls on staff were such great help during this move also! The maintenance guys are amazing! They are always willing to help you and are sincere about their relationship with you. Overall, the apartments are gorgeous and the staff is great! I would highly recommend Avalon! read more

It's been great so far, and though many complain about the noice level... regardless of whether you live facing the street or the courtyard, noise is always going to be present. Other tenants are respectable and will listen to concerns. I would definitely say that Communication with not only management but also the other tenants would be the best solution to any problems that arise. read more

Just moved in and wanted to share that I've had a great experience from the beginning. Alicia the community manger is very nice and responsive. Great communication and attentive to ensure a smooth move in. I worked with Tailor mainly and she's been great. Very nice and made sure everything I needed was handled. Also a mention of maintenance man Jesse who helped with any issues I had regarding painting and keys. Everyone is very nice here and seems like a great community. The building is kept up very well. Worst place I have ever been in my entire life. Please if you have any kind of heart problem DO NOT MOVE to this place because the fire alarm goes off 6 times a day. They have been having this issue since I moved in. The trash room is a disaster and if you own a Mercedes expect your wheels to be stolen in the parking structure. Management is horrible. They keep sending you apology emails but they never take actions to solve any problem. I can keep going with the issues in this community but it's almost 1 am and finally the fire alarm stopped so I can go back to sleep. I have tons of pictures and recorded many times all the problems I have experienced. Thank god and I say it again thank god we moved out from this hell. They should rent any apt for 500 bucks a month instead of over 2000 and I m generous saying that. Once again everyone out there. DO NOT MOVE FOR ANY REASON IN THIS COMMUNITY. read more

Lived at this gorgeous community in unit 432 from 08/15 - 09/16. My experience with the office and leasing staff was sadly disappointing throughout my residency. There was a new face behind the front desk constantly which created a frustrating atmosphere when needing answers to any questions; the answer was always "I don't know". Management staff changed as well which meant new "rules" were frequently implemented; at times receiving daily emails on new rules and how they work. We reserved the clubhouse with a non-refundable $200 for a child's afternoon birthday party; it resulted in a written violation for "too many people" and an additional fee for cleaning . The one time we used the pool/BBQ area for July 4th with family we received a written letter of "Pool Area Rules" reminder taped to our door . Parking just became overwhelming, new parking rules were established on what seemed like a weekly basis resulting in no interior guest parking so they could use those spots to charge tenants for "additional" spaces. My experience with maintenance staff was awesome . Jesse, Matt and crew were awesome. Very friendly and repairs were made in a timely and professional manner. My rent was $3085 per month for a beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath on the fourth floor. Expensive? Yes! But it was worth the price because it was gorgeous. After our original lease was set to expire we received a lease renewal letter in the mail with a rent increase of $215 per month, making the rent $3303 per month!! Now that was too expensive! I asked, in writing, to renew my year lease at my then raterental rate of $3085. The written response was "No because the rental market bears a $215 increase". So I gave a 30 day notice to move out. Interestingly enough my apartment was then listed for rent on the Avalonbay website at $3045 per month ($40 LESS then what I was paying)!! The rent disclaimer read "for new residents only" which was their explaination the $40 rent decease. When I asked for an explaination as to why I couldn't renew my lease at $3085 but they were offering it to a new resident for $3045 of course I was told "we don't know". Unethical business practices?? Um, YES!!! read more

I moved from out of state to the Avalon for a work relocation and have found a very comfortable home to live in. Besides being part of an award winning school district and walking distance to Glendora village, I find the property is always well maintained and the rules are fair and enforced regularly. The couple incidents that I have had were addressed with management immediately and resolved within hours. I also really enjoy the community and the folks who live here are generally friendly. I have three children that live with me part-time and they really enjoy the extra activities like the mothers/fathers day pottery, food trucks and other events that the property sponsors. Overall, I am very satisfied and have enjoyed my time here. read more

It was the most horrible community I have ever met! It should be acknowledged that the buildings are nearly brand new and all facilities are awesome. However, the leasing office never take care of residents. Every time I schedule a maintenance service, no one will come to my apartment until I follow up with the office again. Before signing leasing contract, they were very nice and enthusiastic. But after moving in, I found that they were rude and helpless. They promised me two parking spaces but just gave me one in the end. I even cannot park on the street because the police office won't give out any residence parking to Avalon residence. When I try to communicate with leasing office, they were unconcerned, saying that it was not their business. They didn't even try to deal with police office to figure out a solution. So, if you have two or more cars in your family, DO NOT live here. Otherwise you need to pay over $2000 per year for guest parking and just park on the street!!! I won't live in any Avalon property again!! read more

Hello again, I am going to move out the end of June. the reasons why. First of all a family situation as wanted me to move. But as far as these apartments go. First of all let me say the staff is amazing. The ladies in the office will go 110% out of their way to help their residence. But this is why I think this community is for a select group of people. I gave notice yesterday and looked online to see the square footage to compare my new community and found that my apartment is advertised almost 200.00 more then what I paid. Wow, the market must be really good these days. Wow! So like I said it is for the young professional, The top floor is the best because you can't hear anybody below you and I hear that it is noisy if you have someone above you. Also, there isn't any grass for the dogs to go potty. There is a small fake grass dog park on the premises. So I just feel if you are looking for grass for you dog to go potty this isn't the place. I think it is a beautiful apartment. So since I am moving I just thought I would write another review. Business is business and I guess if you can get this much for an apartment great! read more

Its is amazing that this place will allow such rude employees to sit at the from desk. They will look you up and down as if you were in high school, if your are not wearing the newest clothes to style they will frown and treat you as a second class citizen. When you call to have someone correct an issue your apartment it takes at least 2 phone calls and a visit to the office two have its corrected. They will give you a used key fob and when it does not work try to charge you $50 due to water damage. Honestly the worst place I have ever stayed! read more

The office staff is amazing and takes care of everything in a friendly and fast manner. The maintenance staff is more than I could have ever asked for. They are always friendly and pleasant to be around. I have dealt with Jessie a few times and find him an exceptionally happy person who loves coming to work. This is my first post, We have been here for 6 months and are locked in our 1 year lease. Don't let the front office fool you. They're only nice and pleasant until you move in. Do your Megan's Law search, they have a RSO here which they wont tell you because they dont have too. The only good thing about this place is covered parking and Jesse the Maintenance guy and his crew. They have a new Maintenance Manager who is completely under the influence of some sort of substance and is on a total power trip. Super unprofessional and shouldn't be working while high! Not to mention there are police here all the time, my neighbor alone had the cops here pounding on my door at 5am looking for her boyfriend who sells drugs in our hall and who smokes pot on their patio. They are finally getting evicted thank heavens! Ellie the manager is pretty awesome and easy to talk to. I wish people would respect her follow directions. This place is full of young college students who smoke all around the property and speed in the parking structure.. Dont even get me started on parking, it is freaking terrible!!!! NO GUEST PARKING! Although it is really loud living on the main street you do get used to it after a while. You just cant sleep with your windows open because the sirens will wake you and your children. I am hugely disappointed at the community because it has the potential to be something great! The amenities are nice but there are BIG BIG ISSUES. Our trash shoot on the 3rd floor is stinking up the whole floor, noise after hours is awful and the lack of resect is sickeningl. I do want to note that we have encountered many professional and respectful tenants that live here and we do enjoy them! However you do have those college students who leave their TRASH EVERYWHERE!!! Its really sad what this place is coming too. Considering I'm paying $2800, I am truly disappointed and will not be renewing my lease and will be sure to share my experience so that you don't make the same mistake and lock yourself in like we did. read more
