Updated Review - June 2025 I've been living at this property since February 2025, now under new management. Since my last review, I've noticed that the property owner has made a few improvements. I also want to highlight that Christine and Cuca, the new management team, are fantastic--friendly, responsive, and genuinely trying to help. That said, I'd like to provide a full and honest update on my experience, especially regarding chronic issues that still need attention: 1. Pool Cleanliness The pool remains a major concern. Today, I found it disgusting, with trash, balloon pieces, and an excessive amount of leaves floating in the water. I even took the time to clean it myself using a water bottle because I was worried about children swimming in it. I understand the surrounding trees make it hard to maintain, but a pool skimmer should be made available for tenants, or staff should clean it more frequently. I don't want to bring my own just to enjoy a swim. 2. Jacuzzi Out of Order The Jacuzzi has never worked since I moved in. The switch makes a buzzing noise, but it doesn't function and never produces bubbles. This should be addressed, especially as it's advertised as an amenity. 3. Laundry Area Issues The laundry room is consistently dirty--socks and underwear left behind, lint filters not cleaned, and washers frequently broken. While the dryers work well, some washers have low water pressure, and the machines are overpriced, especially for debit card users (who are initially charged $8 for a $2.50-$3 wash). This is managed by a vendor, but the property owner should insist on full maintenance checks. It's frustrating to have to do laundry off-site when this amenity is supposed to be available. 4. Trash and Cleanliness Trash is frequently left around the property. The large trash bins are messy, and I've witnessed people rummaging through them, which is unsanitary. More frequent cleanups or enforcement are needed. 5. Pet Waste Some dog owners do not pick up after their pets, and I've stepped into dog poop more than once. This is a health and community issue that needs attention. 6. A/C and Thermostat Problems This is the second time I've had problems with the thermostat and A/C unit, which is especially uncomfortable since we live on the second floor. While the staff does what they can, I feel like they are understaffed for the size of the property. 7. Lack of Security Unlike my previous residence--Aspire at Alper in Henderson, Nevada--this property doesn't have regular security patrols. Aspire was pristine, and part of that was due to security walking the grounds to ensure people followed the rules. Here, when something happens (especially after hours), there's no one monitoring. A security presence would go a long way in deterring rule-breaking and maintaining cleanliness. On a Positive Note: The Property's Location This property is located at San Dimas Canyon Road, with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's surrounded by groves of trees and has a large, green courtyard with lush grass. It's very peaceful, and I love waking up to this view every day. Considering it's in Los Angeles County, the price point is very reasonable. Living in San Dimas almost feels like stepping back in time--it has a small-town, Midwestern charm, which I appreciate, having lived in the Midwest as well. Everything is close by--parks, stores, restaurants, and schools--which makes the location ideal. Final Thoughts: This is my honest, updated review. I truly hope that management and ownership take the issues seriously and address them. This property has great potential, and the new management team is doing their best, but they clearly need more support and resources to improve things for everyone living here. read more

I had mixed experiences all through while living here. One of the managers in the past was good, others weren't. Recently it is under new management. Current managers are nice, but recently noted that the issues reported aren't being taken care of timely. It is not just delay, super delay. I heard from other tenants too that there is not even any acknowledgement for requests and inquiries. Not sure what is happening. read more

Living at Mountain View apartments has been the most stressful experience I have ever dealt with, from signing the lease til after moving out. Prior to moving here, it was almost impossible to get an email or voicemail response to our move in questions and concerns as the communication was horrendous at best. Once we moved in, (traveling all the way from Northern California) the front desk lady had no idea we were moving in that day. She didn't have any paperwork prepared, couldn't find our keys and also failed to mention that we needed to provide a cashiers check that day (it was already 4pm and banks were closing). Throughout our lease, we had massive amounts of rain water that flooded into our apartment at least 3 times and ruined our furniture inside the unit (which we had to clean up and replace). Additionally, we had at least 8 instances throughout our lease where raw sewage water would flood up through our shower drains which made the whole apartment smell like feces. We would have to call out of work to wait hours for the plumber to arrive to temporarily fix the problem. On top of all of these problems, they charged us over $2,000 for unnecessary damages to the unit (including reglazing to the bathrooms which was damaged from the sewage water backups) and carpet replacement (which they couldn't prove that the carpets were replaced before we moved in). Even after I took photos of the damages prior to our move in, and emailed them to Mountain View, they tried to claim that the time stamps on the photos were "photoshopped." So I had to make a trip to San Dimas after moving away to prove that my photos were in fact not photoshopped. On top of this, every time that I interacted with Ester Rodlin, the property manager, she was rude and condescending to me. Save yourself and the headache and DO NOT LIVE HERE. read more

I've lived here for about 3 years now. Yes it's a beautiful place to live. But it is highly flawed. 1. Rent is increased at and alarming rate. This place isn't meant for long term loyal renters who pay on time. 2. Lack of consistent management. I've lost count on the change since I've been here. 3. Parking is horrible. You pay all this money to live here and get parking. Yet there's never any parking available. Ppl just allow others to park here all times of night. The area needs to be gated closed and patrolled properly with the amount of money paid. Why isn't I have to either call a tow truck for illegally parked individuals or pay to park on the street. I love living here! All of my maintenance requests have been promptly answered by staff, special shout out to Joaquin! I submitted a request Wednesday which required scheduling a 3rd party vendor and I had put in my notes to have it done before Sunday if possible. Of course I would have been fine waiting, but he was able to book it all and have my service request completed by Friday afternoon! Awesome! The staff here are superstars. My husband and I have been at this complex for 6 months and it's been great! The community is very peaceful and beautiful. The management is great and very helpful with any questions or situations you many have! Thank you Ester! Parking is not as bad as people make it to be. There are parking rules but they're not hard to follow and are to keep the community safe. They do tow cars that don't have a permit or up to date tags but I wouldn't say it's anything to worry. My husband and I paid our registration but didn't have the sticker for 1-2 months and thankfully nothing happened. For the parking permit, I've left it on the side of dashboard hiding a bit but still visible for them to see if they peak in & they've been nice to not tow my vehicle and carefully check thoroughly. Do NOT rent here. This place is a joke! I have been here for over 3 years and the management has changed so many times already. The rent continues to go up every year while new renters get to rent at a lower cost than the tenants that have been loyal. When it comes to maintenance they take their sweet time regardless if it's an emergency or not. Let's not forget about the laundry mat they have on sight there is always 3-4 machines out of service. I just want to say I been here for now 7+ years I enjoy living here ! we are close to all of amenities grocery stores schools park etc. I would like to thank management/ managers the last couple years when they change they continue to upgrade our management I'm very thankful for that !! veronica was good Ester is amazing I feel she is doing an amazing job on keeping the property and community in great condition!! Yesterday morning I went to start my car and it wouldn't start. So I went and looked for Tommy whom works at mountain view as the maintenance team. I asked him if he had any jumper cables and he said he would go check and be right back. He came back and we went to my car. He pushes it out of the assigned parking and I was on my way within 10 minutes. So I am writing this review to personallu thank him and in hopes that others will read it and want to live here. Although I have had some issues with needing major maintenance multiple times (pipe burst twice, major flooding once, A/C isuses) because it is an older building, I couldn't be more grateful for the office staff - Ester and Alex. Everyone was extremely kind, polite, and considerate when I was having these issues. I needed to move out early due to a scheduling conflict and Ester handled everything smoothly and with a smile. Then, the day before I was set to move out, I was defrauded by my new apartment complex and they did not honor my signed agreement. I left a frantic voicemail to Mountain View on a Saturday morning, and 2 hours later I was called by the front office and they let me extend my lease by a month so I had a place to live. What a relief in the middle of a nightmare. I believe I got unlucky with the building (although you may want to consider this as well) but leave no doubt: You will be dealing with a front office that cares about your concerns and addresses your needs with grace. my apartment had a huge hot water problem. My bathroom sinks and my shower was not getting hot for weeks! our maintenance, team, namely Joaquin and Tommy, helped us out. The main office assured us that our boilers were in good shape, and Joaquin and Tommy found out it was a circulation valve issue! they fixed it and we had properly hot water for the first time in weeks:) they also noticed and changed our sink heads so the water pressure is correct. awesome guys! read more

Moved out in spring of 2022, was impossible to get ahold of management despite calling daily, going by office, no one ever returned calls. After move out was given $110 refund of deposit within 21 days, assumed all settled. No other contact made by management. They have all my contact info. Suddenly in April 2024--almost two years later--I'm told I owe them $421 and will be sent to collections if I don't pay within 30 days for carpet, etc when we moved out almost two years before. They clearly waited until I would not have access to the portal and all long since settled. I contacted a lawyer and was told this is technically legal so had to pay. Do not trust this company one bit! read more

Rented a 2 bedroom and 2 bath unit with three other girls during our last year of college. Our overall stay was okay. The only reason I'm rating this a one star was because my moving process was a disaster and the property management team was not helpful and downright unprofessional. They charged us extra days for staying past our lease but the fact was we had all turned in our key and we had already cut electrical services to our unit. They then claimed we never returned all the keys to them but in reality, they had misplaced it but later found it. I had to take multiple trips to the office to dispute the extra day charges. The assistant property manager then was just not helpful and lagged on everything. I had to always email them for a response back. Then it took them all together 6 months after our move out date to finally clear out all the charges and give our security deposit but that was only because we wrote them a letter to take them to small claims court. And now, when I think I've finally cut off all ties from this apartment and its management, I get a call from a debt collector company stating that I have a charged amount from Mountain View. But when I contacted Mountain View, they say my balance is $0 and that I don't own them anything. They say that the debt collector doesn't have the updated info. Like what even?!? How do you not communicate such important info and it's already been a year since I moved out. Overall, my moving out process was a mess and stressful. The management team was just downright unprofessional with no communications skills whatsoever. Save yourself the trouble and go to a different place. read more
