I had been to MV Nails before and had a great experience, which is why I decided to return. Unfortunately, today's visit was very different. I had an 11:00 a.m. appointment, and I appreciated that my appointment time was honored. However, throughout my manicure and pedicure, I felt rushed and didn't feel like there was much interest in what I actually wanted. I initially asked for ombré nails but was told my nail beds were too short, so I agreed to a milky white instead. Once I saw them, I felt they were a little too simple and asked if some glitter could be added. I was told that since three coats had already been applied, adding glitter would make my nails too thick and that I needed to mention it beforehand. I understand there may have been a technical reason, but the interaction made me feel uncomfortable asking for anything else. I also noticed that there was a lot of emphasis on tips and on customers paying with cash or Venmo. The way it was communicated felt quite pushy and made the experience even less comfortable. It was a Saturday and noticeably busier than my previous visit, so perhaps that contributed to the difference in service. However, as a paying customer, I don't think being busy should result in feeling rushed or receiving less attentive service. Unfortunately, I would describe both my manicure and pedicure today as mediocre. It's disappointing because my first experience here was so positive and was the reason I came back. After my experience today, however, I don't plan on returning. read more

I made a reservation 3 days ahead of time, came at a none busy time (right when they open Sunday), and still had to wait 35 minutes. The lady did a very quick job on me and told me it was ready when she didn't do enough layers to make the color look good(only one layer) and two nails were smogged. Had to ask her to fix it. Again, very quickly. Turned ok ok enough to wear for a few weeks but will not come back. read more

My friend and I booked appointments @1 for a pedicure and manicure, they started on me first and left my friend sitting for 45 minutes before anyone started on her, they also started on someone whose appointment was after my friend! After my pedicure they soaked my hands in nail polish remover and tin foil and walked away to help someone else, after a half hour someone did my manicure. All of that was bad enough but then the didn't do a good job on r nails and they started peeling two days later and , they didn't even clean under our nails. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a nail salon!!!! Save your time and money from this horrible place!! read more

came out of town for a pedicure and the nail technician used a cuticle clipper to rip a chunk of my skin out & made me bleed. no apology or acknowledgment of what she did, just told me that she put super glue on it & to wash it off later. she didn't even wait for it to stop bleeding to apply the gel polish, just tried to cover it up with glue. it hurt SO bad and was so unnecessary. she used glue to not have to wait for it stop bleeding and get me out faster. The manicurist was detailed and gentle. I showed her a pic of the color I wanted and she knew exactly what it was. Came out just how I wanted. The prices are reasonable. Vanessa did a really great job on my nails! They are so sturdy and she perfectly captured what I was going for- dainty and spooky. I got the builder gel manicure. I am absolutely obsessed. The shop is new to PB as of May. I kind of hit them at a weird time of day when it was really busy and Vanessa was trying to manage a lot of customers and my manicure did take quite a long time. I wasn't angry about it nor did I complain but Vanessa was very aware and offered me a small discount on my nails to make up for the inconvenience which I appreciated greatly. Came back and was honestly so disappointed each time with the service. I showed up to my appointment and while getting my prior nails removed, the nail tech was clearly rushing to get my nails off with the drill to the point where she was burning off my nail beds and was telling me it was because my nails are sensitive. (I have been going to Vanessa for the last few months so if my nail beds are sensitive it would have to do with her technique to take off my nails since I haven't been with another nail tech prior) I told her to stop because it hurt and she grabbed my hand back and continued drilling it even though I told her it was burning and she goes "just one more second almost done" as she sees im clearly uncomfortable. She had a client that came in while doing my nails so I obviously knew she was rushing which frustrated me as I booked an appointment because I hate feeling rushed. To be fair she did do my nails great so that was nice but that type of behavior is unacceptable, i will not be coming back! read more

If you want an acrylic pedicure do NOT come here! I asked multiple times if they were able to do an acrylic pedicure, even provided inspiration pictures, and they assured me they could do it. Throughout the service I spoke up about the square shape that I wanted after the tech continued to round the nail. After it was clear the tech was truly unable to provide what I asked for, I asked her to just remove everything. She then said she would have to start over to get the desired outcome, but at that point 2 hours had gone by, and I did not trust her to correctly do the pedicure. My boyfriend got a regular pedicure, and it was good. When I went up to pay I was told it was $70 total, but when my boyfriend came up to join me they changed the price to $85. When I questioned why they changed the price I was met with an iPad being shoved in my face as they told me to pay. They were unwilling to compromise even though they were unable to deliver on what they assured me they could do, and for the lack of better words, bullied me into paying full price. I went to a different nail shop to get my toes done, and they told me the acrylic was sloppily done, and the person who did them was clearly rushing (Angel Nails San Diego if you need a reputable place). Overall, I'm incredibly upset with how they decided to handle the situation, and will not be returning. I hope my review can save someone their time and money. read more

This salon was recommended to me by a friend and after seeing the 5 star rating, I had to give it a try before my event this weekend. I usually do gel nails but opted for powder because the technician said it would last longer. I liked the color and chrome application on my finger nails but they were super chunky. I didn't realize it until I left the salon so I didn't have the chance to ask the technician if this could be fixed. 7/10 of the nails were noticeably thick and wide compared to what they look like naturally/with polish. I had to go back to get them fixed. They were shaved down but still had a thick wide look to them. I would give the initial polish application a 2.5/5 but I appreciated how kind they were to try and fix it. I'm not happy with the end results for my fingers but considering the clean facility, customer service, and a good pedicure, I'll give this a 3.5/5. I'll round it up since Yelp doesn't do half stars. Walked into the new MV Nails on a Monday afternoon. I was greeted quickly and able to sit right down. My nail tech, May, did a wonderfully thorough job with my cuticles. The painting was precise, two coats of funny bunny and one coat of bubble bath. She even recommended I add chrome powder and I am so glad I did. She did not take care of my big toe as I requested The fill started, then she left to do someone else, I waited 25 minutes, then another girl did some, then the original girl came back.
