DELICIOUS! Wow... their Paris breast MOIST AND FLUFFY?! The blue berry mousse was Light and Oh so sweet, I could eat it breakfast morning or night! The the fruit tart was also if not better in a tie with Kneaders it was delectable. The only reason their getting a 4 and not a 5 was in the Paris breast the strawberries on top were new, bright, and THRIVING, but the berries on the inside tasted and looked old. I also felt very rushed with the service, but the building and employees were nice and I would most Definitely visit again. read more

Excellent service, great variety of baked goods that are gluten free which is really nice and they taste awesome compared to most. The restaurant is clean and welcoming if you want to stay and have a meal while you are there. This breakfast is clearly the best in town winner. I'm so glad to have such a great restaurant to visit. Bacon avacado omelette...fresh, seasoned well, perfect bacon. The hash browns could have been browned more but still great. French toast... Best priced bakery in town, that's a fact! The cakes are so pretty minus the pretty penny to get it. I believe I got a typical 6 in round Oreo cake for $16.99. Perfect size, perfect flavor. Their frosting is ON POINT! The best part of my chocolate peanut butter cake was the pb frosting- perfectly buttery smooth and oh so delicately gourmet. My one dislike was that the cake, though great on flavor, was lacking in texture. It was a spongy cake, kinda like what you'd get from a locally grocery store cake. If that's your thing, welp, I've found your new favorite bakery! Come and get it! It's just not my thing. They also have a large, inexpensive lunch menu: sandwiches and salads and other pastries, including a whole wall of donuts. We're new to the Lehi/American Fork area. I'd driven by this bakery many times in its new location on the main street. For some reason I had always assumed that it was a donut shop that would close early in the day. Finally stopped in here with my daughter the other day and found that all my assumptions about this place were wrong! Avenue Bakery has a large store with a retail section and several nicely spaced tables for people who want to eat in. They sell breads, donuts, muffin tops (awesome!), and had many gluten-free offerings. They also make a wide range of amazing-sounding sandwiches, crepes, breakfast foods, and gelato. We got a brie and bacon (I think?) sandwich, an apple fritter (the largest I'd ever seen), and a lemon donut. All were truly excellent. My only request would be a bit more brie on the sandwich. read more

SPECTACULAR! I ordered a cider and the Turkey, Bacon, and Avocado sandwich, and the gluten-free bread was out-of-this-world delicious. The cider was also superb, though it was served so hot it took half an hour to cool before I could drink it without burning my tongue. Not quite sure how the reviews are so good. The bacon on my turkey bacon avocado was raw, there wasn't any avocado but there was some guacamole that was almost sort of turning brown already like it had been left out for a while. The sandwich was supposed to be on a bread, but was on a Croissant. And lastly I can't really get mad about this but the turkey was sliced lunch meet turkey stacked on top. Not real fresh turkey. Safe to say I will not be coming back, however I got a crepe that was very good, which is why I gave it 2 stars. The gelato looked kinda gross, and the treats and baked goods all looked amazing. If I where to come back it would be for donuts and treats and crepes. Stay away from the lunch options here. read more

It was my first time going there. I went there for my birthday on Nov 20th. My boyfriend told the owner that I have a gluten problem. She said the GF options were on the white shelves by the door. In all honesty, not very many options to choose from. I got the variety package of muffin tops. We drove home as I ate the blueberry muffin top. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted GREAT! A couple days later, my ear starts to swell up and itch (as a result of eating gluten). I was very disappointed. It still is itching and the swelling has gone down a little bit. I checked the bottom of the package and it said, "PROCESSED IN A FACILITY THAT CONTAINS WHEAT" and so forth. The store says "gluten free," but I really think it's meant for people that are casually gluten free and not for people who have celiac disease or gluten intolerance (like I do). So if you're celiac or have a gluten intolerance, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Girlfriend had the gluten-free cupcake. It was dry and bland tasting. the chocolate cake part of the cupcake had a diminished chocolate taste and the cream on top was like whipped cream, JUST the cream, no vanilla or spice or sugar. tasted like whipped milk. Had me perplexed. The desert I had was supposed to be some kind of chocolate mouse dome with red velvet gnash coating. the consistency was delectable, creamy and thick cool when it hit my tongue but the chocolate tasted like wax. The shopkeeper was unhelpful in identifying their miss-labeled display so the service wasn't anything to note. The decorations and ambiance are cute and classic in the terms of a bakery. Today was my first visit. I was disappointed that they don't (or didnt) have chocolate cake with glaze. That seems to be pretty basic and they didn't have a spot for it! I got an orange/cranberry muffin top that was wonderful! It was moist and flavorful. I also ordered a blueberry with glaze and was disappointed on that one. It tasted stale. One suggestion I would make is to have some savory options. I only saw three flavors of bagels. It would have been amazing if they offered a quiche or savory tart to go with all their sweet options. With the mixed reviews I was hoping for the best as I know some people can be on the harsh side but I have to agree with the reviewers that said everything was just so so. I ordered a breakfast panini and after waiting 30 min for it to come out while there were only about 6 or 7 people eating in or ordering for take out, it was very average and not really panini. More like grilled Texas toast. It was on the slightly dry side so needed sauce also which they don't provide or maybe you have to ask. I also ordered an assortment of donuts (glazed, pb chocolate, caramel, lemon, and another I forget) and they were all on the mediocre side. Glazed is usually where you can tell if the rest are going to be good or not and it was the least favorite of all the donut places I've been to in the SL and UT valleys. No real dough flavor, texture kind of mushy, and warming up in the microwave didn't help either. The bagels are not chewy so they're more puffy bagel shaped bread that are slightly chewier than regular bread and light in taste for a bagel. Nothing resembling NY bagels but if that's your taste then you might like them. If I'm craving donuts in Utah valley I'd much rather go to Lehi Bakery or even Provo Bakery in that order. Mountain Donuts up in Ogden is the best on the Wasatch Front and Fresh Donut and Deli not so bad in the SL valley. read more

I came here specifically to try the chocolate peanut butter dessert and the chocolate dome. When I asked, the person helping me seemed a bit put off and explained that their pastry chef was sick and didn't come in today. So, that was a big disappointment. But, I decided to try a jelly, doughnut, and a King auman (sp?). After a few bites of each, I put them where they belonged -- in the trash. Maybe it's a good thing that those chocolate desserts were unavailable, but I have to believe that they're better than what I got. Good luck. Ps. Hidden on a little side street in American Fork, it's probably not the most commonly known place. That being said, I'm torn on how to rate this place. The baked goods, at least the donuts and muffin tops are delicious. Really, the muffin tops are my favorite things. Moist and flavorful. Definitely the way to go. At least a 4-star rating for those. The entree items I've had however don't live up to the rest. The breakfast panini was good but average. The French toast was unfortunately just not good. Very doughy and undercooked. And then didn't even taste good besides. Overall, I'll average it at a 3. The pastry items look delicious and are beautiful although I haven't yet had those. So it's worth a visit as long as you pick the right things. read more

A little disappointed with Avenue bakery today, i went at 9 am and they open at 6:30 am, however even at 9 they hardly have any pastries ready for the day. However they did have a good selection of donuts but no pastries. Also my creme brûlée was not toasted at all. Their crepes are okay, not the best but not the worst. Because that's what Avenue Bakery is. In a world of precious foods and shiny veneers, fancy facades, and glossy marketing, Avenue is none of those things. Avenue is the humble donut: comfortable, simple, home. Tucked away on a small side street in American Fork, you wouldn't know it was there unless you were going on purpose. You park out front and enter the humble house of bake through the front door. To your right, a small seating area. To your left and ahead, bakery cases stuffed with the most comforting of comfort food desserts you can imagine. Eclairs, brownies, cupcakes, and of course, the donut in many shapes, sizes, and sprinkle configurations. This is not to say that they're not creative. They're putting some thought into toppings and I did hear that they have a donut with a Pop Tart inside of it (I didn't know this, so I didn't ask about it) but I did get to have a cupcake and have stopped in a couple of times for donuts. Look, this is someone's mom/grandma who was really talented in the kitchen, who brought treats to family/friend/church functions for years, and was encouraged to open their own shop when the space became available. Is that the real story? I have no idea, but it's such hometown food with homemade vibe that it's the story I've concocted in my head. It just feels like a dessert potluck, only everyone who comes is a pro at their specialty. I want to say this: Life is indeed about going out and finding extraordinary adventures. It's about finding crazy flavors in unexpected places and choosing to seek out those wild mysteries and having the bravery to leave the house and captain your exploratory vessel. But know what? That's equally challenging as going out and finding that simple donut, that expected flavor that you know you can wake up to, or grab on a Saturday morning, and just be home. I got an assortment of basically every pastry and sweet, as I wanted to be sure I covered their whole menu. I didnt try their hot food but as far as pastries and sweet goes it was just okay. Nothing stood out besides the apple fritter. That in particular was good, but everything else we tasted and tossed. The cream filled things were particularly weak and tasted old. Not a bad place to go if you need an apple fritter but their is nothing that pops with flavor or originality. They have alot going on and are trying to be 4 different restaurants. Would not recommend. Went in today (Saturday). Their display was almost completely empty. Only one person working in the front, line to the door. Each time someone would get a dozen and select donuts... they kept running to the back and then come out and then back... ridiculous!! Waited half an hour for a couple donuts and a latté. Our favorite place for donuts and specialty treats like mini cheesecakes, eclairs, and chocolate covered strawberries. We love that this is a locally owned bakery and will support them as long as they keep cooking up delicious pastries and baked goods. 5pm on the dot they'll sell out of whatever donuts are left in the case at a discounted price (although we usually go earlier and happily pay full, reasonable, prices). I've called a couple days in advance to order several dozens of their classic glazed donuts for parties and gatherings. I appreciate how accommodating they are to add our order to their regular workload. The cards and tags available are some of THE CUTEST I've ever seen, so that's a nice option if you're picking up a last minute gift or can't get to the store for stationery. read more

A friend and I stopped by here yesterday around 5:30pm. It was a bit picked over by the time we got there, but they still had several options. There was a small case of pastries, cupcakes, and other sweets, some full cakes, and then a larger selection of doughnuts. We went with the éclair and the "better than anything" cupcake. The cupcake tasted exactly like the homemade version of that cake by a racier name, which can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. My favorite was the éclair, which featured decent pâte à choux, a creamy sort of pudding-y filling (which I preferred over the more traditional Bavarian cream), and chocolate buttercream. I also liked that it was a smaller size. They have some basic seating available, and we chose to eat our treats there, but they had only one lone napkin. The young girl working up front was sweet, but not very helpful when asked for suggestions. She then mysteriously disappeared-in fact, there were no employees available when we left, although thankfully we didn't need anything. The treats were good, although they didn't blow me away. I'm from California originally and I was visiting Utah for the week and wanted to find a smaller breakfast joint than what i'm used to. Found this cute little place and ordered the Meat Lovers omelette, SO yummy! The salsa absolutely makes it in my opinion.
