Each person gets their own individual pots and they have a variety of broths to choose from. I ended up with the Chinese herbal broth and it went nicely with the goma and ponzu dipping sauces. They have a self-serve bar for sauces, vegetables, raw seafood, and even sushi! The sushi was surprisingly good for an ayce shabu spot and there were 4-5 roll options to choose from. I really appreciate it how clean the entire space was and the tables weren't too close together, and they had ample booths. This place is a hidden gem. I didn't know they existed until recently. Their pricing is pretty good given the high quality meat they offer and the wide selection of their self serve bar. Not only is the ambiance nice and cozy, their service is also very good. I really enjoyed their Wagu cuts but all the other meats were actually also pretty good. I came on a Saturday night with a party of 7 and even though the wait was very long, the host was super accommodating and kind so that we could be seated as soon as possible. It was about an hour so I would recommend joining the waitlist early or calling ahead of time, especially if you want to sit on the patio since there's limited space there. As I sampled their broths, I immediately knew I had to try to Tom Yum. I love Tom Yum, but what I sampled was not what I've ever had. Overall, the broths that I sampled were not up to par with what I've had at other places. I was a bit disappointed. The goma was really thick and the yuzu ponzu didn't quite deliver for me either. For the $24 lunch price point, I felt that the meat was decent. Upon arriving the hostess saw me checking in on their tablet, came to get me and seated me right away. YAY! After being seated we were greet by our waitress Michelle, she was nice and attentive. I also really appreciated that she we could sample the broths they had beforehand. I went with the Szechuan, a smooth bone broth with a spicy little kick. They had a lot of good options at the vegetable, seafood, noodle, and sauce bars. But because we went with the premium dinner package ($36.99), we unlocked what really sets them apart. They carry Waygu and a lot of other marble meats, DELICIOUS! I also really enjoyed that they had a little mini sushi bar and it was actually pretty good for not being a specialty sushi restaurant. They had a few unique broths and sauces (hibachi, Thai chili) that I haven't seen in other places and broths weren't overly salty. It's also so rare for a place to have both the Chinese bbq satay/shacha sauce and the standard ponzu + goma sauces. I wish they had soft tofu and not just firm/frozen. You can sample a few broths before picking. Meat slices are thin but good quality, and they come with only 3-4 slices per plate. Service (5/5): multiple servers/bussers constantly roaming and immediately removing empty dishes and asking if you need more meat. We actually don't eat that much meat so maybe one suggestion is to implement a card system where if you want more meat, you can flip it to one side, and if you want to take a break, you can flip it to the other side. We're probably the minority, but I wonder if some people would find it tiresome to constantly say they don't want more meat and just want to eat vegetables lol. First my impression as soon as I entered, was dark, not like typical shabu restaurants. A little modern, contemporary style dining vibes w high ceiling, comfy tables. Well organized. Each person can have their own small pot, but they use the electic burner. That is why it takes way more time to boil the meats and veggies compared to gas burner. You need little patience....until boiled. Haha.... I chose premium shabu plus rolls, and basic kombu (seaweed) broth, my hubby got Tonkotz broth. I checked the rolls, not many variety of special rolls but still including salmon, tuna unagi, crunchy rolls. My wife found a new shabu restaurant in HB. We decided to discover how's the quality and service there for lunch. Lunch is cheaper, $23.99 premium lunch $27.99 including special rolls. Dinner is $36.99. Today is Friday but not many people. We are late to get there around 1:30. They open at 11 and lunch ends at 3. This restaurant has almost same concept like Miss shabu in Buena. park. First, we both liked the comfy tables, each person has own small pot. You don't need to share the big pot. The concern was the pot didn't boil fast as soon as we added the meats and veggies. They use the electricity not the gas. Take so much time to wait until boiled completely. Needed Patience!!! Let's talk in detail, for broth, I chose donkotz broth and my wife got the basic Kombu. She likes dipping so she wants the basic unseasoned broth all the time. For appetizers, koyza, chapchae, fried chicken, ddeokbboki, and some more but we liked ddekbokki. For meats, not many choices for lunch premium. We got brisket, rib eye, and blade meats. If you want other meats like wakyu, you pay more for dinner. Anyway, the meats were tender, so thin.... The veggie bar and seafoods, a variety of veggies including my fave mushrooms, spinach, cabbages, bean sprouts, etc, shrimps, mini octopus, tiny mussels, squids, etc. I liked most of seafoods but the mussels, wow!!! Too tiny...haha. I couldn't pick them up.... I've never seen those tiny mussels at the shabu restaurants. We didn't like the noodles in shabu. We only had meats, veggies, and seafoods. I didn't try any special rolls. My wife tried some salmon, unagi, crunchy rolls, and tuna. She is a picky eater for sushi, rolls. She said just test today, no more rolls next time. For the dipping sauces, pretty much same, basic and spicy..... Overall our first experience today was not bad. Kind of late to start lunch after 1:40. But we had a great time to enjoy hot shabu w soju. I like hot sake but they only have cold sake bottles. I had only peach flavor soju. We got the deal today, one soju $10.99 , and the 2nd is $0.99. The server asked us if we are over 65???? Might be good discount for the seniors. Only problem I don't like was tiny mussels. Hopefully they have regular size mussels. First time here after seeing all these IG posts about this place. $33 for dinner with regular meat and $37 for premium meat with is their wagyu + sushi. Honestly, just went with a 33 option and it was actually good enough. The meat was marbled just right. The vegetable selection and their seafood selection was supreme. It reminded me of the broth version in Cerritos, but cleaner and much more well kept. Less of a crowd, and you get your own pot with their own specific broth. I opted for the Takatsu broth and it turned out phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed this place and their service was excellent! I would come back here next time the broth was really good. read more

My friend took me out to try this place as she really enjoyed it the last time she came. Her judgement was spot on - we had a great time. It was midday during the week, so we were able to get seated right away. It wasn't completely packed, but there were tons of people enjoying their meals. Service was wonderful - everything was explained quickly, we ordered our broth (tom yum for me, spicy miso for my friend) and then got down to picking our meats/veggies. Meats had to be ordered, but veggies/seafood could be picked up at the bar. Everything looked fresh at the bar as well as all the meat that came out. We enjoyed ourselves and how easy it was to go back for more veggies/seafood. We ordered a few more meats, but were stuffed after a couple of rounds. The tom yum soup was delicious - the right amount of tangy flavor, but could have used more spice (I'm sure it's just my personal preference, though). The atmosphere while we were dining was fun - the music wasn't too loud, but it was lively. This would be a great place for friends, family and/or dates. I know most people skip the rice to save room for all the protein, but I can't help myself-it doesn't feel like a proper meal without it. I am THAT Asian. The sushi bar was another highlight. I grabbed about five rolls, all fresh and well‑made. Overall, between the attentive service, thoughtful touches, and quality ingredients, this place is definitely worth a visit.
