This was plenty for our party of 3 | IG @moniquedao

I saw an ad on Instagram of this place that looked pretty delicious. I also saw that they have a happy hour menu for $29.99 which is kind of a decent price for all you can eat. So I brought my BF and a friend to do HH last night. For some reason, I was under the impression that the meats would be marinaded, kind of like Gyu Kaku. But I was surprised none of the meats were marinated, except for one. Even though the meats were good quality, grilling rendered them dry and flavorless. Thankfully, they had dipping sauces to make up for the lack of flavor. I do like that they had all the typical sides that you would find at a KBBQ restaurant. I asked for garlic and they came out unchopped, which made it a little bit hard to cook with the meats. The restaurant is clean & spacious, and the service is friendly. But I'm not sure if I would come back just because I would've loved for the meats to have flavorful marinade.

I have not had AYCE bbq in a while so we decided to check this place out. We made a reservation online for a Saturday night but when we arrived, there were plenty of seats open. I was interested in this place because it was "Japanese" style but after our experience, it just felt like a more typical Kbbq. We got the gold menu and ended up only enjoying the marinated boneless shortrib and the limited 1 per person cut (forgot what that was). It was good but I am not sure if it's worth the price for just one really good cut of meat. There were also Korean sides like kimchi, rice paper, radish, and potato salad. The cucumber side tasted off for some reason but the experience just felt like I was at kbbq instead of Manpuku or Anjin. That said, the service was great! They were very attentive and checked up on us often. Maybe the platinum menu would have been better to try for more variety but we were still full at the end. The gold menu is 3.5* but the services is 5*.

This place doesn't miss! The staff are all super friendly and helpful. They really stay on top of it! The food quality is excellent. It's always a great experience eating here. I'm glad I live so close to it! Loving the happy hour menu. It's a bit smaller than the other AYCE tiers but you still get great options plus BOGO sake and Kirin!

Not sure what happened at Shinobu. Came last night and got the platinum. Meat quality has fallen off. Kobe trio is still good, as well as the prime short rib, but for the price, this doesn't compare to the Chubby Cattle's or even Grams, more locally. Banchan is now by request and some of the recipes for them changed, and not in a good way. The other apps weren't the best either. For instance, the fried rice came out super salty, and the shrimp buns were underwhelming. We also noticed the servers kept turning down the grill, and it wasn't like we were going through grill changes. Think it's more strategy to slow down the cooking, and therefore eating. Still no wait, but a tad busier than normal. Not sure if there was a management change, but sad this place isn't like it used to be.

Made a reservation on Yelp for Friday happy hour at $29.99. They were already busy on the 1st hour! Love that they have a mobile cart of banchan/side dishes that you can pick and choose from to prevent wastage. 4 big TV's showing the Ducks game. The $29.99 deal is fantastic - still lots of choices of meats and shrimps up for grabs. They proactively change the grills timely. The servers and bussers are attentive, service is friendly and efficient. I ordered a $10 orange cocktail and it was yummy too. Ended the meal with a strawberry sherbet. Lots to like in this restaurant - we look forward to visiting its sister resto a few doors down : Shinobu Shabu.

Still one of our favorite spots!!! Came and ran into Timmy!!! He was our first waiter here ever, when we first tried this place back in 2020!!!! It was so good to run into him and he remembered us They have a new happy hour $30 menu. So worth it if u don't care for too many appetizers. Friday night at 6pm, there was no wait ! Waiters are all attentive and kind.

I came here with some coworkers after work on a Monday night just in time for happy hour at 5pm, which is nicely priced at $29.99 per person. This place has always been on my list of places to try, but I was turned off by the pricing. I don't eat enough, especially red meat, to justify spending that much for their regular tiered prices on AYCE. So when I saw this happy hour price, I knew it was time to check it out. The place is clean and service was good. I was impressed by how the servers could keep up with our party of 11. They were nice enough to split checks to accommodate our large group. I was surprised by the amount of items on the happy hour menu. You do get a good selection of meat, appetizers, and ice cream options at the end. Happy hour also includes a BOGO with a selection of their drinks like beer draft and house sake. We ended up paying roughly $45 per person in total including tax and tip, which included a good number of drinks ordered.

This place was okay. I wanted to try Japanese bbq since I've never had it before and wanted to see what differences there were with Korean bbq. Honestly there wasn't much and I couldn't even tell. I'd assume that Japanese bbq uses coal over propane grills like Korean but these were indeed propane. I noticed there was a waitlist on Yelp which I signed up for just in case but when we went in it was pretty empty other than a couple other tables. The waitlist wasn't necessary so you could just walk in. We stopped in during happy hour for $30/person and that was the menu we chose since we're not used to eating so early. The meat options were small and no seafood options. All the sides were available. It was ok for the price point since they did have some good cuts of beef. I didn't understand their concept of ordering sides. The 1st round of sides you ordered on the cart. Then anything after that you can order through your server. That was kind of odd because either the cart should make its way around again or we should be able to initially order from the waiter.

I came by again and took advantage of the $5 off the normal menus for their happy hour. The Silver menu shines over the happy hour menu if you enjoy appetizers, wagyu, or short rib. Service was just as excellent as the previous time I visited, and the interior was somehow even cleaner! The bathrooms have mouthwash, too!

Been here for years. New happy hour menu is great ! I LOVE the corn cheese, they use mozzarella instead of that Mexican blend that some places use to cut corners. Ask for the garlic!! It was so good especially with beef belly after letting it soften in oil. Happy hour was $30 and had enough variety for me. Great quality meat and this place is never busy when I go, but I like that you can put reservations in (having the option is good) I've gotten the pricier menus before and they are worth it if you enjoy the more premium meats.

TikTok made me do it! Saw a TikTok for Shinobu Japanese BBQ so my friend and I went to try it out on Thursday. They've got a Happy Hour menu from 5pm to 6:30pm and then again from 8pm to I think 9:30 or 10pm. You scan a QR code at your table for the various menus. Banchan/ sides are brought over on a cart for your first round. You pick which ones you want and they give you little dishes of them. They're not pre-placed on your table which I really like. Because I don't eat half of them. So it's always a waste when they're already at the table and then just get thrown out. Less food waste is always a good thing. It was a limit of 4 meats per order. We started with the Waygu beef belly, beef brisket, garlic pork belly and garlic shrimp. I was actually shocked that on a happy hour menu, there was no chicken and only various beefs, pork's and shrimps. I would have thought there would be very limited beef, 1 pork and a few chicken selections. So was very happy that there were no chicken on the menu. The pork belly was the first thing that went on the grill. And it flamed up due to all the fat on the pork belly. Cooking to make sure it was fully cooked meant burnt pork belly. So that wasn't ideal. Next time... maybe will put it NOT on the vent but on the top portion of the grill perhaps? Beef belly and brisket were both good and delicious. Shrimp was delicious, but not very garlicky. Good thing I had asked for garlic, which came in a little aluminum cup with a little bit of oil and maybe pepper? Put that container right on the grill and let it kind of fry in the oil, then ate it with a bit of meat, wrapped in radish paper. So good! 2nd round, we got more beef belly and brisket. 3rd round, we got 2 other cuts of beef and the veggie platter. I was surprised they had asparagus on the platter. But loved them grilled. YUM! Wasn't impressed with either sauces. Both were a bit too salty for my liking. Good thing the beef with the garlic and grilled jalapeños went well together and I didn't feel like it necessarily needed the sauces. We made our reservations for 5pm when they opened for dinner so the place was empty upon arrival. By the time that we left about 7pm, it was fairly busy with some bigger groups. Over-all a good experience. Happy hour menu was worth the $29.99 price tag. Would come back again.

And I am SO glad we did because everything about our experience was seriously a 10/10! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman at the front greeted us and escorted us to our table, and right away we felt welcomed and comfortable. Our server, Quang, was absolutely the sweetest! He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We're already talking about coming back and bringing our family and more of our friends so we can all enjoy it together. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere. 10/10 experience. They have to-go plates you can pick up of 3 spring rolls each, xoi (Vietnamese sticky rice). They even have a hot deli where you can pick up cheap entrees to bring home and eat with rice. I ordered the BÚN THỊT NƯƠ'NG CHA? GÌO TÔM (grilled pork/shrimp egg roll vermicelli)$16, an order of the grilled pork spring rolls (2) $5.50, and an order of their grilled shrimp spring rolls (2) $6. The waiter was very polite and brought out our food within 10 minutes. The service was great. The owner was wrapping fresh egg rolls in the back. My dish was delicious and packed with so much flavor! The grilled pork had a nice char, and the portion was bigger than at other restaurants. There were three egg rolls in my bowl and plenty of greens. The only thing was the vermicelli noodles tasted a little undercooked. I look forward to trying other dishes here, like the pho, broken rice, mi quang (Hue turmeric noodles with pork and shrimp), and banh xeo (pork and shrimp crepes). Happy eating! Not around the area, but in town for vacation. First time visiting this place and it was great!…read more The service was fast and the staff were friendly. Our waitress was always there when we needed her and would check up on us consistently! The place is very spacious, music was lively, and overall great atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean and it had a mouth wash dispenser including the cup As for food and drinks, everything was so delicious! Yuzu Lemonade was very refreshing and was a nice mix of the flavors. The yuzu and lemonade didn't overpower each other, and a nice touch of the mint leaf! Kei Coconut Ube had a nice taste to it. The sweetness was nice, super purple in color, and worth trying at least once. Drink definitely does not look or taste like a beer so think of it as a sparkling Ube drink when you try it. Beef Tongue appetizer was very tasty and the appearance was pretty. The sauce was very delicious with a hint of citrus. Beef Bowl Udon was delicious as well. The udon noodles are in the middle of the thickness level. Broth was nice and refreshing, and the beef belly was super soft and tasted amazing. Seafood Tom Kha Ramen was really good. Seafood in it were shrimps, scallops, and squid/calamari. Not too spicy, but had a nice kick to it. Veggies were nice and mixed well with the seafood ramen! Unfortunately, the eggs do not come with the udon or ramen, but they do have free unlimited ramen noodles!!! They let you get it for the udon broths as well! Would definitely come back to this place when I'm back in this part of town!

We ordered: Uni Pasta - amazing, must try Skewers Chicken Heart, Eel, and Enoki wrapped bacon Takoyaki - comparable to japan Salmon and yellowtail carpaccio - very very delicious and refreshing We came on a Saturday at 7pm and didn't have to wait for a party of 2, however the space was already pretty full and there was a bit of await around 8pm. I would recommend coming early or booking a reservation for larger parties. We were served waters right away. Our server was very attentive and our orders came out very quickly. Parking was very easy as the restaurant sits in a large plaza. I also appreciated the interior design of the space. I would highly recommend this spot. I will be coming backfor their ramen and to try their other menu items.
