This place gets a solid 3 plus rating from me. The sushi and sashimi was good, just not great. I thought the fresh water eel was just ok. The sashimi was my favorite part of the meal including the salmon. They had a piece of toro, Uni, and some abalone. Uni tasted a bit on the older side. I also tried a salmon skin hand roll, a bit on the dry side. I would add avocado to it next time. Overall, a good experience.

Honestly one of the better ayce sushi places as they have a large selection and all of the sashimis are so good. Their rice to fish ratio is small too. They have the premium add on which includes the ramen bar which is a plus. A kind of a hole in the wall place and really enjoy the environment!

Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was super delicious! We came on a weekday night and it was not crowded at all. We opted for their premium menu which includes sashimi and oysters. We got an assortment plate of salmon, yellowtail, bluefin tuna, octopus, and abolone. The sashimi was beautifully presented and very fresh as well! We also had 2 dozen raw oysters which were great. We ordered our favorite sides from here like the broiled mussels and shrimp tempura. They also had soft shell crab salad and popcorn chicken as their new items and both were delicious! Tasted like popcorn chicken from a boba shop. Would highly recommend.

AYCE Sushi is a popular all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in Huntington Beach, Orange County. It's known locally for offering unlimited sushi and sashimi at a fixed price and is often busy during dinner hours. This was one of the first AYCE sushi spots in Orange County that is still around. Sake 2 Me in Tustin(now BOGO 50% Off) and Sushi Damu Tustin are also on that list. The quality of the fish here is just better compared to some of the other AYCE I've been to. I have also gone to their newly built one in SCM, and I just don't think it's comparable to HB. Maybe it's the sushi chefs, the way they prep it, the fish, or whatever it is, but there's just something special about this one. Overall, it's a great place to get your sushi fix. I'd recommend going with a group so that you can each order different items and try as much as your belly can handle.

I used to love going to this place when I lived in Huntington Beach. I will admit that the food and service have gone down since Covid. Hubby and I went for my birthday when we were in the area. The restaurant has definitely added new items such as a ramen bar and even popcorn chicken. Layout and service was just as I remembered. I'm not sure why but the food for the second round always takes forever to come out. The ice cream at the end is always a great way to end ayce sushi. Still a great place to come, just be prepared to wait.

Came here for the wife's bday, the food came out FAST! Really good deal all around. $40 per person, two of our older kids were half so $20 each and our two little ones were free. Gratuity included automatically for parties 5 or more absolutely hate that. But service was so good would've tipped very well regardless. Sushi here was awesome for ayce. Not tippy top but definitely good enough to come back, rolls were fresh and flavorful. Sashimi was a little too thick for my liking (see pics) but still great taste. Our kids especially loved the baked green muscles and udon noodles--both of which were included in ayce which was nice! Our 5 year old had four bowls of noodles to himself! My only real negative was the noise!!! We were right by a speaker and they were blasting Korean pop/ rap music like we were at a club. Also had a song dropping F bombs which was great for our very young kids to hear..... Other than that we really enjoyed the food as did our kids and we will definitely be back in the future

Great service! Food is what you expect from AYCE. I liked their Abalone, deep fry oyster, and baked scallop. Also nice that they allowed kids to eat non-AYCE menu while adults enjoy it. My daughter doesn't eat that much so it would have been a waste Mackerel is probably a pass. I'm ok with simple oshizushi style but they add the spicy.

I originally had very low expectations for this restaurant but was told it was really good so I decided to try it while in town and was not disappointed! It is an all-you-can-eat style menu, and I like that the portions are small enough to get a bunch of items and share with everyone in your group. Their menu has some of the most unique and interesting sushi rolls I have seen, and everything tasted amazing. The fish was fresh and a good quality, and there was a great rice to filling ratio. I was originally worried the sushi pieces would be really small, but each piece was large and packed with a lot of fish/filling. I particularly liked the riceless rolls but honestly everything we had tasted delicious. We didn't have a bad bite here. While sometimes it can be hard to get the servers attention, the sushi came out quick. If you order a bunch at once they tend to have it all on one plate so everyone can just grab what they want. There is a lot of seating inside but I can see how it can get packed quickly, especially if a lot of people come here with groups. I'm not sure how cost effective it is for a simple lunch/dinner, but a great place to go with a group and we had a blast trying sooooo many different rolls!

Piyathida R.

If you order sashimi here, the fish quality is slightly better than the regular sushi (you can really tell from the photos). The yellowtail was the best. For sushi, rice-to-fish ratio on the sushi was perfect, not too much rice. The oysters were also very fresh. Overall, for both food quality and price, I'd give this place a solid 4.5/5

This is our favorite sushi spot of all time!! we love coming here. Service is always great, we never have to wait too long to be seated, food is always phenomenal and prices are good too for AYCE sushi. My favorite items to order is the Diablo and the baked muscles. my husband's favorite is the AYCE crunch and AYCE specialty roll it's all so yummy! my kids love the edamame and teriyaki chicken. We definitely recommend this place, it's so great!

Its been a week since we visited. And i'm still dreaming about this place. My partner and I were traveling in LA when she wanted to go here before she left. We drove 2 hours in the LA traffic and were left full, happy, and looking forward to our next time. We came for sushi, left with 30 oysters in our stomachs! The price is well worth it. This was probably the best AYCE in the LA area. I admit that we went crazy on everything but nothing was sub par. The mindblower is the Heart Attack. I love monkey brains but I hate mushrooms and that was the best alternative I ever had. The service is on point. They got your sodas and drinks bottomless! If they go on autopilot and replace your sprite with water. They will fix that swiftly!! They had us till closing since it was empty on a Monday. But we ate an amazing 3 rounds

Three stars is generous in my opinion. My party of 9 stopped by here last Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday (his choice). The wait to get seated after providing our name and party count (everyone was present) - was about 30 minutes. Not sure why the wait - since when we entered, almost half the place was empty. A sign of things to come? Wished we had heeded it. It took almost 15 minutes for them to grab our drink order (all waters except for one diet coke). The waters came out, but the diet coke didn't. I went up to ask for it. Didn't realize until we left that we were charged twice for the Diet coke. Took another 15 minutes for them to pick up our first order. We were starting to suspect that the long wait was so we'd get full in between rounds. We made sure to increase the quantity of rolls to make up for the long wait periods in between servings. The rolls were okay - decent cuts of fish for each one. There's less rice here than other places. The volcano roll (Salmon, avocado, crabmeat) is probably my favorite. There wasn't any particular roll that was memorable for me. They all sorta tasted like they had the same base (rice, crabmeat, avocado), and different toppings. For a patron's birthday, the restaurant briefly turns down the light, and plays a happy birthday tune while the waiter brings out a slice of cake - pretty cool/on-the-spot sort of way to celebrate birthdays here. Service could've been better - we had to head up to the cashier to ask for water refills because even after asking for refills from the waitresses, we didn't get any. Since tip is automatically added for parties of 6 or more - you'd think that they didn't feel the need to work for any tips from us - which is likely why the service was lacking. Noise level was moderate - I found it amusing that BTS (the Korean boy band) was playing nonstop on their tv screens around the restaurant. Restrooms are clean. Parking is easy - I parked near the back where the entrance is, rather than deal with the hustle and bustle of the shopping center upfront. Overall, this could've been a great experience - but the excessive wait despite the half-full restaurant, the carelessness/wait for water refills - left a bad taste in almost everyone's mouth.

Alright, I have to first note, that this is the ONLY place I know that is AYCE Sushi that offers SASHIMI in the AYCE premium price. This was definitely a drive for me but very worth the price. Note that there is closer parking to the restaurant itself, although it is nice to take a walk after all that food. They do take reservations, so I believe this is great for birthdays or other celebrations. You can choose standard, premium or premium with AYCE Oysters. We went with that, and man there was so much food. It includes a one time order options like the Uni, Toro and even Abalone. There is even fresh wasabi on the sashimi boat they deliver. Some of my favorites were their heart attack, Toro, Abalone, Bluefin Tuna and their Spider Roll. The place is big and you can easily be able to have a 10 person long table. They have bday celebrations and they even have ice cream for dessert. I believe either the owner or the manager even gave a dessert that didn't have egg to my kid after hearing she can't have the ice cream. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be back when I need to get my sushi and sashimi on. If you are still wondering, if you like sashimi, it is a no brainer. Looking forward to my next visit!

Our salmon is raised in the clean cold waters surrounding the Faroe Islands.

What is the current price now for ayce ? Is the price for lunch same as for the dinner?

Thanks for your inquiry! First of all, our Lunch and Dinner/Weekend/Holiday menu is exactly the same, therefore lunch will be the better deal and get to avoid the dinner rush.…

For all you can eat it is $35 a person.

Is it normal to charge party of 5 automatic 18 percent tip? Usually it s for parties of 6 or more...

If it is not posted on the menu, or they did not tell you they were going to charge the 18% for your party before you were seated, then I would dispute it.

How much The price going on today? Oyster available? Thanks

As of last week, $44.95 with sashimi. I believe without is either $36.95 or $37.95. As far as oysters, I believe I saw a fried oyster on the ayce menu, but I believe there was a limit. Not sure about raw oysters.

Does this location still have fresh oysters included in the AYCE price? The other location stopped serving fresh oysters and we are super sad about it!

Yeah they stopped here too. Completly no more fresh oyster. Same here... so sad.. gotta find a new place that serve raw fresh oyster :)

They dont serve fresh oysters anymore, only the fried one.

Yes

What are the AYCE prices? Their menu and website don't seem to say.

$35 without ordering sashimi and $40 if you do order sashimi per person

Are you open on Christmas (12/15/2021)?

They are closed on Christmas Day, Saturday 12/25/2021.

Are you open tomorrow 12/24/21?

Yes, both locations are open normal business hours (noon-9pm.)

Are you open on December 26, 2021?

Yes, we are open normal hours (noon-9pm) at both or our locations on 12/26/2021.

Do they sell gift certificates?

Yes, they do.

Do they open on labor day?

They should be open, but I went today around 5pm and there was a sign that said they didn't have electricity today so they were closed. Didn't see any sign saying they would be closed tomorrow; unless they still don't have electricity, then maybe.

We had an order of Uni, a hand roll with Wagyu and Uni, a soft shelled crab appetizer and the Kiwami roll. Everything was so good. They obviously use high quality fish and ingredients. The server was proud that their Uni is Japanese Uni which is of higher quality than many other sources. The employees were very friendly. In fact we came back a week later and had a similar experience. This looks like a go to sushi restaurant for us.

My hope is that management can use this as constructive feedback to fix some obvious quality control and service issues. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing sushi experiences I've had in the past couple of years. For $22 total ($10 for the standard Tuna Roll and $12 for the standard Eel Roll, not a dragon roll which was I think close to $20 or over), the baseline quality and service just weren't there: * Portions & Value: Both rolls were cut into 5 pieces instead of the standard 8. Paying $22 for a grand total of 10 skimpy pieces is a tough sell on value alone, but the assembly made it worse. The rolls were haphazardly made, falling apart on the plate, and stuffed with minimal fish filling. * Freshness: The fish did not taste fresh and had a strange, off flavor to it--possibly an inventory turnover issue. Freshness is everything at a sushi bar, and having to worry about food safety after a meal is never a good sign. * Kitchen Execution: The $12 Eel roll arrived completely dry without any sauce. The server brought over teriyaki sauce when I had 2 pieces left as if they forgot to put it on. So I drenched the sushi in the sauce to hopefully cover the flavor only to realize he gave me teriyaki sauce for a rice bowl instead of standard unagi/eel sauce. * Management Response: When I brought up to the manager that the eel roll really was not good, she walked back to the kitchen, came back, and simply said, I spoke with the chef and he said it was normal. Bottom Line: Errors happen in restaurants, but brushing off customer feedback, using odd sauce substitutions, and serving loose, dry rolls with questionable fish quality shows a serious need for retraining. Hopefully, management takes a closer look at what's coming out of that kitchen. Look elsewhere in OC for sushi

Great tasting broth without being too salty. Yellowtail Jalapeño Roll was excellent. Had this type of roll at other places, but the one here just tasted more vibrant. Very refreshing with a good amount of spiciness. Akuma Roll was good but was different than I expected. Based on the name I thought it would have a more menacing presentation with a super spicy kick to it, but it was rather tame and too bright in presentation. It has 4 types of fish, avocado, spicy mayo, soy mustard, truffle ponzu sauce, and soy paper. Service seemed efficient as we got our food pretty quickly, despite being busy. However, it took a while for us to get our check at the end.

I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't :/…read moreI've been dying to try new sushi spots that have a good variety of vegan dishes. I saw this place on instagram and wanted to try it because I was in the area. Mangolada: the presentation of this roll was beautiful but for the taste it really wasn't for me. The "tuna" that it was topped with felt like it was marinated for too long or the flavors were just too strong. It was just a super off balance with the roll, I ended having to eat the roll without the "tuna" but the roll itself was decent just like a regular tuna roll but the fresh mango on top was a great choice, it was perfectly ripe. I really wish I could've enjoyed this roll as a whole. Taiga Roll: this was was overly sour for some reason, the topped fried "scallop" was either marinated with an overly sour sauce or just drizzled with a sauce but it was too much for me. That same sauce was also on the roll and it was just not the best to eat. I feel like I would've really loved this roll if it was paired with a different sauce, because the roll itself tasted like it was very fresh with the spring mix it had. Spicy edamame: my whole order was made through the phone and when I got there it was barely being packaged, so I'm not sure if the dish wasn't made right or if it's better to be eaten right when it comes out but the edamame was honestly dry in a way and was really missing sauce. I felt like it wasn't like a usual spicy edamame I've tried at other places, it wasn't as spicy or buttery. Baked salmon: my boyfriend tried this dish and he rated it a 7/10. It didn't come with spicy mayo that usually comes with it like at other places and the sauce it came with on the side was not a good choice for the roll. He ended up getting one of the other sauces that my rolls came with. Overall, I'm not sure if we stepped out of our comfort zone so maybe that's why we didn't enjoy our experience there or if it just wasn't up our expectations from the hype we saw on instagram.

The restaurant is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking, which made it very convenient. I really liked the ambiance inside. They had photos of many of their dishes displayed all over the walls, which made it easy to see what they offered and helped us decide what to order. The staff was also very attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our meal. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. Everything we ordered was delicious, and I honestly didn't have a single complaint. One of the highlights was the beef tongue skewer--it was incredibly tender and full of flavor. Every skewer we tried was excellent, and every dish exceeded my expectations. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. I'd definitely come back again, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a solid izakaya experience.

My husband and I have been coming to Niya for about five years, and unfortunately our last three…read morevisits have been extremely disappointing. I want to be clear that we've always enjoyed the food here, although even our most recent meal fell short. The real issue, however, has been the wait times, which have become unreasonable. Today my order was estimated to be ready at 7:15 PM. It is now 8PM and I am still waiting. For context, I placed the order at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, guests continue to arrive and are being seated. Spending nearly two hours waiting in the lobby for a to-go order--both today and on our last visit--is simply unacceptable. The waitress did offer a free dessert and a gift card, which I declined because, unfortunately, we do not plan on returning. She then offered $20 off the bill. While the gesture was noted, it does little to address the broader issue when the bill is $130 and the wait has been this excessive. If the owners are reading this, please take a serious look at how orders are being managed. If the kitchen cannot handle the volume, online orders should be paused until the system is fixed. This used to be a place we genuinely loved, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. At this point, however, the wait and frustration simply aren't worth it anymore.

Chirashi bowl was delicious- in all my years I haven't had rice this delicious. The coffee ice cream stuffed macron was a perfect end to our night out. I'm going back soon for the blue crab hand roll.

They do this near the end of the month on Mondays. Unfortunately, this is their 3rd to last event as they're going to be doing some restructuring. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Drinks were flowing and the sashimi was non-stop. Nigiri and handrolls were also delicious and I ate until I was close to puking. It was super cool to be able to cut into the fresh fish from Mexico. It's definitely tougher than it looks. I always thought it would be easy to cut like butter, but definitely takes a lot of strength and skill. There were other tasty tuna dishes like the miso soup, salad and crispy tuna steak. I recommend sitting at the bar so you can see Chef Yamasaki cut the fish in the front row seats. It was cool to taste the varying levels of fatness of the fish. The super chutoro was practically butter. They also offered tuna to go at $50/lb. Definitely worth it. The venue is their regular restaurant but with more tables in the middle. A little loud but definitely a fun time. There were 3 birthdays too! We had ice cream mochi for dessert and there were strawberry cakes for the birthday girls. We averaged about $170 after tip and it was worth every penny.

It is a very small restaurant and I'm glad I can support a mom and pop restaurant.

Today, the entire restaurant was full! It wasn't loud but you could hear a few of the larger tables conversing, not a real issue. The lunch menu has a great variety. The combos include sushi, tempura, teriyaki. And all combos include soup or cucumber salad and rice. I had my favorite today, teriyaki chicken. The chicken was grilled and flavorful, cooked perfectly! It also came with tempura shrimp and veggies. Nothing was greasy, nice and fresh too. All of their lunch specials are competitively priced, compared to other lunch specials, not necessarily Japanese food and not as good as Matsu. I can't wait until my next visit. Note the hours. They close for what I call a "siesta". Not sure what they call it in Japanese.

I have never met a server, a bartender, a cook that didnt go the extra mile for us! The owner herself is no different! They all are so fabulous! This past week we had Paul and his team of coworkers, Gabriel at the bar and I cant praise them enough! A really long, stressful month thus far resulted in needing a night out. A family member was finally back in town and we decided to meet at Matsu. While Amy was off, we were treated just as fabulously by Paul and team. Gabriel at the bar made excellent cocktails! Everything from our fresh nigiri to our teppan combo was delicious and fresh and nicely sized portions. I can go on and on, but if you want a darker, cool chill vibe, do the bar area. If you want teppan theatrics and fun, reserve the teppan. If you want a larger party restaurant atmosphere. They have that too! Its clean, its nice, its delicious!!! My favorite is the Lychee martini, my friends love the apple martinis, but I'll say, you can even just drink an iced water and you're still gonna love this place! Give it a try, you won't regret it! This is the type of business and employees I have zero problems supporting and recommending! Thank you for another great night Matsu!
