A great brunch spot! We loved the food, especially the grouper and the French toast. Shoutout to our server Megan who was friendly and welcoming. Also appreciated that the manager Chris stopped by our table to connect with us after issues with how the steak was cooked. Great service!

Honestly, the breakfast looked delicious. I made the mistake of coming for lunch. To put it simply, this is that relatively bland food menu made for people who have had seasoning and flavor restricted from their diets for health reasons... which is probably why the majority of the patrons were senior citizens at lunchtime. Everything is pretty dry and flavorless, which is good for those people watching stuff like sodium intake. Service was great. Decor was beautiful. Unless I'm up in NB for breakfast, I'm just going to go elsewhere. There's a lot if new places popping up in this area that look more foodie-friendly.

OMGEEEE!! This place is absolutely amazing! The food is freshly cooked, my wife loved the green beans! (She is picky about veggies) the chicken is freshly breaded and fried to order, so you have to wait a little for your food to be ready but IT IS WORTH IT! My Belgian waffle combo was delicious, waffle is nice and fluffy, not hard like some places! London, our waitress was attentive and joyful and kept my coffee cup full. Great job London! Lastly, the clam chowder tastes like something you would expect on a coastal city! I highly recommend Avery's Kitchen if you're looking for some down home cookin'! BTW, the coffee is superb!!

We've heard and read so many positive reviews of Avery's Kitchen so when my wife and I were deciding on where to go for lunch on a Saturday afternoon after playing some spirited games of pickleball, we opted to try Avery's Kitchen. Located in a fairly new cluster of buildings along FM 306 by the Homewood Suites, Avery's Kitchen's interior was pretty basic with a stylistic monogram "AK" dominating the dining area. We were promptly seated and were given a fairly extensive menu. It looks like they serve breakfast all day long. We started out with an order of Onion Rings. My wife then ordered their Fried Shrimp Po Boy served with fries and I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The onion rings were crispy outside and nice and tender inside. Always hated it when you bite into one and the ring of onion comes out with one bite leaving the breading behind. My wife liked the size of the shrimp that came with her po boy, unlike ones we've had where the shrimp are teeny tiny. The shrimp were cooked right, nice and tender and not chewy. Flavor was good. My dish, however, was just OK. Was hoping for a peppery gravy but theirs wasn't. The chicken was tender and crispy but I always think the peppery gravy is what puts that dish over the top. The green beans were just OK, but not as good as the Gruene beans from Gristmill in my opinion. All in all, a decent lunch but we prefer Gruene River Grill or Gristmill instead. Lunch for 2 came out to just over $48 with tip. Jim

Outstanding we were greeted with a smile. The server was courteous. The atmosphere is family friendly & clean. We only had to wait about 10 minutes and once we sat down a server took our order. The only mark is it took about 30 minutes but the FOOD made up for it. The food was hot and tasty. Those hash browns were out of sight. The portions are a lil small for the price but you do get full. I highly recommend you visit.

Is this All You Can Eat? .... Yelp had it listed as A.Y.C.E.

It's "all you can eat" shrimp, but I'm not sure what that really means

    Do they serve mimosas?

No, we don't sell alcohol, but we do allow you to bring in your own alcohol. B.Y.O.B. And we will even provide the orange juice, bottle chillers, and glasses. :)

One morning we decided to take him and walk around Gruene and eat lunch. There wasn't much going on there, so we got back in the car and headed elsewhere to eat. I had never been to Buttermilk Cafe, but my wife has been several times with the grandson and his parents. I got a little nervous when we went inside. It was a bustling place, and I was concerned that the wait might be too much for the baby. Fortunately, the wait was about five minutes. This place smells like heaven. The food that we ordered was wonderful. I had the house smoked salmon with toast points and a poached egg. My wife had a slice of quiche, an orange muffin, and some fruit. The baby had a turkey sausage patty, one of my toast points, and some of my wife's fruit. Everyone was super friendly. The staff were wearing football jerseys to celebrate the Super Bowl. Our server was terrific. The patrons were all happy and sociable.

We visited Mama's Café on a Saturday around noon. When we arrived, we were greeted right away and…read moreinformed that they seemed to be short-staffed. We were given the option of waiting about 15 minutes for a table or sitting in the bar area, so we chose one of the high-top tables in the bar. The café itself is very cute and has a charming atmosphere. The bar area has red neon lighting along the ceiling, which gives the room a distinctive glow. After ordering coffee and waters, we decided on the fried mushrooms, the meatloaf plate, and the Breakfast Pile. They never ended up refilling any of our drinks. The fried mushrooms came out first and were piping hot. They were served with both white gravy and ranch. The ranch was pretty tasty, but the mushrooms themselves were fairly bland and quite greasy. To be fair, deep-fried mushrooms aren't exactly a light dish, but I found myself adding salt to everything to bring out more flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meatloaf contained carrots, which was an interesting touch. The slices were very thick and firm, and honestly didn't resemble or taste like a traditional meatloaf. I asked for the gravy on the side and ended up dipping each bite into it, but the dish still wasn't my favorite. The green beans were the biggest miss for me. They had a mucky flavor that reminded me of mop water. The Breakfast Pile was decent enough: potatoes, sausage, eggs, and gravy layered together. Unfortunately, it also felt underseasoned and could have benefited from more flavor. The standout item of the entire meal was the biscuit with honey butter. They initially forgot to bring the honey butter, and I'm very glad we asked for it because it completely made the dish. The biscuit was warm, soft, and by far the most enjoyable thing we ate. Overall, Mama's Café has a cute atmosphere and friendly service despite being understaffed when we visited. However, most of the food felt underseasoned and lacked flavor. If you're looking for a cozy spot to sit and chat, it's worth a visit, but based on this meal, I probably would only come back if someone said it was their favorite restaurant and I try what they order
