When we first arrived, the front desk person was very kind, check in was easy. The location was convenient to I-81. The rooms are modern, and small which is fine for a couple. When we first arrived to our room, I checked the bed sheets and there was blood on them, it was as if they were not changed. The front desk person apologized and gave us another room which was fine. The walls are thin and you will hear everything. The beds are comfortable and it's an average hotel and great for the price. read more

The AVID hotel appears to be new. It is clean, and the staff is friendly. Some of them seem to be new on the job, So they are only able to answer the most basic questions. The room is clean. There is only a shower in mine - no bathtub. read more

Nice looking hotel and very friendly staff! The room was very bright, uncluttered, and welcoming; the bed, linens, and pillows were fabulous! Mattress was soft but not squishy- I feel like baby bear... it was just right! However, the clean look (sans rugs/drapes) that hotels like this have embraced, and that I love, come at a price when there's no attention to sound proofing. I can tell you all about my neighbor's dinner last night, and they were by no means loud. The ACT unit was one of the loudest I've ever heard- like the outdoor compressor at an apartment building kind of loud. The trick for me was to turn it on - I got used to that noise, and it drowned out everything else! The bathroom was nice, and the shower pressure ok. Dove soap products were fine with me. Always oogs me out to find other people's hair in the sink/shower, but it was really clean otherwise. The breakfast included a very cool drink station with still/sparkling water dispenser (love!), two types of coffee that someone who enjoys coffee would appreciate, and tea! They had Oikos yogurt- yum! Everything else (daily breakfast sandwich was mediocre sausage on a bad biscuit), toast, oatmeal, cereal- ok. The price for the hotel ($110) is really affordable and fits the experience. I'd stay here again for a break from the road! read more

What a great hotel. It's brand new, super quiet and comfortable. Everyone that works here is so nice. We arrived very late, and Jayson made sure we had everything we needed plus gave us an extra hour to sleep in. It's located right off the interstate, which is convenient for a long road trip. I feel a little bad rating this place 3 stars but ...yeah let's stick with 3. The biggest issue we had was the door to the bathroom. I don't know if it was poorly hung or if one hinge is loose but it's not square to the door jam and (really, I should award points that it's an actual door-door) you have to SLAM it to get it to shut the whole way. Which is bad enough but the walls are so thin, I feel like I need to leave our neighbors an apology note on their doors. The room is also economical in its use of space which is great for 2 people. Throw in a sleeping dog tho and maneuvering around each other gets a little tricky. The room comes with a fridge (no microwave but there is one in the common area of the lobby). There is no coffee maker in the room which is a trend I am not enjoying. There is a brew on demand coffee maker in the lobby which is great (and a massive step up from the brewed 3 hours ago and left to simmer) coffee offerings of yore. There is also a water dispenser that offers still or sparkling water which I didn't use but i thought that was cool. Breakfast was basic but kind of great in terms of things you can grab and go like nitro-grain bars. No waffles or pancakes tho. read more

Stayed here on our way to Charlotte for a NASCAR race when things were finally opening up. The hotel is newly built on the grounds of a former red roof inn that we stayed at years ago. This is obviously a huge upgrade. When we arrived Covid protocols were still in place and we couldn't use most of the amenities. The staff was awesome and in spite of the protocols went out of the way to accommodate us. The room was spacious and the bed was just as comfortable as our own. I will definitely make this our new stop when going to Charlotte from our place in Pennsylvania. read more

This hotel is okay. We have stayed here twice, both for hiking in Shenandoah. The place is clean and it does the job. There are snacks and games you can buy in the front lobby, which is a nice touch. The breakfast is sufficient and the breakfast staff clearly work hard to keep everything stocked and handle individual requests. However, the rooms are a bit small and claustrophobic (nothing has doors on it, there are no wardrobes or closed cabinets, so all your stuff is just in your face the whole time), and if you want anything above and beyond, don't think about it. While the staff is incredibly friendly, both times we have been there, the front desk staff have struggled to do certain tasks. The first time, the keycards weren't working and the front desk staff member was having trouble contacting supervisors/management and it was chaotic. The second time, we asked for extra pillows (the pillows in the room are problematically soft, like we both left with neck pain) and the front desk staff member didn't know where they were. She also mentioned that if the pillows were in housekeeping, she didn't have a way to access that room. She said she had been trying to reach her supervisor all day but they weren't responding, but the supervisor should be on site that evening and they'd get back to us then about the pillows. We never heard back. I don't want to place it on the individual staff members, because like I said, they were friendly and lovely and were genuinely trying their best, but keeping one person on staff in the entire hotel (and one who isn't a supervisor/manager/doesn't have access to things or know where things are) really isn't a good practice. But overall, if you're looking for a clean, no frills stay with free breakfast in a convenient location, I'd recommend this place. read more

A modern new hotel! Beds were comfortable, room was a bit small but it was nice and clean. They have 24 hr free coffee and pretty much that's it. Great spot just to stay if traveling on the road and need some where to stay. There seems to be not much in the area. Mainly fast food restaurants, Walmart and other new hotels. I think the area is developing with the newer construction. The front desk staff was very pleasant, had great customer service skills and welcoming! Would stay again if in the area for a quick stop over when traveling the highway! read more

I have delt with hotels on a near daily basis since 2014 as a touring musician manager. I can't remember when I have been met with such disdain. At check in the rudeness and unwelcoming manner was tolerable because I was exhausted. The desk clerk Lori from the night before was still there in the same clothes ( I asked and she had been home. ) It was 230 in the afternoon. Her rudeness continued and her argumentative demeanor was palpable. The shift manager was kind enough but listened without interceding to her continued almost berating attitude. The room was lovely. The beds soft. But don't go to the lobby in travel clothes or a road weary state because it was obvious she is a respecter of persons. I feel sad she's clearly so unhappy that she greets people in unkind manners. I tried to keep my East Tennessee raising in check and I managed to some degree but I'll never stay in this Avid again. The hotel was clean and modern looking. Breakfast was just ok. Jimmy Dean sandwiches, cereal, bagels, toast etc. My biggest complaint however is the hot water or more the lack of it. Went here for a weekend with my boyfriend and we loved it! The employees at this hotel were so helpful and welcoming. As soon as we got into our king bed hotel room it smelled so fresh and clean. The beds were very comfortable and it was super easy to stream youtube onto the TV from our phones! The pool was very nice too: you have to make an appointment to go to the pool, so you can have it all to yourself! They have free grab and go breakfast until 9:30, which was very nice. This hotel was a perfect spot for a night stay. It was right off of the highway, clean, had comfortable beds and offered a good breakfast for the price. The hotel has a modern, new feel to it and the service was exceptional. Shayla was at the front desk to greet us at 11pm and there again to help with breakfast at 8:30 am. Minimalist aesthetic. No carpet in the floor so it is cold on bare feet. Do Not Stay On The 5th Floor if you want hot water. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom is very big. Good variety for breakfast and kind staff. read more

Most things about the hotel are fine, but the air in our room absolutely sucked. Either ice cold or blowing heat. You cannot turn it off -- when you set it to "off," it blows constant heat. 1. Makes it hard to sleep and is very dehydrating 2. Bad waste of energy. All the reusable plastics won't make up for that. read more

Stay away as they are having ongoing problems with no hot water just read the past reviews across all websites like TripAdvisor, Expedia etc and you'll see. Stayed here 9/4/21 and still no hot water in my room. Front desk was very unhelpful and just shouted out "No discount so don't ask for one" even though I didn't. Told me she had another repairman in today that personally checked every room and they all had hot water, like I was lying to her. Never again will I stay with this brand. The shower did not work this morning. No water would come out. The knob would turn but no water so it just kept spitting around. I tried to tighten it but nothing worked. Unfortunately I was in a rush so I cleaned up using just the sink. When I reported this to the front desk as I was checking out the person behind the desk said oh and wrote down the room number. No apology and then asked me if I wanted my receipt. I looked at her and asked if she was really charging me for the stay she shrugged her shoulders. Luckily this was just a one night stay. It was an average room, although there was huge puddle of something on the floor as soon as I walked in. Also there was no ice bucket. Needed to go down to the front desk to get a disposable one. Also the water pressure was super low. The breakfast at least was half decent. read more
