First of all, I'm always weary of technicians that don't carry parts, and his estimate was way too high for me to be comfortable with, so I decided to use yelp to find another refrigeration service guy. I called Mr. Chong and although he was a bit busy, I told him the hours of my cafe and he was able to come in before our scheduled time. As said in the previous reviews, he was in uniform, but surprisingly friendly. He tried to tell some jokes, but it was lost in translation, haha. He took a look at my fridge, and told me that the coolant had run out, and that I needed to clean out some part. He had all the tools he needed in his van and finished the job right there. He ended up billing me $200. He even stayed afterwards for about 10 minutes to make sure that it was running fine. Besides being good at his job, Mr. Chong is an honest, good man. Isn't that all we ask for in the services industry? I now have a sticker with his number on my fridge, and I know it's just one less thing to think about the next time I run into a problem.

So I moved the fridge to give me space, while moving it I saw Hector come out. Went inside and told him if he could see my gas dryer at home and how much would it cost for the home visit. He said $20 and if I made the repairs with him it will be waived. He arrived about a half hour later or so and came in. He was polite and honest. He saw the dryer and knew what it needed. He said he normally charges $115 to fix it but he will charge me $95 and have it working for me in no time. He already had the parts in hand with him since I told him back at the store my dryer wasn't heating just blowing cold air. He changed the thermal fuse and another piece and he was done in about 35 minutes. Gave him $100 and left it at that. Dryer is working now. If you want to save even more money I'm sure you could look up stuff on YouTube and do it yourself. Eventually I found this place on yelp which is still sort of around the neighborhood. I called and they told me they can come out the next morning and the rates seems decent. The service staff arrived around 9am the next day just as the lady on the phone had promised. The service guy told my uncle that somehow the evaporator freezing up, he fixed it within an hour and also ran a test cycle to make sure there's no more problems. Uncle was very happy with their services and I think he's also happy with the rate. Hard to find reliable and trustworthy trade type businesses these days, but this is a good one…read more I was referred to Donavan by Toshiba customer service which made me feel good knowing he was a preferred provider. His schedule is busy, especially in the summer time, but he came and did the job. He mostly works on appliances such as stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators but a mobile AC unit like Toshiba is similar to a refrigerator cooling system so he was able to do this work as well. He took the unit apart and checked everything and showed me everything. One of my hoses was slit at the base causing water to leak so he cut it and reattached it. It needed to be drained which was easy as well. Thankfully no mold build up etc. I've had these since 2020 and used them intermittently so the mileage on them was low and maintenance was minimal despite NOT having maintained these annually. He showed me how to remove the water and was in and out in an hour after thoroughly checking the unit. Not cheap but similar to annual heating function testing etc. He was on time, efficient, effective, taught me something and operated with integrity. I normally would vet a few options and choose one but since he came recommended by Toshiba I went with him and glad I did. Highly recommend him for mobile AC unit maintenance. Can't speak on all else but I did ask how long he's been in the game and he said 14 yrs so to me that's good enough practice to be a pro. Thank you Donavan!
