    The inpection report Avis provided. The information is totally different from my reservation.

    *False Smoke Smell Charge* I have used the Avis rental service more than 10 times with a company discount. However, this recent experience has left me extremely frustrated. I am a non-smoker and reported an erroneous charge and emailed them about the mistake, but their support has not responded to my request. There's a pending $250.00 credit transaction that I have not been able to resolve. This is very disappointing, and I want to caution others when dealing with Avis rental. I received a Smoke Smell Bill on Jul 29 and immediately contacted customer service to request all inspection reports. However, the report indicated that the smell was from another customer, not from my rental. Despite this, customer support did not follow up on my findings and still charged me $250.00. I was also charged an additional service fee because the staff failed to check the drop-off box. I returned the car at 21:41, before the expected drop-off time. Due to their neglect, they did not check the box on time and charged me an additional service fee. I had to come to their office to explain and request a refund.

    They overbooked minivans. Offered a vehicle that is not covered by credit card insurance.

Later, I found out they had been applying my security deposit toward my payments without clearly explaining that to me. From my understanding, a deposit is supposed to cover potential damages or issues--not be used like that--so that immediately felt off. This morning, I called to extend my rental and was told there was an error on their end and that I should come in. When I arrived, things took a turn for the worse. They asked for my key tag and then took the key fob without properly explaining what was going on. I was told to remove all my belongings from the car and informed they couldn't accept any more payments because I had supposedly been issued a "demand to return" notice--something I had never been told about before, either over the phone or during any of my prior visits. To make matters worse, on my way home, I was still charged on my card, and they kept my security deposit. I wasn't even given the opportunity to refuel the car, clean it, or properly gather my belongings before they took the vehicle back. I had no intention of returning the car--I was trying to extend the rental--so the entire situation felt abrupt and mishandled. Afterward, I contacted customer service and was told that security deposits generally shouldn't be used the way mine was, which only added to my concern. Overall, this experience felt very unfair and disorganized. I would strongly recommend that this location improve communication and transparency with customers to avoid situations like this.
