Bad customer service!!! I rented a vehicle from Avis/budget at the olive location. I didn't realize until I Got home, There was fast food bags and trash everywhere. I had to clean and sanitize the inside of the rental myself. Another issue I had, I didn't think to check the Tires because you think they rent out safe cars... wrong!! My tires were so bald!!! By the grace of god I made it safe to my destination. I called to complain to Rafael Sosa, the guy who checked out the car. He basically was beyond rude and didnt even bother to listen about my complaint or attempt to give me the correct phone number to address my issue. He told me that it's not his problem and he didn't care. On top of the bad quality of rentals they have terrible service !!! You're better off going to the airport. Stay away from this place!!

Would have been nice if their covid-19 protocol included calling existing reservations to let them know they're close. I could have made alternate arrangements instead of spending money on an uber only to find a closed business. Customer service would have charged me extra fees to rent from the airport instead too. Not cool.

This is the best avis/budget ever!! I rented a car last minute and when I showed up all they had left was a big van/empty lot (it is easter weekend) This happens alot in most rental places where I reserve and show up but they're out of cars (enterprise made me wait 2 hours once & it wasn't a holiday) most of the time I'm waiting hours and end up with a crappy car... the guys asked me to wait a few minutes and 10 mins later they showed up with a convertible Mustang! Alex and Rafael you guys are the best!!! They even gave me a water bottle and a sweet discount for being so patient. First time renting with Avis and from now on I won't rent anywhere else. This is now my go to rental spot in LA! Thank you guys, I'll be back!

This place is awesome! The price for the car I got with full tank was perfect! I save over $100 compared to Hertz! The customer service was awesome too! Thank you guys for the amazing service:)

I wanted to believe that all the YELP reviews were wrong. Why did I think 100+ 1.5 star reviews…read morewere all wrong? Ugh. The check out wasn't bad. The lady wasn't friendly but customer service wasn't something she excelled in. She charged me $258 in "incidentals", when I inquired why so high, she said "You'll get it back when you return the car." Budget and Avis are the only 2 rentals places at Burbank that open at 5:30a. I came at 5am to get in line to return car. 6 cars in line. I'm 2nd. They took first car and fourth car. Did I mention I was 2nd? What the heck? I asked if there was a reason he took the car 2 cars behind me and he just looked at me. It was 5:25a. I asked him if he could inspect my car. He said inspections start at 5:30am. So I asked him what he did with the cars at 5:10am (cars 1 and 4) and he said "Check them in." I said "So basically, they're turned in?" and he said "Yes." So not sure what's the difference between "Turned in" and "Inspected" so I just left my keys on the dash and left and while I was walking to the airport it got notification that my car was turned in. While waiting for said guy to come back and turn in/inspect my car, the 3rd car guy and I were chatting and told me next time ask for a hybrid so I don't waste much gas (I was given a Jeep Compass). I give up.

I flew from Austin to Los Angeles to help my ailing 92-year-old mother who is nearly blind has…read moresevere arthritis and mobility issues. - At the airport, the Budget/Avis agent assured me that the Ford Mustang Mach-E I had confirmed was not available and it says "or similar" - He offered two smaller EVs, either a Kia or a Hyundai with no price adjustment. The listed rate of the Mach-E was $140. - In the lot, I notice near the smaller EVs that there were two Mach-Es - After a haggle the agent relented and allowed me to drive the Mach-E, I had confirmed and paid for ahead of time for 7 days. - Found out it was very difficult to charge an EV in the areas near my hotel or near where my mom lived. Spent hours searching online, finding broken chargers, very long waiting lines or private chargers. - Called Budget to switch to a gas vehicle and was told no problem and no extra charge, return the EV and pick up a similar ICE SUV. - When I returned the Mach-E, the agent, Evelyn decided to rent me a small SUV listed for $70 on their website at that time. - I asked for a similar car with a similar rate. Evelyn refused and became dismissive. She offered me a Mazda CX5, again listed on their website at $70 not the $140 rate of the one I returned. - With no choice or options, I drove the Mazda for the next 5 days. It did not have navigation and made my drives with my mom around LA a lot more difficult and time consuming. - Once back home, I called Budget so-called "customer service". I first talked to Andrea, she refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. After asking several questions she put me on hold for over 12 mins. She came back and claimed that the rates change often. When I told her that I showed Evelyn the rates using my laptop, she promptly hang-up on me in mid-sentence. - I called back and got agent Valencia. She said she could see that my earlier call was disconnected. She wanted to hear all of it from the start. Again, as I was explaining the rate difference, she also hang-up on me in mid-sentence. I should add that I am an AARP member and used the AARP link to reserve on Budget's website. It also says that I am eligible for a free upgrade. What I got was a down-grade and no charge adjustment.   As many before me have recommended, do not rentle. from Budget/Avis since they are shameless dishonest scammers. NB. Offered "Fastbreak" to skip the lines at pickup. They asked for all my info including DL and Credit Card. As soon as I entered the info, they charged me for the week's rental without asking. Also, non-refundable.

I want to share my experience because I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation was…read morehandled. The rental vehicle worked normally for the first two days, then suddenly became completely nonresponsive. The key fob stopped working, so I replaced the battery myself out of my own pocket, only to find out that wasn't the issue. The vehicle would not start and had no electrical response at all. I contacted Fox multiple times for assistance and had a very difficult time getting through, as several of my calls went unanswered. I was then told that roadside assistance would be an additional charge and that I would be responsible for paying for it myself, which I found outrageous considering I rented a vehicle that should have been in proper working condition. I ultimately had to use my own AAA service to troubleshoot and jumpstart the vehicle, and it became clear that the issue appeared to be related to the vehicle battery or an electrical problem--not anything caused by me. To make matters worse, when I finally spoke with someone named Chris, he was very rude, dismissive, and would not properly answer my questions. He also refused to acknowledge that the vehicle may have had a battery issue from the beginning. This situation cost me time, money, resources, and left me without a functioning vehicle for two full days. I rented a car expecting reliable transportation, not to spend my time diagnosing problems, paying out of pocket, and handling issues that should have been addressed by the rental company. Overall, this experience was frustrating and unacceptable.
