    With an upcoming trip down to San Francisco, I needed to set up a rental car from the SACRAMENTO airport. It turned out that Avis has a lot on-site, and that was the main reason I decided to peruse getting a car through them online. The site was easy enough to guess, going to www.avis.com produced exactly what I was looking for. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE SURE I COULD PICK IT UP, THEY GUY INFORMED ME THAT THEIR WAS ONE NEAR MY OFFICE & THEY TRANSFERED MY RESERVATION THEIR FOR FREE. On the site you are asked for a lot of information right from the start in order to figure out exactly what type of car you want. This includes the main reservation page, where you choose your rental Date & Time by choosing a pick-up date, a return date, and the pick-up and return times. You don't really have to be exact when you are playing around with the engine, but the more you know, the better the estimate will be on how much you will be paying for your car. One of the things that the site gives you, is the chance to look for deals in case something is on special for your given location. This is a crap shoot in my opinion, because you never know where the specials are going to be, but if you are just surfing around to find someplace to go, the specials could help decide a location for you. One of the other things that it seems Avis does a lot of are weekend specials, so if you are looking to take a weekend trip, this would be a great place to look through if you are trying to find a good deal. Once you have filled out all the information about where you are going, and when you will be going there, all of the car options are presented for that location. There is a vast range of cars from economy class for those looking to save some money, up to specialty cars such as town-cars or high-level SUV's if you are looking to splurge on the town. The rates are given on the page, and they do all of the calculations to tell you how much it is going to cost for the duration of your trip. This is neat, because it tells you the costs for each type of car so that you aren't going into this blind. That coupled with no surprises in the cost really helps to put the Avis Online Site in a good light. At the end of all the detail-setting, you enter your credit card information (the card isn't charged, just used as a holder) and you are "out-the-door" with your car set to be picked up. The whole process is pretty easy on the site, but I honestly say that the best part of everything is the e-mail that they send out with the confirmation on your vehicle. In that e-mail they give step by step directions on how to find the rental agency, which is pretty cool when you are heading to an airport you don't know much about. The e-mail also gives a confirmation number that you can use to insure that your reservations are set in stone. My use of the Avis online reservation system went splendidly, and I am very happy with how well the site worked. There were moments where the site took a little while to load, but that was all right with me, because it was the only (even-slight) drawback to using the web-site. WITH ALL THAT SAID, WHEN I GOT TO THE LOCAL AVIS, THEY GUY THERE WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE SITE. HE LOOKED OVER MY REVIEW & ASKED IF I'D LIKE AN EXTRA DAY AT HALF COST (WITCH I TOOK), HE EVEN LOOKED AN FOUND A 20% DISCOUNT THROUGH ANOTHER CARD I HAD. HE EVEN UPGRADED THE ECONOMY SIZE CAR RENTAL I HAD TO A FULL SIZE CAR FOR $6 EXTRA FOR THE WHOLE TRIP. I was extremely pleased with the site, and give it the full 5 out of 5 stars.

    Pretty good customer service best deals I have found for car rentals and it's a pretty convenient place. Cars are always clean inside.

I noticed not that many times to choose from going to Davis from Sacramento. We missed the 2 pm. We had to wait almost an hour and half until the next one. We bought our tickets then realized no one told us where we actually get onto the train. Our friend went back in..at the ticket booth the man that helped us was very nice and very helpful. He gave the kids coloring books and pins. Finally on the train it was bumper then I remembered, moved around a lot reminded me being on boat. Can not have bags or luggage out on tables or seats. I think we got called out, but we weren't sure since it was over the load speaker. We had a small bag it had food and snacks in it. We put into the over head. We went to check out the food car. So the kids could feel what it was like to walk from car to car..the food car was mostly over priced snacks. Canned, bottled drinks and packs of chips or nuts. When we arrived in Davis. They said over the loud speaker they do not stop for to long you need to get off so get ready. We couldn't open the over head to get our bag back out. It was stuck. Other passengers helped us open it, they said you really need to pull it hard. Once off the train the Davis train station and building looked so old and run down..so sad looking compared to Sacramento station. We didn't know no one would be there to buy return tickets. But they do offer more times leaving back to Sacramento. We purchased online. We had many people asking if they were in the right place while we were waiting. Davis such a cute town seems like they would clean up the station areas.

Not here!!!! I arrived at the train station, paid for my ticket already through the app. Unfortunately, my Lyft was late, and I got there with about seven minutes to spare. I went to the ticket counter to confirm that I can just get on the train because I had purchased a ticket through the app. The ticket clerk told me that I wasn't gonna make the train, because it takes about five minutes to get to the actual location where the train leaves. I quickly went outside to see if they had a Lime scooter and was told that I could not take the Lime scooter through the tunnel, which is how you get to the location. I asked her if there was anyway I could go all the way around like on the city streets and she said that the tunnel was the only way to get to the platform. She was letting everybody know who started to run over there. They're not gonna make it either. Both employees were not friendly at all. I went back into the station to see if I could get a refund or possibly get a ticket for a later time. Sat down and looked at my app, and it said my train actually departed late. The next one wasn't for two hours. If you ever go to this location, ignore what they say because at the end of the day there's no way for them to foresee if the train is gonna be sitting there for a few more minutes!!!! I saw a woman helping another customer so I asked her if she was a manager and she let me know she was a supervisor, her name was Christina.. I told her what the experience I just had was, and she could care less, her facial expression was so stern. They all lack customer service and being friendly! Funny thing, I should never even apologized after she reimburse me for my trip.

My last trip, however, changed my mind about the company completely. While driving on the freeway, I got tire pressure warning lights, followed by a loud flopping and then a scraping sound. I pulled over on the shoulder with cars flying by at 70 mph. It was dark and frightening. I stayed buckled in and called Zipcar for help -- but what followed was worse than the breakdown itself. The customer service team, clearly based overseas, seemed to have no grasp of the situation I was in. They repeatedly told me to get out of the car to inspect the tire and look for a spare, even after I explained I was on a dark freeway shoulder in the middle of the night. Their focus was on ending the trip and assuring me I wouldn't be charged -- not on my safety. Eventually, with no clear plan or updates from them, I accepted a ride from a stranger just to get off the freeway -- something I would never normally do. Thankfully, he was just looking for gas money and not worse. Hours later, I got texts saying a tow truck was coming, and later that the car had been towed. None of that was communicated to me while I was stranded. Maybe the car wasn't maintained properly, maybe it was just bad luck -- but what's certain is that Zipcar's customer service is completely unprepared for emergencies. I'll never use them again, and I'll warn friends and family to avoid them too.

    ZipCar was good at the beginning but it just started going downhill sometime in May 2023. Yes, I've…read morebeen late a few times but it was due to traffic which is not my fault. But this last time, it was heavy traffic and a really bad car caught on fire completely and traffic was backed up 30 minutes to an hour. I tried to call and let them know that but they didn't care whatsoever. So, they charged me $100 plus the hours that I used, too, and then, they suspended my account without letting me know when I was tried to go to my account and pay for the cost. I called and there were no English specialists or customer service agents that I could understand. I asked them questions but they didn't even answer my question clearly. If I am suspended, how long am I suspended for? 6-8 weeks? Forever? Like give me more information than, "this is a final decision and it can not be reversed". That's not an answer to my question at all. Then, you guys still want me to pay but I can't even continue to use ZipCar after that. That's a waste of my hard work money that I earned. Ever since I started using ZipCar, it's been problem after problem with their own property, I was stuck out in the heat for 3 hours because their ZipCar wouldn't even start. I had to call customer service and they had to transfer me to a technician just to work on their own stuff for them when they could have sent someone out. If I am suspended, they could have said, "6-8 weeks like they do with car accidents" which I think is crap. If a late person can impact another member so can a car accident can impact another member. If you guys can suspend someone who had a car accident for 6-8 weeks, you can suspend a person who is late for 6-8 weeks. At least give them some type of clear explanation instead of the crap, "final decision and can't be reversed" nonsense. That's not my question. HOW LONG WILL MY ACCOUNT BE SUSPENDED FOR?!? 6-8 WEEKS??? A MONTH??? A YEAR??? INDEFINITELY?!? LIKE SERIOUSLY?!? DO ANYBODY HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ENGLISH?? At least, give people a chance to pay for their balance instead of closing their account. That's how you lose CUSTOMERS!! Duh! I'm not going to keep calling ZipCar because they give me bullshit answers anyways! Gives me more motivation to fix my own broken down vehicle even quicker now. He is detail-oriented and is unwavering from being client-centered. Bob initially called me back and told me that what I was looking for (and at the time) would be very difficult to find. I was looking for a specific pick up truck in a pre-determined configuration. After three weeks of looking, he was able to locate one that was at an out of town dealership that I could easily get to. We made arrangements to see the truck and based on site and lack of other options, I bought the truck assured that it was the last truck in California with my specs. According to the dealer it had just arrived after being delayed in shipment and that future shipments were cancelled due to the world-wide microprocessor shortage. I had Bob review the specs. Bob already had me talk to my Credit Union for a pre-approved loan. The Dealership even talked to my credit union and brought down the APR from 3.02 to 2.9. I did end up paying for nitrogen in the tires and for the "installation" of the floor mats but marginal considering my diminished options. Anyway, Bob seemed to always be on the hunt for me and was very up to date about the goings on with the shipping and other details. He was easy to talk to and precise in what he had to say. No BS talk from him! No smoke going up the tail pipe either. Straight talk coming from a competent, professional who knows his business like no other. Thanks Bob! Next up... Miles of smiles!!!

Ray was who arrived to walk us through how to use the jumper, recommended where we should set up to create the least amount of hazard and mud (thanks again!!), and informed us when they would be coming to clean up. He reassured us to not stress about getting the inside dirty or anywhere else on this jumper. Just to have fun! Their jobs were to set up, pack up, then clean up. I immediate sung "Don't Worry About a Thing", lol! Booking the jumper was extremely easy. Their website is user friendly, communication was excellent along with their customer service. Highly recommend you check out their business when booking your next party!
