The sales representative that scammed me and now refuses to give back my down payment

If I could give this place 0 starts I would! I flew to Texas from Vegas to pick up a car i already put a down payment on and drive it back to Vegas. A week later - I get phone calls that I need to sign additional paperwork even though everything had been signed and I had proof. About a month later - I find out they never submitted a loan application to the lien holder and since have threatened me and bullied me to give the car back instead of securing a new lien holder as promised! I returned the car with the promise of getting my down payment back and since have been blocked. They also went behind my back and began calling the co-signer to avoid recorded calls! The sales team member Dio Zorrilla is the biggest scam artist of all! When you call the office phone - you get a completely different company! I will be suing them for all that has been lost and the stressful mental capacity they have put me under!! Never buy a car from this place or from Dio!

Initially, I was very happy with the service we received at Avis. They were very helpful when it came to working with my husband and I to get a loan approved. The general manager had a lot of personality. There are 2 reasons I'm leaving a 1 star review. My first problem is that we did not drive the vehicle on the highway during the test drive (our fault) but once we drove the car home it wobbles horribly over 55. It feels like the wheels are going to fall off. My 2nd problem is, not even a week after purchasing our vehicle the back window shattered before our eyes. My 2 year old son was in the back seat on the side of the shattered window and there was glass all over him and he was absolutely horrified. Thankfully he was not hurt. The window was not cracked or "broken" into like Charles Williams suggested. We didn't hit the window or anything. That is very concerning for anyone not just because we have children. Glass could've gotten in our sons eyes but apparently the window is not a safety feature. We ended up going back to Avis to fix the wobbling and broken window. Well, they would not cover the window that shattered all over my son (super frustrating) But said they would fix whatever was causing the car to wobble. They ended up giving us two new tires (supposedly) but when we drove home the car is still very much wobbly and now we're stressed trying to take the car to an actual dealership to find out what's wrong. Praying it's not the transmission or anything serious. I don't believe I should be taking a car that I purchased a week ago to a mechanic. Especially when this appeared to be a reputable car lot. This is one of the biggest purchases people make after a house. You want security knowing that a vehicle is going to last. Reliable transportation is everything especially in Houston. Having a great personality as a car salesman means nothing if customers can't trust you. Everyone was all in our faces and excited when we purchased the car but we waited an hour for Charles Williams to come out of his office just to speak with us. Lloyd the car salesman acted as if we didn't exist and he had no idea what was going on. Shiesty! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Also there is a burn in the back seat that Charles said we could come back and get fixed. We'LOL see if he keeps his word about that.

This weekend, I visited Shottenkirk Nissan in Katy, TX, with my cousin as directed by the Sales…read moreDirector, Edwin. Upon arrival, we met with the finance manager, Christopher Robinson, to review options for her recently purchased vehicle. My cousin originally purchased a 2025 Nissan Armada from this dealership in September of that year. She drove approximately 10,000 miles and had two oil changes performed at the dealership during that period. After the second oil change, she noticed a loud metal-on-metal grinding noise. When she returned to the dealership, the mechanic was authorized to remove the oil pan and discovered metal shavings at the bottom. Ultimately, this indicated an internal engine failure. Since my cousin lives in Corpus Christi, TX, she took the vehicle to a dealership there for repairs, which took nearly a month. They replaced the engine. Upon returning to her local dealership, she noticed a ticking noise and reported it to the service department. They inspected the vehicle, told her it was normal, and advised her to continue driving. She then contacted Edwin to express her safety concerns while driving this vehicle. He advised her to return to the dealership so they could replace the vehicle without issues. Today, she drove three hours to Katy and spent nearly five hours at the dealership. She spoke with Christopher Robinson to explore options for exchanging the vehicle. Unfortunately, their only offer was to trade it in and purchase a more expensive vehicle, which would put her an additional $10,000 upside down financially. Christopher prepared paperwork for a 2026 model, offering a 96-month loan at an 8.04% interest rate, resulting in a monthly payment of $1,319. She agreed to these terms to obtain a reliable vehicle. However, upon reviewing her credit, Christopher stated that the banks would not approve the loan because her credit score was 695, whereas a minimum of 700 was required. At the time of her original purchase in September, her credit score was 780. The new financing options presented were a monthly payment of $1,598 at 10.83% interest for 84 months or $1,890 at 4.05% interest for 84 months -- both of which were unaffordable. We expressed our dissatisfaction with what appeared to be misleading information and the inconsistent efforts to help her. Christopher called Edwin to see if he could assist further; however, Edwin returned with excuses, claiming he had done everything possible. He also suggested a buy-back through Nissan but dismissed it, implying that if the engine was repaired, an engineer might refuse the buy-back, complicating the process. My cousin then asked Christopher to speak with Kevin, the General Manager, to discuss her situation directly. Kevin, who was nearby, refused to meet and advised making an appointment for Monday, stating that weekends are for sales and not dealing with customer issues. This response was disappointing and left her feeling dismissed and frustrated, especially after spending over $75,000 on a vehicle that experienced engine failure at just 10,000 miles and was still exhibiting issues. Further concerns were raised after reviewing online reviews of the dealership, which referenced potential fraudulent practices. During her initial purchase, they offered $28,000 for her trade-in but only provided $27,000, citing an error. Additionally, they refused to allow her to finance through her bank, insisting she use their financing instead. She discovered they listed her annual income as $150,000, despite her stating her actual income was $65,000 -- and they never verified this. Her final financed amount was $1,291 per month at a 9% interest rate. She believed they were acting in her best interest, but subsequent inquiries with other financial institutions indicated her credit score of 780 should have qualified her for interest rates closer to 4%. Overall, she is very disappointed with how she was treated. She did not request the engine to fail; she simply wanted a safe and reliable vehicle for her family. Instead, she received dishonest information, misrepresentation, and a lack of proper support. She is planning to seek a resolution to her situation, as she no longer feels safe or confident in her current vehicle. Additionally, she intends to share her negative experience with others and discourages others from doing business with Shottenkirk Nissan, citing concerns about unethical practices and poor customer service. Rebuttle: This lame ass generic statement below by the owner of the dealership is the same for every bad review. How about you make a call to the customer and see what you can do to resolve the issue not hide behind your desk Mr Shottenkirk! "On behalf of our dealership, we would like to apologize that you were not totally satisfied with your last visit with us. We strive to ensure an excellent experience and since we did not provide this in your case, we want to make things right. We would appreciate..."

At no point was it ever blowing hot air as though the heater was on. After your technicians diagnosed the issue, I decided not to proceed with the repair. When I got into my vehicle the very next day, however, the air conditioner was blowing hot air as if the heater had been turned on--a problem that did not exist before my vehicle was serviced. I returned to Katy Honda to express my concern. Instead of listening to what I was trying to explain, your staff repeatedly focused on the diagnosis they had already given me. My concern was not about the diagnosis--it was that my vehicle was performing differently after your technicians worked on it. Before the service, my AC never blew hot air. After the service, it did. I wasn't asking for a free repair. After paying nearly $300 for an AC diagnostic, I simply expected someone to take my concern seriously and offer to inspect the vehicle to make sure something hadn't been inadvertently left disconnected or improperly reassembled, such as a cap, hose, or connector. That basic level of customer service was never offered. The complete lack of concern for my experience and the unwillingness to even consider that something may have changed during the inspection was extremely disappointing. Customer service is about listening to your customers, not dismissing their concerns. Because of this experience, Katy Honda has lost my confidence. I will not be returning for future service, nor will I consider purchasing another vehicle from your dealership. I expected much better treatment after being a paying customer, and unfortunately, my concerns were not taken seriously.

We truly had a wonderful initial buying experience thanks to our salesperson, Justin, and our finance manager, Jaime. In fact, before our test drive, we explicitly noticed the power running boards weren't moving and asked Justin about them. He told us he believed the service department had simply disconnected them and offered to take the truck back to have them reconnected. We also noticed the truck bed was full of trash, including old water bottles, a half-empty Powerade, and dirty food containers. Justin, my husband, and I all saw this, and we were promised the truck would be fully detailed prior to driving off. We trusted his word alone and completed the purchase. Unfortunately, the post-sale management has completely ruined that experience. After purchase and returning home that same evening, we discovered the power running boards were completely inoperable, not just disconnected, so we emailed Jaime directly, since he was the only contact we had available, the following morning. Instead of honoring their pre-sale acknowledgment, the sales staff explicitly instructed us to "wait a week until our AutoNation warranty kicks in" before bringing it back. We now know this was a deliberate stalling tactic designed to push us past AutoNation's strict 5-Day/250-Mile Money-Back Guarantee window. Furthermore, instructing a consumer to wait to file a pre-existing delivery defect under an extended warranty is highly improper. When my husband, Rafael Hernandez, returned to the dealership today to resolve this, a manager named Byron Nelson refused to take responsibility. He hid behind the excuse that "running boards aren't part of the inspection checklist"--completely ignoring that his own sales team acknowledged the issue before the sale. He stubbornly tried to force us to file an AutoNation warranty claim and pay a deductible out of our own pocket for a vehicle delivered broken on day one. To make matters worse, he was incredibly uncooperative--reluctantly giving only his name while refusing to provide a business card or any written information when asked. Eventually, he gave his business card. To the AutoNation social media team: don't even bother responding with your usual copy-paste template saying you "set a high standard" and asking us to call the General Manager at (281) 305-8949 to improve our experience. We DID try to physically speak to the GM this morning. My husband watched all the managers sitting right there in a meeting, yet he was flatly told "no, they were unavailable". We have a complete paper trail, including our original June 30th email and an official AutoNation corporate chat transcript. We expect the General Manager to bypass Byron, look at the corporate file, and contact us directly with a confirmed appointment to fix these steps at $0 out of pocket.
