Slow. Stupid. Untrained. On cellphones. No inventory to speak of. Mismanaged and clearly poor management and poor training.

I called in ahead of time to check if cars were available. The man at the front desk (bigger man, mustache and balding) quoted me 500 dollars for a week over the phone. I took an Uber over to the location & when I arrived he raised the rental price to 792 for the week. I checked online and the price was 362. I asked the man why he wouldn't honor the price listed online and he said we don't work with Expedia. I called budget and asked if they would honor the price they said yes then the man at the same desk so no I already booked the car. All in all the man was clearly being shady. Called over to the enterprise and they not only honored the price but they guy at the front desk was very nice & respectful. read more

This was the day we were driving to Key Largo. My rental car had a flat tire and it was the weekend, so the car repair places were closed. Payless told me I would have to drive to Miami to get a new car (on a spare!). They are under the same parent company as Avis, but the Avis in Key Largo is independently owned, so they said it was up to him if he wanted to give me a different car. They took absolutely no responsibility for it. The owner of the Avis in Key Largo gave us another, very nice car under the same rental agreement. Couldn't have been easier and I was SO grateful. For that they get 4 stars, well deserved. read more

I have never seen a company with such a lack of customer service. The day I pick up the card, the attendant said the car was a little wet because it was just cleaned. As I enter the car, something was sprayed on the car but the car did not look disinfected at all. I did not complain because the only person there was the unwelcoming attendant, not a manager to voice any frustrations. As I came back to return the car, the same attendant found an unused toothpick on the floor and an unused disposable white cup on the console. That was enough for him to chase me on the parking lot to tell me that next time he would charge me for a cleaning fee. To make matters worse as I got the invoice at home he charged me for taxes when I have a tax free account. Took me 2 hours on the phone with customer service to get it resolved. read more

I am a local and I deal with this rental car facility once a month and every time the man is extremely rude and not helpful. Regardless, it was cheap and quick. I called to confirm a reservation and he told me that he might not have an economy car and I should rebook for a larger car (more money). He said "couldn't just give me a larger car tomorrow " and that I might miss my flight. Who tells someone that? Any other rental car company will automatically upgrade you if they don't have the car you reserved. Not this guy! I honestly don't know how he still has a job. read more

Beware. I had a reservation for a Camry or similar car. After I signed the the paperwork I was given a small Mitsubishi with only 1/3 tank of gas and door locks that had been disabled (later discovered). I put $20 of gas on the car but after finding the problem with the doors returned the car. The rental agent indicated he would cancel the contract and credit me the $20 for the gas. When I checked my account I found that I had been charged for the rental plus $36.71 to fill the tank. I am working with Avis customer service to resolve. This guy is a crook and not to be trusted. read more

First, the guy working here is very nice, he's just limited by what the corporation does to him. We had a rental here today, or shall I say we were SUPPOSED to have a rental here today. This is the THIRD time they haven't had a car for us, despite having booked it last week. The other times I've gone up to Enterprise at MM101 and picked up a car, but this was too late in the day for us to run up there before they close, so we're stuck without a car. Thanks Avis! We use Avis because we have a corporate account with them, and they're fine everywhere else in the world, but this location is the worst. read more

I made a reservation online for a compact car. When I went in to pick it up, I was told they had no compact cars and I had been upgraded to a pick up truck at no additional cost. I told them I did not want a truck, but since I had no choice, I agreed. I did not take the truck off the lot because I was flying out the next day. When I went to pick up the truck the next day, I drove it around the building and it had a "check tire pressure" light on. I also realized that the truck would be getting much worse gas mileage than the compact car I originally ordered so I decided against it. The customer service agent, Nash, was very rude and told me that he had no cars and that because I signed the paperwork the day before I would be charged for the rental. He also told me that if I would have called the location instead of making the reservation online, he would have told me they have no compact cars. Fortunately, I called customer service and was told that because the vehicle never left the lot and did not incur any mileage, I would not be charged. However, a charge is now pending on my credit card and I am waiting for a call from the supervisor. If they have no compact cars at this location, they should not allow a reservation for one. Nor should they "upgrade" you to a vehicle that gets worse gas mileage, has a warning light on, and is not even a car! Will not be using Avis again. read more

THE WORST customer service we have EVER experienced. Nash missled us on a jeep rental and tried passing along a subpar SUV which is not what we were going for during Spring Break vacation. He lied, did not try to help in anyway possible to give us back the money we PREPAID. This location does not deserve to be in business. Save your vacation and use Enterprise where they actually have great customer service. read more

Great experience! Don't let the bad reviews dissuade you. Store was open at 8 - process of completing rental/verifying insurance was quick. Rented convertible to drive from Key Largo to Key West - it was perfect for the occasion. Nash was great - made the process easy and was transparent with price differentials and even gave us great suggestions for our trip! We booked the car the night before at 10:00 pm and the car was ready to go by 8:00am the next morning. Would recommend to a friend. read more
