I know I booked last minute because my car was stuck in the shop but how in the world does this company allow you to make a reservation if they didn't have a car available!? At our rental pickup we worked with Sheltair. He was not only extremely rude but also forcefully aggressive towards my family member after checking out and while we were inspecting the car. My phone had died so I asked my family member to take photos of the car for our records and Sheltair lunged toward my family member demanding his phone. When we said no, and asked that he back away he started to yell about his personal privacy and continued to yell in my family members face grabbing his phone. This was extremely scary and unprofessional. It is a common practice to take photos of the car before taking it off of the property. Sheltair then told us to get off the property and ran back inside. We had to go back inside the office to request the keys because he never gave them to us. He also didn't complete the inspection. When inside getting the keys I told him I felt very unsafe and scared to leave the way we did. He only wanted to tell me how we were wrong for taking photos and continued to escalate the situation. I left very shooken up and feared that we would be retaliated against once we returned the car. Once getting inside the car we found it to be disgusting and not clean at all. We found a full Diet Coke bottle filled with used sunflower seeds and multiple documents of previous renters with their drivers license information, name, address and phone numbers on them. At drop off we had a better experience working with a different employee. However, we still did see Sheltair there and I felt very scared in his presence. I will not be renting from Avis at the Broomfield location again because of Sheltair. read more

BE AWARE .... corrupt business practices. We rented a vehicle from Payless (owned by AVIS) and when reserving the vehicle we were quoted a base rate of $224 and taxes/fees of $106 for a total of $330. When we picked up the vehicle, the price had changed to a base rate of $224 and taxes/fees of $256 for a total of $480, over a 30% increase. They know you'll pay the increase because you've already spent close to an hour taking a shuttle to their rental location. You also likely won't find a "day-of" rental at a decent price. This is just blatant corruption and very poor business practices. Shame on Payless and AVIS for letting this happen, stay away from them both. read more

I rented a new, clean Nissan SUV from Avis/Budget in Broomfield. Not at all pleased with Tim, he fools around so much, meanwhile he tries to get away with inflating the total balance. I rented the car for 7 days. I ended up only needing it for 4 days. This is when I met Coleman. He is wonderful. He is relatively new but very personable, professional, kind, and he actually listened to me and did not argue with me because I made valid points. Tim would not listen so I called customer service after I left the store. I spoke to Chevelle, who was very polite and listened while I explained my situation. She took notes, did some calculations and told me the company will give me a refund for actually more than I was expecting. She asked me to call back in two days so they could update and process the refund. I called today and spoke to Trevon in St Lucia and he was personable and professional. I explained what had transpired and he told me everything processed and gave me the total for the 4 days, which ended up being less than what Chevelle told me. I saved $136.00. IOriginally I was going to rent a smaller vehicle but they gave me an SUV at a lower rate. Very pleased with this location! Ask for Coleman! read more

I have rented cars from Avis for decades. Rented thru Costco recently and was surprised this place was in Broomfield. I had no problem with car. Sales person had an attitude problem. Corporate needs to send in replacements ASAP. Tim was a total nightmare. They tried to charge for time I didn't even have the car. Couldn't get ahold of anyone by phone. No customer service. We had an outstanding experience here with Tim in Broomfield. He was efficient and very professional and courteous. We had originally ordered a minivan, but when we saw a bunch of Suburbans on site, we upgraded to that and Tim was able to do that for us. We loved the car and the pick up and return was seamless and very good. It was also wonderful to be able to rent in my neighborhood without having to drive to the airport. Great job Tim! Note to self: don't rent a car in Broomfield... I've rented many, many cars, quite a few this year in fact and every time the car I reserved wasn't available I was given an upgrade. Not from Avis in Broomfield. We ordered a full size sedan and were given a mid sized crossover. Because "this is all we have"... My mother has a hard time moving around and walking and is five feet tall so that car was very difficult for her to get in and out of and in her words was the worst riding car she's ever been in. She was very unhappy with the car but no one cared. When she voiced her frustration to the counter guy he basically ignored her, didn't say sorry (that her experience wasn't all she had hoped for, not to take blame, ffs, horrible customer service) and then said since there was dog hair in the car he would have to send it to the airport to be cleaned and thay we may be charged for said cleaning! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! YOU GYP US OUT OF THE TYPE OF CAR WE ORDERED, GIVE US A LOWER CLASS AND NOW SAY YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME TO GET A FEW DOG HAIRS VACUUMED???? I PROBABLY LEFT MORE HAIR IN THAT CAR THAN THE DOG!!! I have left cars with sand in them in Hawaii and have NEVER been charged for cleaning even though they definitely had to vacuum that car out!! What BS! I will NEVER use Avis again, they don't care, and I sure won't be renting a car out of Broomfield again. It just never works out... read more

Person who answered said he couldn't take care of my needs because he was "really busy" and had to leave to take a car back to the airport. He took my phone number down and said he'd call back in an hour. It's been 10 hours, no call back. Avis at the Denver airport were also fairly incompetent and Avis corporate was surreally inefficent and incompetent. Will not use Avis again. read more

I booked a car here for a road trip, and the attention was very poor. The guy at the front desk was not helpful. I mistakenly got there an hour earlier, and they charged me for two whole days instead of one. When i asked why, they said "you came an hour earlier, so you are renting it 1.30pm to 2.30pm next day, instead of 2.30 to 2.30 next day" instead of letting me know and asked me if i was returning it earlier instead. So i told him to change it to an hour earlier. I was dropping it off at a different location so it was a 400$ charge instead of 200$. Not a 30$ extra. The car was EXTREMELY dirty, and this guy told me, and quote "with this weather is hard, so whoever cleans it didn't want to work for it. Yeah, i clean it" The tank was EMPTY, literally 5 miles to empty. If I wouldn't have been so tight with time i would have left and get it at a different place. NEVER had an experience like this. read more

BEWARE!!! SCAM ARTISTS! Wish I could give negative stars. Do not for any reason rent from this place. Truck broke down on a sat afternoon and I wanted to have a car in case of emergencies. Parts for my truck was supposed to be in mon-tues. Since it was afternoon on a Saturday, Enterprise was closed so I looked on Priceline and it unfortunately sent me here. Arrived around 4:30 to find no one at the store. Waited, and waited. Finally started searching, nobody anywhere. I mean deserted, not in the bathroom, nor in the back. Yelling w no answer. Finally about 20 min later a guy comes walking in from the alley behind the store. I explain my situation and let him know that I may need to extend my reservation if the parts don't arrive. "No problem" Anthony says, "just call us direct and we'll take care of you." I drive the car home, never even use it. Flash forward to Monday. I found out that the parts were gonna be a few more days. Call up as instructed, and they want double for the same POS Kia that I hadn't even used. Fine, I'll return it, and call up enterprise, (who picked me up from there and gave me a Cadillac for half the price.). Arrive at 2:00, and wonder of wonders, at least someone is there. Tim Sawaged, agency operator, asked if I filled it up, yes 2 whole gallons since I didn't use it. Then he gives me a deprecating look and goes to check the car. Comes back and says he's going to charge me a cleaning fee because I smell like marijuana. I kindly explained I own buildings that people grow marijuana in, and that I don't smoke, and did not smoke anything in that car. He said he didn't care and that he was gonna send it out to detail and would charge me accordingly. I tried to explain if I were a fisherman, I might smell of fish, but sometimes you can't fix stupid. In addition, I just saw that he charged me for bringing it back at 2:00, even though I picked it up at 4:30, and didn't get helped until 5:00. read more
