I am speechless with my experience today at Its Greek 2 U. The owner and her sister made us feel at home. It's as if we knew them for years. We tried many different dishes including the famous pork gyro, chicken and pork souvlaki, kolokithokeftedes, xoriatiki, saganaki and others! Everything was delicious! The decor was great. The old pictures of her family on the wall made us feel like we were in an old black and white Greek film. It was a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!

Had a great dinner here on a Friday night. I took a date here and were very impressed with our plates. We ordered two appetizers and then I got a pork belly gyro (yeero as it's spelled here on the menu) and my date got a chicken pita sandwich. I don't think I've ever had such a tender gyro before. The meat was incredible. I was in heaven with each bite. They also gave a lot of the tzatziki sauce with the appetizer so we had plenty to continue using with the gyro. It's currently a BYOB establishment ($5 per bottle) so we brought a bottle of Pinot Grigio and they provided us wine glasses. I will note that I realized later we weren't charged for it on the check. Considering we had two appetizers, and two entrees plus bottle of wine... I found the $55 check before tip to be incredible in this day & age.

Great family owned local greek spot. Vicky is the sweetest!! I've been going here for years and finally decided to dine in. Very quiet spot with very chill vibes. Food made fresh. I got the chicken souvlaki with fries, very seasoned and never dry chicken skewers. Every bite is perfect! 10/10, will go again!

I decided on a Saturday because they open on the weekends at noon and 4 PM during the week and they had Pastitsio as a weekend special. You order at the counter and the lady said take a seat anywhere. The owner was working in the kitchen, answering the phone taking orders, etc. There was no waitstaff which surprised me considering it was the weekend. We were waiting longer than usual and about to leave in a few minutes when she finally took our order. I ordered Chicken Gyros and my friend ordered Chicken Souvlaki she said that hers was a little skimpy compared to my amount of meat, and she went on to say that she could have used more tzatziki sauce (mine too). The owner was the only person to take our order. On our way out I saw a waiter finally waiting on a large table. The Sagankai was good and a nice piece to boot but there was no Opa! She just put the plate on the table. The Spanakopita was a good size but a little overcooked. Check out their website menu before you go there because I was going to order the Pastitsio (Greek Lasagna) that was on their Yelp website menu but the lady/owner said that they didn't have it that day, their "Special Menu" had Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops were both marked as "market price". Also, they didn't have Avgolemono (lemon, egg, and chicken soup}, a staple on most Greek restaurant menus, which surprised me, the lady said "It's too hot for soup".

Super simple menu, and reasonably priced. This is a great spot to pop in for dinner or lunch (its BYOB too which is great). Everything was super fresh Staff was incredibly friendly and had a very family owned vibe feel.

    Pork Belly Yeero - stuffed

As a person who has eaten 250+ gyros in my lifetime, this place rewired my brain chemistry. I was confused looking at their menu wondering why they only had chicken or pork belly gyros. I thought maybe this place was just trying to be trendy and different, but Greek-inspired interior didn't really match that vibe. We tried the tzatziki, saganaki and chicken kabob which were all very good. However, we also tried the pork belly gyro stuffed with fries and it was one of the best things I've eaten in Chicago. I cannot stop thinking about how good it was. My mind was blown. I ordered another one to make sure it wasn't some anomaly (they also are similarly sized to a half of a sandwich). I don't ever want to eat a lamb gyro ever again. This place is a must try.

I get the pork belly yeero with fries inside every single time I come in. The flavor is well balance and I love the friendly staff. I haven't tried anything else but I can 100% stand by the yeero. This is a cute little place with a great patio in the back. Great for a quick bite to eat or maybe even a cute get together!

    Pork Souviaki and rice pilaf

Not sure how long this place has been around, but I am mad that I just discovered some great Greek food within delivery range without having to drive to Greek Town to pick it up. I was looking for something to eat and oddly enough the places I would normally order from were closed early for delivery, but this place popped up and figured I would give them a try as I was not in the mood to get dressed to go out and pick up food. We ordered the Chicken Yeero (layers of chicken seasoned with herbs served inside pita with tomato, onions and tzatziki), Pork Souvlaki (char-broiled tender chunks of pork served inside pita bread with fresh tomatoes, parsley, smoked paprika, red onions and tzatziki), Kabob (ground beef and lamb served inside pita bread with fresh tomatoes, parsley, smoked paprika, red onions and tzatziki) and rice pilaf. Man what can I say except that these yeeros are not what I am use to. This is not the usual sliced meat but hearty chucks of flavorable meat that was tender and juicy. The flavors were so fresh and the tzatziki didn't overpower the sandwich. It was nice to see that there was more meat than bread for a change in a sandwich. The kabob was so good! I love lamb and I could definitely tell that there was lamb in the kabob as oppose to more beef. The Doctor and I each got an order of the rice pilaf, which was pretty good. The Doctor, who is Armenian, said it tasted a lot like the rice his mom use to make, and she knew how to cook. I got an extra Pork Souvlaki because I love all things pork and wanted to try it the next day. Folks it did not disappoint and made a great breakfast. The sandwich held pretty well, the pita was not soggy. Now that I have discovered this place I will be ordering from them again as I would love to try the lamb chops.

    BYOB

Is there anything on or off the menu that can be made vegan?

No. Chef is strict and rude with any inquiries or changes.

Is the gyros meat made home made in-house? Or is it the factory type meat?

It is NOT the 'pressed' meat you find in many restaurants. The meat is layers of 'real' seasoned and marinated chicken and porkbelly that is cooked on the revolving spit then sliced and it is delicious! The yeeros here are just delcious!

The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. Aba Restaurant review -- Fulton Market, Chicago…read more This was my husband and I first time visiting Aba Restaurant, and we left impressed on every count. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. No dish was too heavy with oils or grease or fats which left us feeling full and satisfied without the groggy food coma. Flavors sing Mediterranean, and truly can't pick a wrong item. If I had to make a recommendation, the mushroom hummus for vegetarians is devine!! For the beef lovers out there, I've been recommended the short rib hummus countless times and I'm certain it would hit the spot. Unfortunately not the best Mediterranean food I've had in town, but definitely a can't miss place when making your restaurant hit list. The ambiance is also elegant and fit for an upscale Mediterranean meal. The indoor section is beautiful but I hear outdoor section is just as great of an experience. Again, can't go wrong on where you choose to make your reservation. The service is where the restaurant falls a bit short. They get incredibly busy and as a result it took over an hour to receive our meal. Was it worth the wait? Definitely, but wish the service could have been a bit more attentive also. Rating: 4/5

About as early as you can get for dinner and yet they were already sold out of the special so that was really disappointing that they would be so unprepared for one of the most popular dinner date holidays of the year... Alternatively, we went with a bunch of appetizers and split two entrées. Somewhere delicious somewhere very mid and somewhere a let down. Here's the breakdown: - Fried zucchini chips 5/5 - one of my favs in the city - Octopus 2/5 - one of my least favs in the city... it lacked flavor, was a small portion for the price and had a gooey string that grossed us both out - Fish spread that started with an M... haha 5/5 - I can't remember the name, but this was delicious! It was definitely pricey for the portion though especially because it didn't include pita... We had to pay an additional seven dollars for two pieces of pita, which was ridiculous - Oysters - 4/5 - husband enjoyed - Katifi cheese pie 4/5 - very tasty! Sweet and pricey but worth it - On special - fried fish- 2/5 - the waitress described these as small bite-size fish, but that is not how they came out and instead, it was really difficult to debone them and you hardly got any meat out of it. The flavor wasn't bad, but the experience was disappointing. I will say that they comped these after our feedback. - Gyros - 2.5/5 - it's not that these were bad per se... But I've had way better in the city to include fast, casual restaurants, and the price for the portion was pretty ridiculous again. Hardly any accoutrements. - Rockfish with pistachio brown butter - 5/5 - I believe this fish was on special and she described it as being a sweeter fish. They did come to the table and cut it for you so it was a lot easier to eat. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a sweet flavor. I also liked that you could choose your own dressing because the brown butter pistachio was delicious. - baklava froyo 3/5 - i'll bump this up to three because my husband liked it more than I did, but I was very disappointed by this dessert. The Greek yogurt was sour as to be expected, but instead of having actual baklava or pistachio flavor to balance it out, it basically just tasted like they dumped simple syrup on it and it was like a sour ice cream with just pure sugar drizzle... It really didn't come together for me. Overall, the service was really good and our waiter was very sweet. Also, our wine was delicious and the zucchini chips and fish spread were good, so maybe we would come for appetizers and drinks, but I definitely wouldn't return for a Greek dinner with the other options we have in the city.

The potatoes were amazing - cheese was delicious and melty. Chicken was grilled to perfection.

I visited Greek Prime this weekend with my husband and a few friends. The entire staff was so…read morefriendly from the second we walked in the door. We sat out back, on the cute brick patio. Each table had umbrellas so you're able to adjust to get the perfect amount of sun or shade. Our bartender, Jenny was amazingly attentive and made delicious drinks! The owner even stopped over to our table and enjoyed a round of shots with us! Let's not forget about the food....everything was delicious! We started with the flaming saganaki, then moved on to a Ceasar salad and a steak pita. The portions are definitely shareable sizes or just pack it up and eat the rest later....it's worth it! Overall, it was truly a great experience. We will definitely be back to enjoy the patio vibes many more times this summer!

So, this is not the cute Greek restaurant you visit in Greektown. This is "the walk through the ice…read morecream shop and display cases, to the dark panel traditional Chicago-style bar, back to the rear and up some stairs to chairs and tables in a dining room with TVs on the wall" type of spot. And I was here for it! Great service from our server. Good quality and variety of food. (Hello, octopus?!). The "Greek" dressing on my Greek salad was...interesting. I'll definitely make sure to just ask for oil and vinegar next time. Drinks were a generous pour and didn't take long to be made. Overall, it's what I'd consider a "true Chicago kickback spot"z: No frills, but worthy.
