The place could use some TLC as it felt kind of dark and a little messy or like dirty (not sure how to describe this like sticky tables and tissue and little crumbs on the floors). We really enjoyed this sushi spot in Cedar Hill. It's on the outside of the mall, so parking isnt a problem, though a tree has obscured the main sign and logo. The service was subpar, but we really enjoyed the dishes themselves. We did the crunchy crab roll and the New Orleans roll which were both great, flavorful, and pretty filling. Great find for sushi in Cedar Hill! We pretty much had the place to ourselves and the food was quick, cost-friendly, and delicious! Two rolls per person is plenty and the presentation of the sushi is beautiful. Some of the "boats" take up a lot of table room so keep that in mind as your order. I was not aware of this until David (the supervisor) scolded the waitress in front of me and other customers for not charging for the add-on. I was taken aback by his reaction. I inquired of the waitress whether I would have been informed of the issue had I not brought it to her attention, to which she replied she thought David would take care of the issue. David "took care of the issue" by telling the waitress in a raised voice that my order would not receive the add-on. I informed the waitress I would gladly pay for the add-on, to which she obliged. She apologized for the mishap. While waiting for my order, David spoke to other customers; some were dining in and others were waiting for "to go" orders. Not once did he acknowledge me or speak. When my order was completed, the cook informed the waitress "no extra veggies." David (who was nearby) talked to the cook and took the order to the back. When my order came back out, it looked like a few veggies had been tossed on top. David's disrespect toward the waitress, his lack of tact in how he handled the issue, engaging with other diners but not acknowledging my presence, and the careless manner in preparing my order speaks to his lack of professionalism. This was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Not only will I not return, but I WOULD NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. I suggest taking your patronage to an establishment that will treat you and wait staff with respect AND appreciate your business. Since my last visit the sushi quality seems to have improved. We dropped in during lunch and the restaurant was clean and nearly empty. We seated ourselves and there was one waitress on the floor. It took her some time to get to our table. We ordered two rolls for lunch which has a bent box special that comes with edamame, salad and dumplings. I think you have to ask for the special or they won't automatically give it to you. We ordered the Cowboy tower. It was the largest tower I've ever seen. My husband says it should be called the "castle." We were so full from the bento that we took the tower to go after it was deconstructed. All in all we had a good experience. We spent about $46.
