This is definitely my go to Sushi spot the is close tu my home. The sushi tastes fresh, service is fairly quick, great variety and the pricing is reasonable. This place is small but do not let that stop you from going. The sushi is fresh & delicious. We ordered the Avocado Bomb & it did not disappoint. I could have ordered another serving. We also ordered the Alaskan Roll & the Hawaiian Roll, both were very good. You place your order at your table on a self-serve kiosk/pad so if you want more, you just select, submit & the food is brought to your table. The wait staff is friendly & helpful w/questions. I'm 17 years old and I got into a car accident today when someone head on crashed into me leaving my car totaled . I was on the way to pick up my food when the accident occurred. My car wasn't drivable and had to get towed. Later I got a called from this establishment asking if I was going to pick up my food and I explained why I can no longer pick up the food. Then they said "unfortunately we are going to have to block this number" and hung up I'm sorry my near death experience was an inconvenience to your sushi business I hope you guys and recover from such a loss :( read more

I got the salmon torched roll along with the takoyaki and both had good flavors. Our server did a phenomenal job and was attentive to us from explaining how to order things off the tablet to taking empty dishes out of our way promptly. Our food also came out fairly quickly after placing our orders. The establishment is fairly small so we did have to wait a bit of time before being seated; however, it does have a cozy and nice interior. read more

Sushi Gio is a tiny, cozy sushi spot in with just a few tables, so it feels pretty homey. You order from a screen at your table, which is easy but also a little confusing. They'd let us know that whatever is not on the screen from the menu is not available for order. The scallop and salmon belly were the stars. They sear the salmon belly lightly so it's not chewy, and it just melts in your mouth. Prices were really fair for the quality, so I left feeling happy and full without breaking the bank. read more

This place was excellent. Normally we go to Suzushii my daughter wants ramen and I want sushi. We decided to try somewhere new this time and it was really good. She loved the ramen and the sushi she tried. I loved the two rolls we ordered. And the Takoyaki was really delicious. Service was great and he checked in with us to make sure we were okay. The inside is really cute. It is not a big restaurant. 4-6 tables and the bar seating around the sushi bar, so it has a nice quaint feel to it. Definitely somewhere we will come back to read more

this is my go to sushi restaurant around arlington/mansfield. i've been visiting for a couple of years now and service has always been amazing, the inside is very cute and quant but small so not a lot of seating. the food is great they probably have the best sushi in this area of town. i've tried most of their special rolls and a lot of them are ok but my go tos are the salmon torched roll and the crawfish dynamite. they are soo yummy. and we also get the firecrackers too super good. read more

This is an intimate venue with about 4 seats at the sushi bar and 4 booths in the dining area. The fish was fresh and well portioned with great presentation. I ordered the sashimi bowl (this was chirashi and I'll fight anyone that says it isn't) and was pleasantly surprised with the little Korean banchan of the miyeok julgi bokkeum in my bowl. The fish portions were generous and it also included miso soup. My girlfriend ordered the eel bowl that consisted of healthy portions of unagi, rice, and eomuk bokkeum banchan, and a bowl of miso soup. The service was quick and very hospitable. Kudos to the person running the tables, register, and phones. We'll definitely be back. read more

Small restaurant with limited seating. Decor inside is homey and the atmosphere is very cozy and lowkey. My friend and I ordered miso soup and a bunch of sushi and it was all amazing. The Rainbow Roll is interesting and each sushi piece is unique. If you order enough sushi, they serve it in a giant boat! A hidden gem in Mansfield! Not a very big place itself, there are a few booth and a few table. Came here on a Saturday night and didn't have a wait for a table. Fantastic value! Chunks of the good stuff were proportional to the enveloping rice, for a fair price. Regular rolls average $8, specialty rolls around $13; all fresh and hearty. The space is tiny, with a comfortable capacity of 20 customers or less, in addition to the friendly workers. My wife and I are frequent visitors of Sushi Gio, and we believe it's the best sushi in DFW. They have a great selection of items on their menu. The sushi is always fresh and prepared within your view. Although the restaurant is not super big, I believe that's its superpower. You can dine in or order takeout. There are four tables and a bunch of seats at the sushi bar. They have sake, wine, and various types of beer. The service is what makes this place stand out in our opinion. It's family owned and you can tell that they take pride in what they do. Not to mention, the food is amazing! You pair that with phenomenal service in a small, intimate setting, and you have a 5 star restaurant located here in Mansfield, Texas. If you walk in and the place looks crowded with nowhere to sit, just give them your number and they will text you when your table is ready. Since we found Sushi Gio a few years ago, we haven't ventured out to any other sushi spots. They don't compare! If you're looking for good, quality sushi at a very reasonable price, definitely visit them when you get a chance! read more

This is my favorite local sushi spot. My husband found it here on yelp a few months ago and we've made it a date night staple in our home. The food is always fresh. The staff are courteous and attentive. The service is great from entry to exit. The restaurant is not very big and they stay busy but the wait is never too long. There's seating for groups up to 6. I definitely wouldn't recommend for a large party. However, they do offer to go and that also stays busy as well. Not that I want to share my favorite sushi spot, but they do deserve a good review. That's what brought us here and the food will keep us as customers as long as we're in Mansfield. read more

One of my absolute favorite sushi places! I've been eating here for years every time I come home - mainly takeout but occasionally dining indoors. Staff is very friendly! The place is a little small but if you come at a good time you'll get seated and served quickly. Food is so fresh and the chefs are consistent - every time I order I know what I'm gonna get quality and taste wise. Our go to sushi in Mansfield! Small family business that serves the best quality sushi in town! We always get the Butterfly Kiss roll - great when you're cutting out the carbs. We also love their special sushi as well - salmon belly, Hokkaido scallop, Japanese uni, and sweet shrimp (ebi). Currently, we are working on trying all the special sushi rolls. Small but cute little spot. Has about 5 tables and 8 seats at the bar. So make sure you call to see if there's space before you go in. Lots of people showed up and left or had to wait a while. It is worth the wait tho. Pretty good sushi for a little hole in the wall spot away from the major city. Quality is not bad. Variety is pretty vast. Service is great, but a little slow on a full house And the appetizers are pretty good, especially the karaage. Will most likely visit again if I'm in the mood for sushi and less than a 10 min drive. read more

The rolls have been a little fishy lately and I've been ordering for years from them. I will give 3 not 1 because I have a specific issue that doesn't apply to everyone. If you have food allergies then this is for you. The last 5 or so orders when we asked for substitutions due to food allergies we got the food with a sticky note that said sorry no substitutions. This was for things as simple as can you put the sauce on the side, or can you please omit sesame seeds on top due to food allergy. I even order extra items and say this is for the extra time to customize x roll and I put food allergy in the comments. I have an 11 year old that loves sushi with a pretty bad gluten allergy and a sesame seed allergy that we just learned this past year so smothering a roll in these items will result in serious stomach issues for days for her and a doctors visit. Sushi Gio takes my money, don't give me that item I even ordered to cover the inconvenience of putting sauce on the side, and give me a sticky note saying no substitutions. Kaiyo sushi off Broad Street on the other hand goes above and beyond for her. They even give us soy sauce cups labeled gluten free tamari and the sushi tastes more fresh. One time they even called us and said we can't make this specific roll gluten free and checked in on what they could swap out for her. This last time, and the last time I will order from Sushi Gio I ordered the shrimp tempura roll. They removed the shrimp tempura, the cucumber, and avocado. So I had a crab salad roll. They also gave me a sticky note for my daughter "no substitutions" so she couldn't eat her roll again. So substitutions and omissions for them is fine but none for customers even if they have food allergies and will get sick. The customer service is really bad and they need to recognize that food allergies are a real thing not a "we can't be bothered with you" thing. read more

I did not realize that this was such a small establishment when I walked in. It was extremely tiny, but it was full. There were like four booths on one side of the wall and two booths on the other. I knew that the food was going to be good because it was full and in the middle, they have a Sushi bar and I ordered mine to go however, I would love to go back and just try everything that I like. When I got home and we started eating the sushi I was pleasantly surprised! I suggest trying the dragon roll and absolutely getting the Gyoza when you go. Jim took care of me and my son tonight for dinner! He actually took care of everyone in the restaurant. Only server on staff and we were seated, orders taken and served in no time at all! Otherwise, I did order two California rolls for my kid and I, garlic Cajun edamame, pork gyoza and another roll (it had shrimp tempura and eel, but I can't remember the name). It was my first time trying the eel roll and I thought it was good. The California rolls were solid and my son enjoyed the gyoza potstickers. We came in on a Saturday around 3pm and the place was totally empty, but the staff was very nice and courteous when we entered to pick up our order. It took no time to put together and we enjoyed our sushi at home minus the fresh wasabi. It was also very clean in there. The quest is still on to find a place with the wasabi, but this was a nice place to stop! Thank you to the staff for the kindness.

It took us about 10 minutes for one of my plates only, and then another 10 minutes for the rest of the plates. We also kept eye on the conveyor belt, but we noticed it was scarce with plates. Coupled with the speed, it felt extremely slow for us to keep enjoying the space when it took a long time to get our sushi. In the end, my friend had ordered two basic salmon plates that we ended up not getting after 20 minutes. We asked for it to be taken off our check, to which our waiter kindly agreed. So... would I come here again? Probably not. The food was good, but the waiting times between make it not worthwhile for me. I wished the service was better.

Good food, everything else needs improvement. First off, the food is excellent. Done right every time. Has been since I've been coming, and I've been served by most of the chefs at least once. When you do get a seat and a server, they are quick to bounce immediately away from the table before you actually CAN order things. Response time is slow, and they have been forgetting food, drinks, checks, you name it a lot lately. I don't think this is from understaffing because there's usually plenty of servers. I've watched several parties straight up leave because the wait staff is taking too long. However... Chefs ARE sparse. Part of the problem with the wait times is lack of chefs. Please, hire more chefs at competitive wages. Now for the ugly. This place has taken a steep dive on quality in the interior the last couple of months. The tables no longer have the pretty lights under them turned on, half the lights are out around the restaurant, TVs are removed or just not on, THE AC IS CONSTANTLY OFF!!! Turn on the air conditioning please. The bathrooms are foul, hot, and there's a ventilation problem. The tables are not being cleaned between seatings, the "clean" dishes have food still on them. Yuck. This place has become discount buffet levels of nasty. Spend some money and fix up the restaurant. Lastly, the clientele here is hit and miss. Sometimes you get a great meal with people you never would have dined with before, sometimes you're at somebody's family reunion you didn't realize you'd be a part of. I've had really nice, polite people dining next to me, asking questions with normal conversations. I've had obnoxious, overly loud and hostile people at my table upsetting the rest of the restaurant and antagonizing the chefs and others. It's a mixed bag. But it's almost always noisy. They have music on and most of the time you'll never hear it. Collin, I know you read these posts. Your restaurant needs proper attention. Oh, they also check for food allergens, and no WiFi.
