Kevin was our server - best server we've had in a while, anywhere. He was so kind and patient since it was our first time. He made great recommendations and checked on us often without being pushy or hovering. He never let our drinks get empty and made sure we ordered enough for us to be full and happy. The sushi was SO DELICIOUS - this is definitely our new spot. So happy we decided to stop and try it out. 100/10 everything we tried from apps to dessert was so so good. My first visit to Okinawa was an easy 4 stars. The service was great, and they had a decent AYCE selection. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to host my birthday dinner here. I called almost two months in advance to make a reservation. I specifically asked if they could accommodate a large party of 25-30 guests, and they assured me they could. They told me we would be seated in a private party room. The day before my reservation, I called again to confirm everything. I gave them my final headcount and asked once more if we would still be seated in the private room. They reassured me that we would be in a separate area of the restaurant. Great! I was super excited to celebrate my birthday here. I arrived early so I could figure out the seating arrangements, only to find out that we were seated right in front of the entrance. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I spoke to the hostess, and she told me there was another party in the private room. I explained that I had called to confirm my reservation and was told that room was reserved for us. Her reasoning? The other party had 29 people, while mine had 28. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL...? Then, I believe the manager came over and asked what the issue was. I explained the situation, and she told me that the employee who spoke with me on the phone was new. ARE YOU SERIOUS? So you're telling me the person I spoke to yesterday was new, and the person I spoke to two months ago was new too? How convenient. I know my group can get a little loud when we're together, which is exactly why I requested a private area...not a table right in front of the door in the middle of the restaurant. The service was mediocre. The food was mediocre. Toward the end of the dinner, the manager offered me a gift card for the inconvenience. No thank you. I have had sushi all over the world, including in Japan. In the U.S., I typically try AYCE sushi restaurants when I travel. In fact, I used to own a Japanese Steakhouse with a sushi bar. So, I know my sushi. The food at Okinawa was by far the best of any AYCE sushi and close to what I have had at high-end sushi bars. To top that off, the service was better than almost any restaurant I have been to; especially in AYCE sushi places. The vast majority of AYCE restaurants take forever to bring reorders. This includes both sushi and others. Our server was frindly and helpful. He couldn't have been better. The menu is awesome; especially when the evening menu is available. It offers a better selection of better, for my taste, sushi. In addition, it is one of few AYCE sushi restaurants that includes sashimi. I should mention that I wasn't as impressed with the sashimi as I was with the sushi. The fish was delicious but it was sliced way too thin. Having said that, I wish I could have given them more than five stars. They stand in the top 0.1% of AYCE sushi restaurants. read more

Despite not being a sushi lover, I visited Okinawa Asian cuisine for the first time for a Saturday birthday lunch. Despite being AYCE with a huge menu, it is extremely affordable at $30 per adult person. I took a photo of the menu outlining the pricing structures further. I avoided all sushi items (which obviously comprised a majority but not the entirety of the menu) but tried the: Katsu chicken: Japanese style fried chicken cutlet coated in crispy Panko, topped with katsu sauce Crispy calamari: Deep-fried calamari served with sweet chili sauce Steak hibachi: Cooked on the grill, served with veggies and fried rice I was not floored by any of the menu items, but that is to be expected as they seem to specialize in sushi items. It did the job. Other members of my party downed literally 250+ pieces of sushi sashimi. Despite us having a large party ordering so many items, service was impeccable - fast and attentive. All in all, I cannot comment on the sushi, but I appreciate that they have a vast and affordable menu. Worth a try at the very least! read more

When I am craving sashimi, I always come here. I love that you can get small amounts of appetizers so you can dry many things, I also love that you can get so much sashimi and such a great price. Must get the crispy calamari for sure. Great value for the price. I've been to AYCE sushi places before and the dinner menu is definitely worth it. My favorite was the spicy Cajun white tuna, the salmon sashimi, and the salmon hibachi was just what I was wanting for a cooked salmon. They also have a dessert bar. The strawberry mousse was good. I've been to several AYCE sushi spots in DFW. As much as I wanted to enjoy this place, I don't think it quite stacks up to the competition. Firstly, drinks are not included in the AYCE pricing, unlike other places I've been to. Also all the portions are super small, and the sushi assembly is sloppy. The flavor, freshness, and quality are fine. Nothing was really notable in my opinion. I loved seared salmon, and I saw they had an option here, but the sear was incredibly weak, and I wouldn't even say it was a proper sear. Ironically, I did like the dessert bar they had. Service was friendly, but I was clearly eating with a young kid under 10, but they still changed her adult pricing.. I was hoping there would be more transparency in the pricing. I personally wouldn't recommend this place. I think it's definitely worth the drive to north Dallas for better AYCE places. read more

We came through on a weekday during lunch to try out this newly established restaurant and were in for a treat! Upon entering we were greeted instantly with a warm welcome from the lovely hostess and were seated promptly. Inside of the restaurant was decorated and designed fashionably in a modern way and was also clean and well lit. The restaurant serves and all you can eat experience that is served a' la carte in which you pick from the menu in order from your server. They have and abundance of food choices to pick from everything ranging from sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and even rice and noodle dishes. We tried a little bit of everything, and all the dishes were good we had. I personally enjoyed all of the appetizers such as the fried pork cutlet and tempura as well as the yaki udon and sushi rolls. Overall, we enjoyed this place and will definitely be back to try more dishes since we ate and ate until we couldn't eat anymore. I recently traveled to Arlington for a work trip and after a long day, we decided to search for an AYCE sushi place for dinner. Okinawa was highly reviewed on Yelp and I can see why. The food was good. There are your basic options (mostly salmon and a variety of tunas), hibachi, hot apps, cold apps, and a dessert bar. Unfortunately our work does not cover alcohol, so I did not get to enjoy their drinks but it looks like they have a great happy hour. I think for the price ($29), the value of what you get is great. As a lover of sushi, I would have loved to see some other varieties such as scallop, sweet shrimp, crab legs, or a featured premium item of the month or something could be nice to add a touch of variety. I also love the smaller portion sizes for the AYCE, since you can always order more. This allowed us to try a lot of the options. The service we received was excellent. On a Tuesday night, it was not too busy. We were seated immediately and the server took time to explain the AYCE process and the self-serve dessert bar. let me start by saying they have very good food. The ambiance is nice and although the wait staff is very nice some of them aren't trained very well. My Aunt was with s and asked one of our waiters not to reach across the table to serve people on the other side of the table. He constantly did it any way. I did not care for the mushroom soup it was very salty, and the cheese wonton lacked flavor and I didn't like the dip they had for them. Everything on the menu is included in the AYCE except drinks. The menu is pretty expansive, with a good selection of salads, appetizers, sushi, sashimi and even a small selection of hot entrees. There is no limit on how much you can order at any time (unless you count the surface area of your table as a limit). The food comes out fairly quickly and presentation is very impressive.
