It was clear from the start that finding the right caregiver and meeting all of Mom's needs was his top priority. He even gave us information on other options in case his services might not meet our needs. He is genuine in his concern and commitment to providing top level care. We could not have been more impressed when we met Mom's new caregiver Jasmine. Her cheerful, warm personality was a perfect fit, and Mom was immediately comfortable with her. She went out of her way to not only care for Mom but to also help us in any way she could. Unfortunately, by the end of January Mom was at the end stage of her life. Because she was so comfortable with Jasmine, we had her continue to come even though Mom also had Hospice care by that time. My Dad was becoming challenging to care for, and my Mom was getting tired. It was a difficult decision to bring care in since it's like bringing strangers into our home. However, BrightStar was on the recommendations page at San Diego Alzheimer's association, so we decided to give them a try. And we are happy we did, we have been blessed from the first minute. Olivia is our primary caregiver, and even though we have only had her come in for about six weeks, she is already part of the family. She is very attentive to my Dad, making sure his needs are met but staying firm when she needs too. He responds very well to her and enjoys her company. She does everything we've asked her to do and does it so well. Olivia is also there for my Mom providing emotional support and just plain friendship, which is so sweet it brings tears to my eyes. We have a second caregiver Rebecca when Olivia can't make it. She also fits right in as family, and we are delighted with her and her attentiveness to my Dad. Rebecca is also very supportive and friendly with my Mom. My mom feels very comfortable leaving the house while Olivia or Rebecca stays with my Dad, which is a big step when she thought she wouldn't want to leave him with a stranger. She came at night when it was more convenient for us and stayed as long as we had questions...and we had a lot of them, and she had a lot of answers and ideas. About mid February Interim fired that nurse and replaced her without a care plan in place for my mother. Pills were not given, breathing treatments not given. When I asked what happened I was not given a straight answer. These people are suppose to care for your loved ones. I got tired of the lies and inconsistency of care for my mom. I moved my mom home with me. I do not recommend Interim for any healthcare needs. They were aware of my discontent and really did nothing to make the situation better. I could feel the sigh of relief when I took my mom home. Please do your research before placing your loved in Interims care.
