DO NOT get the branzino! It is awful. I was so disappointed. Saturated with oil, overcooked and flavorless. And they placed a happy hour menu (buy one get one drink free) on our table but told us it was only for the bar- but the bar did not have chairs so we couldn't order our dinner there. What a fantastic tapas restaurant!! Located just steps from the water, this Spanish tapas hot spot has a fun atmosphere, amazing food and great waitstaff. Our favorite was the Grilled Octopus and the Chicken Enpanadas. I love small plates because you have the opportunity to try many different offerings all in one sitting. Our waitress Natalie was attentive, super versed on the food offerings and made sure that we had a great dining experience. The front of house manager stopped by as we finished up to make sure we were pleased. Avacado Grill is a must try for anyone in the West Palm Beach area. I felt compelled to immediately write a review of Avocado Grill because I had a very pleasant experience during my visit yesterday. I wasn't really planning to go here but I just happen to be walking around looking for happy hour. I went in, sat at the bar, and the friendly bartender mentioned that it was still happy hour until 7 and all drinks are half off. Yes!  It was 6:45 but she said not to worry. She could ring me up now and make the drinks later. Wow! That's great customer service so I stayed and started checking the food menu. But first, let me tell you about the Avocado Margarita. What? This was the first time I've tried this and I got immediately hooked. As far as food, I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab & Avocado to start. It was delicious and fresh. This would've been perfect with a side of chips. The next item I got was the Warm Butternut Squash & Brussels Sprouts Salad. This was so tasty especially the cranberry garlic dressing. There were other items I wanted to try from the menu but I ran out of time because I had another dinner reservation. I did have time for another cocktail though..lol :) I got the Bourbon Slush made w/ Jack, Drambuie, Passion Fruit, Bitters. I thought it was going to be sweet but it wasn't. What a great spot to ring in the new year. Had a late dinner reservation to avoid the typical bar scene for the ball drop. Enjoyed a magnificent drinks and great snacks while being outside in the heart of downtown WPB. It did turn into a dance bar vibe by 11, not the most covid friendly, but for dinner it exceeded all expectations. Started with the guacamole and rock shrimp. The guac was eh- could skip it next time, but the rock shrimp was to die for. Super crunchy, perfectly dressed shrimp on a bed of avocado. For entrees we got the two specials, miso sea bass and scallop and crab risotto. The risotto was so creamy and fresh. The fish was cooked perfectly, you could eat it with a spoon. So happy I found this spot on Yelp! The interior & ambiance was picture perfect very inviting, and very hipster. We ordered the guacamole w: chips (the chips were thin and had a hint of lime to them yum!), grilled tacos w/ truffle fries they were delicious had a great taste their was mango and guacamole in them the only thing I would recommend was to put some lime juice on them but they very filling and had a great taste, lastly we ordered the arugula salad which was simple and perfect if you want something light. I wasn't a huge fan of the Mexican mule it was ok got the job done but don't think I would get it again - the first cocktail I had was warm( I don't believe it was shaken the second one was definitely better). Last week had a small getaway with my wife in west palm, and decided to try something different from places we usually go. Tortilla didn't crumble. Great flavor - we both got salads, great flavor. The beet amd goat cheese salad was good but I'm not sure how I feel about the goat cheese being melted on the bread. This restaurant is very cute. The decor is very beach like and has a sophisticated feel. The food however, not so much. I ordered the beet salad ($15) the beets were old. Some of them inedible. The apples were also mushy. The goat cheese is in top of there crostini and they warm it to the point of burnt. The goat cheese was dry because of this and the salad was not dressed. Dry goat cheese is the worst thing ever, just try it, you'll agree. I also had a side of curried chick peas and cauliflower($9) the chick peas were mush and the cauliflower was very crunchy. We had an amazing time because the music was great. They had funny animation characters dancing on the bar. Some people were dancing on the high top area. We had entertainment while we enjoyed some good eats. Yes it's loud inside so outside sitting is an option if you don't want to yell to the person your dining with. Our server was great, he answered questions and explained portions with the blasting music going on. We did not get drinks but a lot of their drinks with alcohol can be made non-alcoholic. (I don't drink so it's nice to know what restaurants can do that.) In food we ordered a bunch of different options and enjoyed everything. Their large plates are big portions and I was happy with the couple of small plates we ordered plus guacamole. Their guacamole was fresh and delicious. It came with chips. We ordered fish tacos which came with a side of fries. The fish tacos were well cooked and the fish itself was nice and crispy. We also ordered omelette since on the weekend they have brunch options as well. And lastly, we ordered mushroom fricassee. The mushroom small plate was amazing with grits, cheese and truffle oil. I have had lunch here a few times and I've never been disappointed the skirt steak is very good. The service is good and quick for lunch. You will not be disappointed. My friends have been telling me how great this place is and today was my lucky day. We were supposed to dine down the street but due to really poor service we got up and left and came here. Win for us. Our server, Dell, couldn't have been a more welcoming server. He was attentive and helped us choose our selections. We started with the zucchini blossoms which are filled to the max with creamy goat cheese and a tomato jam on the side. We also ordered the guacamole which had a very nice flavor and very creamy texture. The guys got Bloody Mary's and my friend and I went for the margarita option. You get to choose your tequila, type of margarita( classic, strawberry, avocado) and then there are add ons. We both got the Avocado and I added jalapeno to mine. They came out very sweet and we told Dell and he brought us lime juice and it cut the sweetness perfectly. Thank you Dell! For lunch 3 of us ordered the Prime Burger. It's a delicious juicy burger with brie cheese, onions, and avocado slices. I found it to be a knife and fork burger because after two bites I was making a mess. For the side I chose the arugula salad instead of fries. My boyfriend got the French fries and they were good too. My friend got the Mexican Cobb salad and she loved it. I will definitely be returning to try other menu items and I've heard they have a great Happy Hour. I ordered delivery from Avocado Grill and got the Local Arugula Salad with Salmon and the Octopus which comes with fingerling potatoes and chorizo and almonds. The Salmon was cooked well to a medium and they gave my a nice sized piece! The salad is simple (I asked for no onion or tomatoes) but still fresh with a nice tangy dressing they provide. I was impressed with the cook of the octopus because it's a little tricky to cook and can easily become chewy but this was cooked well and tender. This restaurant was really good and unique. The presence of avocado was in a lot of food, drinks, and decor, but still wasn't over the top. We came in with a reservation for 6 on a Saturday night. We started with ginger guacamole, shishito peppers, beets and warm goat cheese, burrata foccacia, and grilled calamari. Each were really good (though I didn't get to try the calamari - more on that later)! For entrees, some of us got medium plates or large plates, and they were definitely enough to satisfy our hunger with all the apps we shared. My friend and I split two medium and one large: the octopus, rock shrimp bang bang, and hanger steak. The octopus was cooked perfectly and wasn't too chewy, which is really hard to do! The rock shrimp was unreal and would've been a great shared plate. The hanger steak was good, too, and the chimichurri sauce was tasty. One of our friends got a burger with truffle fries, so obviously we all had to try the truffle fries and we all loved them. For drinks, we all got a variation from the cocktails menu, which had some pretty diverse and interesting drinks. I went with the mezcal mule, which was heavy on the smoke and really yummy. The reason for 3 stars instead of 4 - we had two tree nut allergies at the table and notified our server. He said he would make sure all nuts were removed from dishes, but brought us over the grilled calamari with romesco sauce (contains walnuts) and an octopus with almonds still on the plate... obviously it was a busy Saturday night, but if these things weren't spotted, it could've been a serious issue. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Some friends and I were in town for a concert and we were looking for a place to eat dinner. Of course I immediately went to my YELP app to look for a place. I choose this place because it was vegan friendly for some in our group and because we all love avocados! Yes you read that right, avocado margarita. It was delicious, the right balance of sweet and sour and enough avocado to let you know it's there but not overwhelming. The grilled avocados were smokey and creamy. The guacamole was made fresh and perfectly spiced. I was not starving so I got the avocado and crab appetizer. Very fresh, although it needed a bit of zip to it, it was a bit bland. We enjoyed this place so much we made reservations before we left for brunch the next day! When we came the next day the service was again impeccable. I ordered a bloody Mary which I was disappointed with because there was hardly any alcohol in it. My second drink was the mimosa with a splash of O.J. and it was just right. I was still on my avocado and crab kick, love the combination, so I got it Benedict style. Oh my it was so decadent! We finished off with the avocado chocolate mousse which was a creamy chocolatey goodness. I wish I lived closer to this place, then again maybe not because I would never leave! Unconventional and Original! Don't come here for burgers and fries. Wrong place. But if you are interested in healthy, quality ingredients and unique flavors then I think you will love Avacodo Grill. No, it's not a budget restaurant, it's gonna cost ya like $30-$35 for a wonderful meal. I was thinking of a Poke Bowl or a Ginger Guac but instead chose the Sweet Potato and Coconut Crusted Mahi and I was not sorry. It was delightful and served hot, over a small arugula salad. The flavors were unique and kinda amazing. Particularly the dressings which were both served with the meal. My friend and I both ordered the same selections and we agreed on our opinion that the food was wonderful! For the price of the entre' I would have liked a little more salad. Was it a perfect meal? Almost, but the service on a busy Sunday afternoon was not up to par. I would absolutely try again and I am sure the food will be incredibly good, hopefully the service will be better but no doubt you will enjoy the food.
