We love Avocado's in Monroe so we thought we would try the West Monroe location. The food was excellent. The service by the wait staff could have been better. She brought out drinks right away but, we sat there for a good while waiting to place our order. My husband had to ask another waitress if we could order and she took it. It was an overall good experience. Our main complaint is that the booths were the most uncomfortable thing we had ever sat in. The seats were hard as rock and the back had no support at all. We both went home with back aches. We will probably make the extra miles to go back to the Monroe location next time. read more

We've passed this spot up a few times before and finally decided to give it a try. My wife got the Benjamin, which is a dish supposedly made by a customer. Customers are not chefs!! The Benjamin was nothing but regular tacos on a flour tortilla ( seriously who eats those thick ass flour tortilla shells) with fried avocado, what's wrong with regular avocado?? She didn't like it. I got a Spinach mushroom and CHEEEEEEESE quesadilla, again with those thick ass flour tortillas. The quesadilla was ridiculously salty!! I mean Dead Sea salty. Annnnndd the CHEEEEESE, was almost non existent. The service The service was ok, our waiter was solid, handled us Checked in on us, he did his job well. To begin, the waitstaff was very rude. we should have left then, but we gave it a chance. We ordered our meals and while waiting a roach crawled right past my niece's head. Total freak out moment for her. We reported it and the waitress didn't even apologize. We went ahead and stayed due to time constraints and when their food arrived it was a challenge to eat. I love to eat avocado's and so seeing a restaurant when I was visiting Monroe recently that specialized in them piqued my interest. It was fantastic! I ordered the stuffed avocado appetizer, which was great and I the Santa Fe Taco Salad, which was also delicious. The only thing I would do differently would be to eat the stuffed avocado with a spoon. The stuffing tended to want to fall off the fork onto the plate as I ate it so a spoon would probably work better. There are other avocado dishes on the menu, which I intend to try the next time I'm in town! read more

Have become very skimpy with their portions. Chicken fajitas ($16) come with approx 4-5 ounces of chicken. Ribeye fajitas ($18) about the same 4-5 ounces of steak. Quality still fairly good. All in all Don Tomas in Monroe is better quality, portion size and price. read more

After spending an hour deciding what to eat, I finally picked Avocados because they had a mushroom quesadilla that sounded awesome. I ordered ahead and was told it would take 10 minutes. I arrived in 10 minutes and immediately felt the poor customer service. I was appreciative as always and left with my order. Within 5 minutes I was at my hotel and opened my box only to find a completely soggy and inedible quesadilla. It appeared that the mushrooms were overly sautéed in butter and the juices were everywhere making the tortilla mushy and the mushrooms not desirable. Ordered lunch through Waitr. 3 meals. 2/3 meals were correct. The third was Huevos de whatever it was..... I paid for additional tortillas and didnt receive ANY tortillas. Not the ones the meal comes with or the additional I paid an extra dollar for. The order came 1/2 rice 1/2 beans, requested in notes eggs tortillas and rice only. Made detailed notes on order request and for driver request to check order due to household members dietary restriction. They were disappointed and so was I, to have paid over $11 for them to only be able to eat only part of the eggs and rice! I'm giving this place only three stars not because of the food but because of the service. Reasons for this is because it took so long for our drinks to come out. We got our food before our drink orders came out. I mean how long can it take to make a margarita? My son was without a refill for almost the entire meal. Now on to the food; it was great. I had the chicken salad and it was amazing. The chicken was moist and juicy and the veggies were very fresh and crisp. My son ordered the enchiladas and they too were great. My drink once I finally received it was one of a kind. If you haven't yet you should try a Dos Equisarita. That's a margarita and Dos Equis mixed. Amazing!!
