Avole is located in Seattle's vibrant Central District neighborhood. Yes, it's been open since May 2022, so I'm a bit late to the cafe party. But I finally had an opportunity to stop by on 2/18/24. Limited outdoor and indoor seating, but great interior decor and overall vibe. The young barista sure nailed an amazing mocha! Driving from the the CD towards Montlake then to the UDistrict, the amazing scent wafting from my takeout cup. I've always favored Ethiopian coffee beans, especially from the Yirgacheffe southern region. Avole is definitely a worthy detour!

An Ethiopian coffee shop with amazing coffee and nice decor. Went by this morning to grab a cuppa with friends, and it was lovely. The barista was so friendly and we even cracked jokes with him. I got Hazelnut Latte and it was good. Super nice coffee place in heart of Central District.

Great blueberry coffee cake and a pretty solid lavender oat milk latte! The service was super friendly and very helpful. They didn't have any nonfat so the barista identified their other options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was really cute with homey and tasteful touches of decor including plants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not too many tables so grab one if you see it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be back when I'm in the neighborhood.

Good, strong coffee! The servers here are what I would describe as "too good for this world." [[HIGHLIGHT]]You come in just for a cuppa but what you really get is direct sunshine and a sense of belonging, which is super rare in Seattle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place can be easily missed but you'll see plenty of locals stopping by here every morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If the space was bigger it would be popping![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Such kind people, Gavin gave me a sample of espresso and half a sandwich. I ordered the Earl juice, a nod to a community leader. I chatted with another customer as well. It's cool they foster a vibe of strangers talking to each other.

Cute local coffee store that my friend and I visited. They don't do jebena shots anymore (apparently the jebena kept breaking :')) but the sweet macchiatos were good. - Coffee was the perfect sweetness level for my friend (on the sweeter side for me). - Nice ambiance with a smaller space! - Not much food options. - Barista was sweet and welcoming

Home to Community, Friendly Baristas and High-grade Coffee. Cafe Avole is local community harbor and home for all coffee lovers of all backgrounds in the heart of Central District. They are a direct reflection of their nearby residents and passing visitors who make up the district's diverse neighborhood. And their top-tier Ethopian coffee speaks to what the cafe represents. I recently visited Cafe Avole looking for a place to read my book with some coffee to kill time before my next appointment. Searching for a nearby coffee shop, I decided to visit Avole because of their raving reviews online. I have to say, their all-star reviews definitely lives up to their ratings! During my visit, I ordered their peppermint mocha and tried one of their macaroons. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the mocha because they used Ghiradelli syrup for their chocolate base. As a mocha connoisseur, coffee shops that use commercial syrup like Hershey's or Ghiradelli usually end up creating a very basic mocha and it's the type of chocolate they use that really sets other mochas apart. I was definitely surprised. Despite using Ghirardelli chocolate syrup, their mocha tasted pretty elevated, and I believe it's because of their Ethiopian coffee. The vibrant fruity and flowery characteristics of the coffee truly spoke to me when I tried their mocha. In addition to coffee, they also served a small selection of baked goods and macaroons that I believe are sourced by independent bakers. The macaroons were beautifully decorated with fine details, but it didn't taste too impressive in comparison to the many macaroons I've had in my lifetime. I don't think you'd be missing anything if you passed on the macaroons. The baristas were also really friendly. I really got a sense of community from the cafe because there were a lot of people coming in and out, regulars stopping by to chat with the baristas and friends who'd sit in for a while to catch up. The cafe is pretty small and cozy, it has a high-top table by the window that can probably fit 4 guests and then a bench for folks to sit while they wait for their coffee. Because of the size and layout, this may not be the ideal place to settle in with your laptop or school work since there's limited surface table. Overall, I had a humbling experience at Cafe Avole. If I lived nearby, I would be proud to have a coffee shop like Cafe Avole nearby.

I loved the Grand Rising as a perfect refreshing juice! The ambiance of this coffee shop was so comforting too and the baristas were super helpful and friendly in helping me figure out what to order! I definitely want to come to try their coffee out but since it was the afternoon I opted for some of their homemade juice which was exactly what I needed! Highly recommend checking out their juices!

Great coffee, all Ethiopian. I enjoyed my reasonably priced, tasty oat latte (4 shots in a 24-oz. cup). Kind, friendly barista and nice easygoing ambiance. Seating inside is three countertop seats good for people-watching and a long side bench; outside there are a few metal tables with chairs.

This was a coffee shop, that was originally in south Seattle. And watching this company expand to the Central district, is amazing! I'm very Proud of Sol and Gavin. Their hand crafted drinks are something they take pride in. If you don't like coffee they have smoothies and cold pressed drinks, made fresh BIG GREEN FLAGS: black man owned and all women Baristas.

    Turkey Bacon Breakfast Stack Sandwich

One of the best experiences I've had in Seattle but the food/drinks were even better!! Service was amazing and the person helping me was thorough in their descriptions when I asked questions. The prices were great and all of the ingredients used were high quality and ORGANIC, I truly cannot explain in words how good my experience was! You gotta get the breakfast stack, also a ginger shot to wash it down and power you through the rest of the day! Appreciate the high quality service, one love!

Excited about a new Ethiopian coffee shop in Central District !!!

Nothing excites me more than good Ethiopian Coffee. The shop offers great coffee, tea, smoothies and fresh juice .... If I lived in CD I'd certainly stop here everyday for my coffee and juice fix. Everyone was super friendly !

Climb upstairs and get ready to be wowed…read more It's not the easiest to find, but the Pike Place location sits on the top floor of the Corner Market building. Hidden, and almost spa-like. We came in on a rainy morning and found seats next to the glowing fireplace. Talk about cozy! Massive windows overlook the chaotic market below. They serve coffee, tea, pastries, a few food items, and snacks. My salted caramel latte was pretty incredible. This might sound cheesy but as I drank it, I really couldn't believe how exquisite it was. Very lightly sweetened, unbelievably smooth, the foam holding its shape all the way to the last sip, and that little touch of salt tying everything together. No joke, possibly the best latte I've ever had. Back to the space, it's dark, warm, and sexy, with soft gold and amber accents. It reminded me so much of the way I designed my own home so of course we ended up staying much longer than planned. We felt so at home. So if you're a coffee lover, you need to find this spot and experience it for yourself. One word - transcendent.

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. I did come back to try their matcha matcha drink only to find it gone from their current menu as of May 2026. Instead, their turon matcha immediately caught my eye, as it has banana and I've been obsessed with banana-flavored toppings and puree on my matcha lately. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. Even if it isn't on the top of that list, their drinks are still 5+ star quality.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.
