    Walk This Way Pet Service

I have used Walk This Way Pet Service for over one year now. I can confidently say that my service…read moreis still as exceptional as ever. I travel for work, so I am out of town often. Lori is the sitter I use and she is outstanding. Recently I was away on business and received a call from Lori. Normally she sends pictures and videos of my precious Boomer. When I received a telephone call I was surprised. This time Lori seemed worried. She told me that she noticed a little blood around Boomer's paw. I really did not think much of it; I know he loves to play a lot and that he loves to scratch his post. However, Lori was adamant that something wasn't right. I thought maybe she may have been overreacting when she insisted that he be seen by a vet. Lori was already booked for the day, but managed to change her schedule to take Boomer to his vet - thank God she is so vigilant! Had we waited much longer, Boomer may have acquired an abscess. His nail had grown into his paw (shame on me for not trimming his nails) and was beginning to become infected. The situation was so serious that my vet did a minor surgery to make certain my baby was healthy again. Lori not only dropped him off at the vet, but also, made her next appointment on time, then returned to bring Boomer (cone on his head and all) back home. I flew home to be with him immediately. This business is exceptional, the level of care, outstanding. I cannot thank Lori enough for going over and above for my Boomer. I am forever grateful to her and I refuse to use anyone else!!!

I've used numerous cat sitters over the years and Lori is by far the BEST. Each visit Lori sends texts, videos and/or photos, which is reassuring when I'm missing my fur babies. Best of all, my cats like her. They typically take time to warm up to new people, but not with Lori. I can't recommend her services enough.

She can also have an extra half pill every 8-12 hrs if anxious during the day. Cover well with the turkey and give. If she is still anxious, call her vet to increase dose. When I picked her up on Sept 9, I was told that she wouldn't be allowed to come back to the kennel as she "wasn't a good fit". She was extremely anxious to the point that she was shaking and had to be hand fed. Unfortunately, when I arrived back home and counted the trazadone, I saw that no extra doses had been given, just the bedtime dose. The pill bottle itself even said give extra if needed. My instructions also said "If she is still anxious, call her vet". When I called Countryside, I was told "We never call vets". The problem is, I wasn't called either and my dog was allowed to be extremely anxious when she could have been medicated. I would like to know why my dog was allowed to be so scared when Countryside had extra medication to give her and failed to let the vet or me know that she needed an increased dose. Countryside suggested I get a home caretaker. My dog won't let anyone in her house. She's be very abused prior to our rescue. I've been working with a trainer to help. I sent an email asking for review by a manager or above, but got not repose from Countryside.

My truck broke down and had to be repaired in Maryland so we were a week late getting back. I knew the food would run out so I called and spoke to the manager. My dog was on a special diet. I told the manager to go to Hamby Road Animal Hospital to get more food and have them call me for my credit card. No one followed through and when we got back my dog had lost two pounds because she wasn't getting enough to eat. It was very noticeable when I picked her up. Then Covid started and the lobby shut down. There were less employees too so for years now I've never seen the dogs outside like I used to. Plus our dog seemed hoarse the second to last time she was boarded there which struck us as odd. Last March 2023, I had to have surgery. We boarded our dog for only two nights. When she was picked up, not only was she hoarse again but she had to poop 3 times in a row. So we surmised she was put in her room and ignored. She would only bark if she need to go out or wanted her play and walk times I was paying for. Our dog was so well house broken that she held her poop and barked to be taken out so much she got hoarse. We decided that she would never go there again. She is dead now from cancer but the two trips we made last year before she got sick, we took her with us. We decided not to use this place anymore.

I found them on Yelp and when I asked our vet for a boarding recommendation, they mentioned The Pet Resorts. I called to schedule my dog's "vacation." They took down all of my information and sent me an email with everything we agreed upon, including a furminator bath and groom. The staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. They also seemed very knowledgeable. I received an email and phone call reminder of our dog's stay with them. They suggested that I fill out the new customer packet prior to arriving. However, I had printer issues and was not able to. They printed it for me when I arrived and I filled it out in their spacious lobby. It was lengthy and thorough. Their nightly rate of $40 per dog is for their Standard Runs, $52 per dog for their Pet Suites. Add $5 per night per dog during Holiday periods. Half day fee for pickups after 1 PM. Pick-up and drop off anytime during their business hours. When I picked up my fur baby, he looked so good! Probably the best groom he's ever gotten. We were very impressed. They also gave me a report card that accurately described his personality. He was definitely tired when he got home. The Pet Resorts board cats as well. They offer a pet taxi to pick up and drop off your pet for an additional charge. We will continue to use TPR for our dog's future vacations.
