I spend most of my time on Angie's List, so this is my first review here. I'm not affiliated with these guys. You'll probably see the same review on Angie's list. A great place to go to get a mid to high mileage reliable Subaru. This dealer is run by Jason. The dealer is loosely affiliated with the highly rated (on Yelp) mechanic shop All Wheel Drive Auto in Kirkland. Check those reviews. I've been taking my Subaru Outback to the Kirkland shop for many years. Often the dealership gets Subaru's where the repairs to the car are more than the car is worth. Jason buys them, AWD Auto does the work to repair them, and then the AWD Auto dealership resells them. You'll get an inspection report including the work done to the car by the shop. In my case, I got 3 years of history because the previous owner had used the AWD shop. Note that this is only for the Subarus. The dealer has other lower priced non-Subaru cars there, but they don't have the same inspection report. Knowing that the Subarus have been checked over by a reputable shop I trust who really knows Subarus takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation. Getting a lemon needing a lot of mechanical work is my biggest fear when getting a used car. Hiring a mechanic to look at the car is usually $100 each check and takes scheduling and time. I've owned a Subaru Outback I bought new in 1998. That range of 2.5 liter Subaru engine is notorious for head gasket issues causing engine failure from overheating. Mine had that problem. They are also interference engines, which means if the timing belt breaks it's likely that you are going to have some major damage to your valves and/or pistons. Either of these repairs are high ticket items of themselves and if not done can mean you need a new engine. I called AWD Auto sales early December looking for another Subaru Outback with around 100k miles on it. Jason didn't have any in stock and said that it's rare he gets one with that few miles on it given how he gets the majority of his cars. However, I was lucky. Less than a week later, Jason has a car come in that had 107,000 miles on it where the owner was going back to another country. It was a 2000 Subaru outback, looked great and Jason gave me a very reasonable price given the range I was finding on craigslist, Autotrader, etc for the Seattle area. If you call and tell him what you are looking for, it's possible he can eventually find it (assuming you have some time to wait). I took the car from him and drove it to Canada right afterwards. So far so good. Rides and drives great. I'm considering getting another Subaru in the $3000 range for a friend who just needs a reliable car. read more

I will start by saying, we were looking for a Subaru for weeks, all over craigslist and different used car sites, we searched for and wide for the right Subaru with everything we had imagined in a Subaru, we found it, so we thought, we packed up and set off to an hour and a half away, just to stumble upon a nicely shined and polished lemon as sour as could be, ran miserably, we weren't thinking that would be the case at the time, more or less we had our hearts set on something specific, so I did a close proximity search while we were there on ol' trusty 99, horrible decision, we made this same trip for two weeks straight thinking the same thing getting the same problem, I almost gave in to one just because I couldn't handle the strain any longer, I tried for personal owners, it just seemed to not want to happen there either no matter what I did, I set up times to meet and the person, sold the car already, thanx guy! Bruised and beat in we gave up, a couple days later did a quick surf, found a car that looked to good to be true but not only that, had it's major repairs just done as well, I was lookin for 5 speed but no longer cared any longer considering the ones I had seen numerous times, over and over again, we started this car up very skeptically, I searched and searched for any little hidden defect, I can only imagine what the man thought when I wouldn't stop asking questions and wouldn't believe what he said, just used it as reference since this is how it works on 99 , no trust, this car was superb ran great, drove great and looked great, every little aspect of the car worked and was in great condition, there were little things here and there but nothing compared to what I had been dealt for the last week's, We found it, the car we were gonna drive for life, once we had finally made our decision, the owner came on over and made a deal, though he couldn't make a deal that only benefits the buyer (what any buyer wants), but we agreed on a price that suited us both and helped both parties ( considering the major repairs for $1200), not only that, he worked with what we had, we got a great deal on it and he told us everything we needed to know on the car and was very pleasant to talk with, we have had the car for a week and have drove over 600 miles into the mountains and more with not even one issue, it's like driving a brand new car in my opinion; still no issues and I have had a permanent smile ever since and have had nothing but great reviews from friends and family on the car and how it runs,very very happy and thankful. Had a great experience here with helping my daughter purchase her first vehicle. Generally skeptical of salespeople, I found a very refreshing experience here and also at another Monroe used car dealership. Earlier in the day of 1/30/2014, my daughter had tried working with the salespeople at Harris Ford in Lynnwood (Do NOT go there!!) and was pulled into what I personally believe to be a bait & switch scenario. After reading the reviews, it looked like a regular practice of theirs. We refused to further communicate with them and searched around for the right vehicle. We came upon this lot by pure coincidence and decided to stop and take a look. Though they're weren't many of interest to her that were within her price range, she found one that stood out to her. The gentleman there was not only friendly, he was not at all pushy. He gave us his number, instead of the other way around, asked us to call him if we had any questions. Getting ready to leave the lot, there was no pressure whatsoever. In all my years, I have never had an experience as relaxing when buying a car! He willingly went in to pull the car history report, a more detailed one than that Carfax joke of a report. We had full disclosure of a prior accident, and he showed us everything that was wrong with the vehicle before we could even ask him. He also told us of an oil leak underneath, and upon inspection is actually an easy fix. He was very flexible in working with us, as he said he believes taking care of the customer brings them back. He's right! We'll be back in the future! I can't believe that we found someone with terrific ethics in a sales occupation. Especially after the experience we had with the big dealership. If your in the position of shopping for a vehicle, give yourself the opportunity to check this place out before you buy any vehicle, you'll see a tremendous difference in the service and level of honesty. I bought a 2012 Subaru Forester from Jason last month after my beloved Subaru was crushed in a windstorm. Jason was very easy to work with. He has a unique situation; he runs all his cars through All Wheel Drive Subaru shop in Kirkland, so this car had new gaskets and a rebuilt engine. Had it had a timing belt (vs. a chain), that would have been replaced too. I took the car to my mechanic prior to purchase and he was very favorably impressed. Jason was really a dream - no pressure, but reliable, good communicator, went the extra mile during subsequent snow storm to mail my plates to me. Purchased an Audi for cash, knowing that it needed a few cosmetic interrior fixes. Hughly unimpressed when after 6 weeks I had to spend $8200 at the dealership to install a new transmission. I did look at the service history with #2 previous owners and all service work completed at the local Audi dealerships before buying. There was no indication on the reports that there was an issue or indications of an issue. I would never have expected that I would need to spend money on any major item so soon afetr buying the vehicle. My wife and I purchased a Forester from AWD just over a year ago and it has been, by far, the best car I have ever owned. After a few CL listings and other dealers, we decided to check this place out and it was well worth the drive out to Monroe. No high pressure sales, he let us take the car out on our own and gave us plenty of time and space afterward to make our decision.
