If I could put zero stars, I would. I was promised by Bing I would receive a rebate from PSEG after I had a Bosch heat pump purchased and Installed. I was told by Bing i had to pay $700 to have a Manual J report done by a company he gave me processThe required report to get my PSEG rebate. I followed all of his instructions. He was sent the pictures with the serial numbers and the model numbers right away. I found his instructions and did everything he said was required. Every time I called He just kept blowing me off, I would call and I would wait for responses. I was patient I gave him time since I knew he was a busy man, but all he did was give me the runaround , he actually lied and said he never got the photos that he needed to process the request then another time when I called him, he told me the system was down with PSEG. He was waiting for their website to come back up and he would let me know , when it was finally submitted to PSEG. Then a few months later, I called PSEG to find out the status of my rebate and they told me it was never processed. So I called Bing back again and he told me he didn't send it in because he never got the pictures, which was a lie.. So he needed more pictures. So my husband and myself being seniors could not go up in the attic since there was no staircase we had to wait for my son who was working to come over and take these pictures which took about six weeks to get them . So I obviously I folded into being immediately and he told me it was too late that the year had passed, and it was too late to process the rebate. That's when I got Brian involved, and matters only got worse. Well this went on for months and months So the timeframe was not my fault it was because of Bing's lack of professionalism and honesty, so finally I called his supervisor , Brian.. Brian really did not want to hear my issues and was very unprofessional and said that Bing told him the correct information and that AWS did not owe me nothing.Meanwhile, Bing said they did right from the beginning that I was entitled to this rebate from PSEG he just had to file for it and I had to do my Manual J report. Anyway, this went on for over a year back-and-forth and I still to this day have received nothing. Bing the employee of the company should not have ever told me that I was entitled to this and should've never told me to spend $700 to get the report done to process the rebate . The only thing I can say right now is this Company is not true to their word and when you call a supervisor and try to get this resolved, you get absolutely no satisfaction. Shame on them. read more

I have been using AWS for years. Overtime they have repaired and installed toilets. Installed a ductless heating and air conditioning unit that I love (and reinstalled a damaged split unit by roofer). As a side note, that ductless unit came in handy more than once when I had issues with my boiler. I turned on the heat and was not cold in the winter while I waited for the boiler to be repaired. My only complaint with this install is upstairs. The downstairs in my house has the familiar units on the wall for heating and cooling. Upstairs in my house I decided to do a hidden unit and vent through the wall. Looking more like a traditional air conditioning vent. We connected two rooms to that unit. Brian did the measurements and recommended the unit. Apparently there are two hidden unit sizes that are available. He picked the smaller of the two. Needless to say, it doesn't work. Years later of going back and forth with AWS, I still have the smaller unit in and I'm a little salty. This expensive unit does not cool the upstairs. I'm not holding that against them as a company however. I do wish I could get resolution. AWS also installed the plumbing and flowback unit for my inground sprinkler system. They have fixed and replaced several leaking pipes I have had in this old house. Even requiring to break walls in one instance. I think the biggest job was putting in a new boiler and hot water heater after the original boiler cracked and water was all over my basement. Man, getting that old boiler up the steps was a five man job!! I believe the boiler was the most impressive job. The plumber came in and was very knowledgeable. He pretty much re-piped everything going to that new boiler. Even had to run new gas lines because the old ones weren't up to code. What was really impressive, as pointed out by the inspector when he came, is the fact that they took the time to put the boiler up on concrete bricks. They also made sure to do new venting to the chimney and added the proper plumbing so pressure doesn't build up and I get an explosion. This wasn't a cut and Page job that you would get from a handyman but a real installation from people that know what they're doing. I get the unit serviced yearly and try to keep it purring. Most recently I was getting water spitting out of my second floor radiator. When I looked at my boiler the level of the water was all the way to the top which it should not be. I tried to drain it out but nothing came out of the spicket. I made the service call and AWS came the next day. Paul is an older plumber and comes with experience. I like that. Calmed me and made me confident in his abilities. He was very patient and explained a lot more in the hour he was here than I've heard in all my other service calls. First of all he told me I need to drain my water weekly from the furnace. That will become a Sunday ritual. This will clear out the sediment so it doesn't settle. I have steam radiators and of course everything flows back into the furnace. All of that sediment is no good. He reminded me to turn off the gas and the electricity to the unit in the warm months. I'm not using the unit going those times. From now on I will also make sure that I drain it yearly right before I turn it on because all the water from the pipes and the radiators come back down during the summer months. Secondly he told me I need to drain my hot water heater once a year. Connect a hose, put it outside the window and flush all the sentiment out. He also pointed out that this should have been a part on the water heater that helps keep the water clean. That is not a part of my water heater. When I replace this I will make sure. I think it's called a solenoid. Any plumbers out there can correct me. The last thing he offered is to change out my vents on the radiators because the brand isn't that great of a brand. What is really good is that he didn't try to break the bank when he came here. He cleared the clog. Drained my furnace from the extra water. Cleaned what needed to be cleaned and put a chemical in it. On top of that he did a preventative maintenance in order to get it ready for the winter. It was all under $400 and I think that's fair for a service call in this day and age. read more

1 STAR - VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE We are extremely dissatisfied with this service. The plumber clearly delayed the job in order to increase the number of billable hours. Instead of resolving the issue promptly, he drove around for nearly 3 hours and then sat in his vehicle for almost an additional hour, claiming he was searching for a part that costs around $200. In the end, we were charged nearly $2,000 for a part that was installed in less than 40 minutes. This gives the strong impression that unnecessary delays were used to inflate the final bill. Highly unprofessional and unacceptable business practice. To make matters worse, the area was not even cleaned after the work was completed. We would not recommend this service to anyone. read more

They deleted my bad review on Google, so I post it on Yelp instead. 1. It took many months without heating (including winter time!) to change a boiler. They sit on their hands instead of making sure that involved departments and subcontractors are doing their job timely. 2. Overcharged us for the boiler. Home Depot has plenty of models in $2k range, yet they told us boiler costs $6k-10k. 3. The overpriced heater was crappy - smells like burned gas when it works, and has a long feedback loop for heating shower water 4. They did not install proper black pipes outside, so we had to reinspect (wasting another month for that), and in the end they still didn't change anything, just deceived the inspector by painting their silver pipe. 5. After they installed the heater, there was lots of noise in the pipes, I had to pay separately to clean the pipes (should have been covered by installation work) read more

I called in for a quote and they pushed to come to my business to give me a estimate. I was told this was free of charge but when the plumber showed up, he looked in my bathroom for no more then 3 minutes, quoted me 3x what other companies have quoted me and said it was the best price in town. Get out of here! I would be a fool to believe that! As I nicely declined, the plumber told me I would need to pay a charge since they came to me to give me a quote! I was never so disappointed with my relationship with this company. After 6 years of service contracts and a $10,000 Navien installation, they screw me over. I called for a repair on my combo Navien system. I had heat but no hot water. They are supposedly experts with this system. Well, the 2 guys they sent over, took 6 hours to find the problem. They did ridiculous things to try to find the problem. Like blow in tubes and clean air filters and reset the system. Finally, they called the manufacturer and found out the problem - THE 3 WAY VALUE!!! After they left and I paid the over $600.00 bill I checked on the internet, no hot water but heat on a Navien combo and in 30 seconds it came up 3 WAY Value. So to replace a $29.00 valve they said it would be another $600.00 for what should be a 2-hour job. What I would have like as a loyal customer is some consideration with price. read more

Our shower was leaking onto the living room floor, AWS came on time and repaired the pipes efficiently with respect for our property and helpful demeanor. They accepted a CC digitally and explained the rate before they arrived. good communication. They also tested the quality of their work thoroughly. As I write this it has been a week and it has operated perfectly ever since and I have photos of the new installed parts and it looks like a perfect, professional, reliable job. I will probably hire them again, maybe even to convert my basement from oil to gas. read more

Pretty sure the plumber that came to fix my leak was high on coke... He took about 6 smoke breaks ,breath reeked of alcohol and was slurring his words while talking to me .. The technicians (one of them was named Muhammad) were polite, professional, and corrected the problems in a very reasonable amount of time. on 10/24/22 Paid ASW $179.23 for an estimate to work on our heating system. After 6-8 phone conversations with the office over a 3 week period and no results, my husband spoke directly to Brian and Bill, owners who said they will get back to us with an estimate. They never gave us an estimate and the girl in the office said they would not return the payment because it wasn't for an estimate?? AWS Mechanical did a great job both finding and fixing my leak in my upstairs bathroom. It was leaking into my kitchen cabinets and the water was running in different directions so it was hard to tell if it was the shower, sink or toilet that was causing the problem. They isolated the problem and then did a great job taking down my kitchen cabinets to get access to the pipe. Very happy I got my pipe fixed and didn't have to buy new cabinets. BEWARE THEY ARE RIP OFFS!!! When you call Turnabout an AWS truck shows up they must be new owners.I have used Turnabout for about 30yesrs and have always like them. They have sold and the new owners have a very different price range. I wanted 2 bathtubs and a bathroom sink snaked, they were draining slow.They wanted to charge me $1100 cash. Then when we said no way the serviceman wanted $159.00 for the estimate. Called another local plumber and the job cost $175. Beware of their prices unless your a millionaire!!!! read more

This is the second time we called AWS to help with two separate issues. The first issue was our new tankless heating and water system. Most companies did not have a person who could service the new systems. The technicians are so friendly and professional. His knowledge was really welcomed because he explained newer systems need parts ordered which could take a little longer versed having a part in stock. The service was great considering it was a last minute call and he came right away on time. The second issue was months later to just service our ductless system to get ready for the summer. He explained everything to us and tested our system was ready for the summer. We really had a great experience twice with AWS! read more

AWS made multiple mistakes in the installation of my HVAC unit. It was later discovered that they failed to update the coil which I paid for and was needed due to the change to the non--Freon AC. My system completely failed in 5 years requiring a total replacement. They also failed to honor the 10 year warranty. read more

stay away!! rip offs !! no empathy towards customers i bought in 2014 fujitsu ductless ac unit for $5000.00 the 1st week it didnt work, they came and reset unit. following month blew out again and they came and told me the unit got hit by lightning !!! i swear its true had to pay another $1800.00. every year since 2014 i had to pay approx $1500.00neach summer to get it to work!! and finally june 2018 they came again because didnt work charged me $1900.00 and in july blew again and now they told me need new unit for $5000.00. ok !! total investment with this co since 2014. for junk $10,000!! and still no ac in my home.how these guys still in business is beyond me read more

Giving AWS even one star is too much credit. AWS was hired when we renovated our home after hurricane sandy. We have spent more money repairing all the damage they created. Everything from our boiler that was brand new broke , leaks constantly under our sinks from drains they installed , leaks from the shower pan they installed into my kitchen- not to mention a fire that almost started from lint building up in my dryer that they installed. They damaged my dryer when they installed it and didn't care- right now I woke up and my house has NO heat! We have lived here for less than three years!!! Never had such a bad experience with a contractor! I wish I could just blame it on the carrier equipment but I have not been able to get a response from AWS one way or another. It's been a year and our $17,000 heat pump system still does not work as well as our 20 year old AC system used to work. Doesn't hold temperature better than 2 degrees EVER and its usually 4 degrees off (either hot or cold). They said it was a thermostat problem and were going to replace it under warranty but they never showed. Looking for another authorized Carrier dealer.... read more

I have used AWS twice and they did a good job, albeit the fact they didn't clean up after themselves. I had my boiler tuned up and the service man convinced me to purchase a service plan that would also provide me with a central AC tune up. Obviously the service tech got his information wrong because when I called to schedule an appointment I was told the service plan was for the heat or AC and not both. I explained that I was given the wrong information and would never have bought the plan otherwise. The manager of AWS didn't even apologize and didn't try to make amends. The person who came and gave an estimate mentioned that all existing pipes that going to the broiler and water heater would be replaced. This company is HORRIBLE. I called Turnabout when our toilet tank wasn't getting filled up because of a frozen pipe and the guys from AWS showed up. The problem was easy to diagnose (I even suspected it), and they changed the valve and told us to put a heater in the room to fix the problem. The pipes are in the exterior wall and could not be reached. Despite the heater being on all day, the problem wasn't fixed. The guys would not leave until we paid close to 400 DOLLARS. FOR WHAT? To fix the fill valve and diagnose a problem we already knew about? When I called the service manager Bobby to complain he said that that's standard pricing for them. He said they charge $300 an hour and since the guys stayed for close to 1.5 hours (doing nothing basically), they charge the amount they did. We have used Turnabout six months ago and it was solid, but the new management isn't nearly as competent or customer friendly. Their prices are ridiculously high. Now, they don't bill anymore and demand that you pay right away. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more

Use any air conditioning company other than this one. We had A/C work done in our home, not only was it faulty, but the customer service was awful. We found it hard to believe that anyone could be treated this way, let alone decent, paying customers. They must not care about their company or their reputation because they will certainly go out of business the way they are operating. Recently we came in contact with two other former customers of AWS, and they had similar experiences. In fact, one of them reported the company to the Better Business Bureau. We have not done that yet, but maybe it's a good idea. The worst part is, their customer service department seemed to take pleasure in lying and giving a run around to clients. I've had good and disappointing experiences with AWS over the years. A few years ago, my boiler broke down and flooded the house at 10 p.m. on a Saturday. AWS sent a plumber right over and fixed the problem and later replaced the boiler at a reasonable price. Great! Fast forward a few years and when I called AWS for an estimate for additional work, I was given an 11-1 appointment window. AT 1pm the day of my appointment, I got a call from the office that the estimator would arrive between 1 and 2. No Good! So I rescheduled for the following week for the same appointment window (11-1). At 12:30 I received a call that the estimator would be 1-1.5 hours late. WHAT??? If these guys can't arrive during the designated appointment time, how can I be sure that they'll fulfill their work in a timely/expected manner? I've given 3 stars because of my previous great experience with AWS, but I'm really disappointed in their ability to keep to appointment times. read more

This company fails to follow up. They try to scam you. I have had a contract for service for both my heating unit and a/c. They fail to send you our agreements and then when requested you are told you do not have one for your A/C. Despite the fact you had one in previous years.
