    Birthday dessert

Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff!! The executive chef came to our table and chatted for a bit and wished me a happy birthday. Also, I was given a complementary birthday dessert! Def will be back :)

My boyfriend and I had a mini getaway here over the weekend and found this place online. We made reservations here ONLY because we saw they had king crab legs with a loaded baked potato. Seeing how I absolutely love crab legs we just had to go here. We got there about 10min before our reservation, but they still seated us quickly. Our table was in the middle of the floor. We would have liked a booth as it was just the 2 of us at a 4 seated table, but it wasn't that important. We ordered some drinks. I had the "purple rain" and my boyfriend had a margarita. I noticed that our waiter did not card us for the drinks. The purple rain drink was delicious and my boyfriend liked his margarita. For $11.00 the drinks could have be a little more stronger. The bread they brought out to us was huge and just ok. Even the butter was blah. Could have been salted butter and they could have kept that nasty cinnamon butter. So now we are about to order those delicious king crab legs, only for the waiter to tell us they only do them on Tuesdays due to the cost. Huge disappointment because that's what we were there for. There is not alot on the menu to choose from so we had to settle for steak. I ordered my steak medium with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of sautéd shrimp. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium well (he wanted less pink) with garlic mashed potatoes and a loaded baked potato. The meal came with soup or salad and we both chose the Cajun chicken soup. The soup was delicious (we both thought so). After the soup was done we got our food. I noticed that my boyfriend steak was medium and not medium well. So I had to switch steaks with him because that was too red for his liking. The steaks were under seasoned. Like I literally tasted no seasoning. Both of our garlic mash was a little too salty and my boyfriend said his loaded potato was dry. The sauted shrimp were huge and good. I don't even eat green beans but they were good. Our bill came to about $99 and for that price we could have went to outback steakhouse.

After doing the ultimate tour at paisley park this morning we called and made reservations for lunch in Prince's booth, we got so lucky! Lisa was our waitress. We had the salmon and veggies, very tasty. I had the purple rain drink, it was very sweet but not much alcohol in it. We shared the Baileys. Chocolate cake, it was ok nothing great. It's an old school type restaurant playing Frank Sinatra music but cool vibe and nice customer service. Beet salad was good too! I was happy to sit in the booth where Prince used to eat all the time.

We were there in June and requested the highly recommended Prince booth. The service and food were great. We ordered the Purple Rain signature drinks. I had the steak dinner. Loved the relaxing music playing in the background. I can see why the greatest musical artist of all time loved that place. We will definitely be back when we visit Chanhassen next year. The manager was very nice and responsive as I made our reservations via email. He responded via email and again when I confirmed our reservations a few days before.

Ok so my fiance and I had dinner here just a lil while ago. I honestly was surprised at the excellent service we received and how quickly our waitress served up over the hour of dining. 5/5 for hospitality keep up the great work. We had the Chicken cajun soup which was damn tasty. We had the fish fry which they had too much grease on them and let's just say all the food on that plate may come back later. However the quality of the seafood was beyond my expectations and actually was very presentable and didnt taste that bad. I just break out easily from greasy foods but that's also what makes the food taste good. I will eat at axels again and re review another review for our next outing.

Slowly went downhill and then closed this location. Their website turned into a disaster. We have been going there for about 7 years.

So don't go in expecting that. However, they still hit the spot! I was a big big fan of the brisket taco. Juicy, flavorful, and filling! All the tacos come with a pretty substantial amount of protein. They have a lunch special where you buy 2 tacos and get your third one free, so my meal came out to be pretty affordable. Our server was great, I think his name was Miles? The restaurant itself was cute, with nice barstools and booths. I will say that when we went, the floor a few pools of liquid with caution signs up. Not sure if there was a leak or some spills, but nonetheless it didn't affect the ambiance too much. I heard they do an ice bar in the winter, so I'm looking forward to returning.

We started with the Texas Twinkie, and it was the standout of the meal. It's basically a jalapeño popper stuffed with brisket and topped with a sweet agave chili glaze that gives it a delicious sweet and spicy kick. I personally would have preferred a little less glaze, but it was still incredibly flavorful, and I'm honestly still thinking about it. Even though they're known as a tequila bar, don't sleep on the mocktails! I ordered the Hibiscus Cooler, and it was light, refreshing, and the perfect pairing for the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the mojo pork tacos. They were good, but I ended up adding some extra habanero hot sauce to give them more of a kick. I also appreciated that they have several hot sauce options available, including Cry Baby Craig's, Cholula, and habanero sauce. We couldn't decide between the brisket mac and cheese or the elote, so we ordered both to share. The elote had a strong lime flavor that overpowered it a bit for my taste. The brisket mac and cheese, however, was delicious. It could have used just a little more seasoning in our opinion, but it was loaded with generous portions of tender brisket and had the most satisfying cheese pull. My husband also really enjoyed his birria tacos. Overall, this was a great impromptu date night. Good food, refreshing drinks, excellent service, and plenty of parking. We'll definitely be back and next time, those Texas Twinkies are a must order!

The service at the bar was a bit slow at times there was two back there but the staff worked really hard at the end as the party went late and the staff was awesome cleaning up around us til the last minute so thanks for that!!! We went back today and while it was still good, definitely wasn't as good as it was last time. The jerk chicken plate removed the beans, changed the rice, and got rid of the sauce so it wasn't as good though it was a bit less dry than last time. They also removed the Ropa Vieja from the menu which was our favorite. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and was not impressed. The fries with it were good. The drinks were still great. Service was friendly but slow (drinks, food, and waitress all slow). Another in our party got the blackened salmon which was really good. Unfortunately, I was so nervous they would remove or change the menu to be worse, which is a common theme I've noticed with 4 different restaurants by these owners now, so I was so bummed to see that's exactly what happened. Such a cool vibe, great drinks, and a really cool new patio - but the food needs a bit of work - bring back the Ropa Vieja and the better jerk chicken!

Here's my review of the food we ordered: Cocktail of the hour - aka "Golden Hour" - 8.5/10 Reminded me of mulled cider, notes of honey, very refreshing Pork Belly Steam Buns - 8.1/10 Nice texture, very tender and flavorful Mini Banh Mi - 7/10 Not bad, would have preferred the more traditional pork filling Crispy Chicken- 8.7/10 This really surprised me, from appearance the chicken didn't look that special but it was well seasoned and the sweet chili glaze really stole the show and elevated this dish! Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.
