We eat there often, but today my order was wrong as I ordered a medium well hamburger patty. When delivered with my salad, there was a pool of blood coming from the very rare hamburger! The waitress was apologetic and I had lost my appetite for hamburger and changed my order to a turkey sandwich. It took a long time to get my sandwich and my salad was finished by the time the sandwich arrived. Because we are such good customers as we eat there at least once a week, we were disappointed we had a poor experience and not offered any amenities such as one free meal. We left disappointed and decided we will not be back as our long time support didn't count when they bungled the menu. Right in downtown Wayzata, I really appreciate the parking lot is right in front of the Muni! It's not as high-end as some of the other spots in downtown Wayzata, but I really enjoy that about this spot. The food is a lot more affordable, the staff is so nice, and no issues with finding seating. The food is pretty good - nothing amazing, but I didn't expect it to be. First, the ambiance is kind of dark and depressing and we were there in the afternoon. Ordered a vodka grapefruit juice which tasted like watered down grapefruit juice. When i suggested to the bartender I couldn't taste any vodka he said maybe that is a good thing. What? Then he went on to say I won't get a pour there like I would make at home. What? For $10 I damn well better. We shared a burger which was just okay and cost just as much as a NICE establishment. I can overlook an average burger but not a snotty bartender. I always really like coming to here, and I think they have my favorite restaurant burger! There were a couple of mistakes, like when I asked for ice water but got water without ice, and I wanted pink in my burger but I feel it's much more well done. However! I'm sure they would have fixed the issues if I asked, but I had no need. The water was still cold enough and I still very much enjoyed the burger. Also the fries are always really good! I used to have their "muni sliders" which don't exist anymore, and they also have really good chicken wings. I've had their ribs before as well. I don't think I have been disappointed once! Came to watch the Vikings game along with a few other groups of people and never was there given a last call. We were immediately kicked out after the game with no warning, told them we ordered and Uber and were told we had to wait outside in the cold by ourselves as two women. The hostess on weekend afternoons is rather rude, no questions asked about seating preferences and dumps the menus on a table and walks away. Bad bartender experience-She got extremely livid when we asked if we could order a signature drink. We were told no because it was a busy night though we were offered the drink list menu so we asked. When our server asked if she would make a cocktail, she started yelling (we could hear her from our table) demanding we be kicked out-just for asking a question. Local watering hole with attached liquor store. Large menu with apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. There is a parking lot attached and a parking deck as well. We tried the chili, walleye sandwich and the Reuben sandwich. Portions are huge! Not particularly memorable but a lot to eat. All sandwiches come with chips and you can add fries for $1. They have a great craft beer list on tap. There were at least 6 different local brews on tap and all $6.50 a pint. And free popcorn! Service here is very friendly and helpful. We really like this spot. Nothing outstanding, but it's been consistent and everything we have had has been good. It's your basic bar with good food and at a good price- especially for being in Wayzata. We've always sat at the bar and service has been fine. The food comes out in good time and the beer is cold. We've had the gyro platter, the nachos, the poke bowl, and the tuna melt. We're from hawai'i so we're tough critics to poke bowls so we won't comment on that but it was better than we've had a most places. The nachos are our favorite so far. The chicken and cheese are thoughtfully put on each individual chip and every bite is delicious with the other sides in the middle for you to dress as you like it. Yum. read more

A consistently solid tavern experience. Service has always been good. Beer selection is reasonable, but could definitely be more extensive. Food is good for lunch, but probably wouldn't recommend for a nice dinner. Some of my favorites include the Shaved Prime Sandwich and Roasted Pepper Wrap. What a fun place! Live music is what drew us here! Met up with college besties and spouses. It was great energy and we could talk and reminisce about the past while enjoying cocktails. Terrible service. Server didn't come back to check if we had everything we needed until after we were done eating our meal. And no ...we did not have everything. Chipotle mayo requested on the side was not served. That made for fish tacos without much flavor. Secondly we waited over 30 minutes after we were done eating to get our tab closed out. Not ok. I love the Muni... Oh ya it's now the "Wayzata Bar & Grill" but who's kidding who it's still the good old Muni just dressed up a little. It is where you go to see all the regulars... I ordered a medium rare steak on the evening special menu ($16). What I received was the worst cut and quality steak I have ever had in my life and it was not medium rare. The server never came over to ask how the meal was. I ended up eating most of it before I could flag her down and tell her that this steak was not cooked as I requested. She agreed. It's hard not to give this place a 5 star because for what it aspires to be, it nails it. This is not your pretentious Wayzata upscale yacht club restaurant. It's the equivalent of Excelsior's Haskell's bar, but better. It's a great family place, a great boozers place and a great just meet some friends place. It has a popcorn machine and is very casual but it has solid food. The nachos plate sounds is a perfect example of why they are better. It's not a pile of volcanic goo, it's a thoughtfully prepared, easily shareable dish with individual oversized chips with heaps of cheese on each - genius! All the plates are good. I spent part of a Sunday afternoon exploring the Wayzata/Minnetonka area and wanted to check out one of the more popular restaurants in the area. McCormick's was my choice and I was afraid my initial impression was an indication of what was to follow. Unfortunately the hostess, A.) Found it impossible to crack a smile or engage in a positive conversation with anyone but a favored "local," B.) Continuously walked 20 feet ahead of diners leaving them in her wake to catch up and C.) Was argumentative with at least 2 parties who requested a setting different from where she had placed them. Though it seemed from the pace of the wait staff (they appeared to be "rushed" despite the restaurant being less than 3/4 full) might have been understaffed, the demeanor and presentation of the hostess was 180 degrees opposite from my server who was friendly, efficient and interested throughout my meal. The restaurant is a great looking place with a number of TVs, nice furnishings and overall a pleasant atmosphere. I found the restaurant (and restroom by the way) to be clean while the restaurant and bar areas were spacious...plenty of room at tables and the bar area for singles, couples and larger parties. The menu is relatively broad and I'd think almost anyone can find something to enjoy. I was in a "deli" mood and went for the Reuben sandwich w/ kettle chips (see photo) along with a cup of wild rice soup. The soup arrived very hot, tasty and full of good ingredients. The sandwich was also fine and, when combined with the cup of soup, was too much to enjoy but worked fine for lunch the next day. With the one obvious exception the experience was a good one but based on her interactions with me and others, the experience was limited to a "3-Star" experience. I'll probably go back but also want to try some of the other options in town. Give it a try but I recommend you do your best to seat yourself read more
