My family have often visited this restaurant and the food has been authentic, fresh, beautifully presented and delicious but sadly the takeout last night was SO salty, we had to discard much of it. So glad I tried this place! I thought it would be another ho hum Mexican restaurant but it was much better quality than most. I had the shrimp tacos, which were grilled to perfection. They were served with rice, bean sides as well as salsa and cabbage to garnish the tacos. When I asked if they had a spicier salsa she brought me a super hot habanero salsa. This place is really good! Quick service! Way better than casa del sazon (the food there is salty, n trust me I have been to casa more than 3 times)This food actually has flavor! The flour tortillas are good they taste homemade, omg the veggie burrito is a must also the ay caramba fries!! Looks very nice inside. Horrible service. 45 minutes after we ordered our appetizer still hadn't arrived. How long does it take to make nachos? Nearly empty restaurant and still bad service. Server came over saying "it's still going to be a few minutes, is that ok?" Also, looked confused when we asked how long until the nachos come out? Not sure if they ever started them. DELICIOUS! Absolutely yummy!!! All the food is FRESH, the tortillas are handmade in the kitchen, the sauces and chips are All made fresh. You won't be disappointed if you have a meal here. The employees are friendly the restaurant decor is beautifully done with even a bar to sit at if you are alone. As we sat there waiting for our meals we saw so many beautiful dishes roll out of the kitchen to be delivered to the other guests and "WOW", I can't wait to try what we saw. So, go now! Go get a great meal. Your taste buds will thank you!!!! FYI, if your meal comes with rice and beans, they are endless, just ask if the waitress/waiter doesn't ask first. As far as the prices missing on the menu, it was the printer who made the mistake. I know this because we were talking to the waitresses about the food and the missing prices. Tried this new place last night, 5 stars all around. When we walked up to the restaurant Ana opened the door and greeted us, sat us and served us. She was awesome, did it all and had a smile the whole time. She gave great recommendations for food, food did not disappoint, very flavorful and delicious! Homemade tortillas were A+. We ordered dessert, the churro were outstanding, by far one of the best desserts we've ever had. Presentation was on point as well. Go to Ay Caramba you won't be disappointed! To be honest. The presentation of the food is amazing. The taste and quality is different. The tastes blend into one another. In no way is this "real" mexican food but a fancy chipotle. This is my favorite place to eat, went in on Christmas Eve and ordered some Ay Caramba fries with tri tip. Food was great and so was the bartender who took my order that day, I believe her name was April. Decided to give this place a try last week. Reason for the week later review is I wanted to ask friends and other people what they thought. From what I heard they got the same experience as me. First off the waitress was super obnoxious and fake. You could tell she wasn't genuinely there cause she likes the job. I personally watched her roll her eyes and walk around with a face of total disgust and "I don't give a f***" attitude. Definitely wouldn't want someone like that representing my restaurant. Now the food was just sad for people that claim this is "Real Mexican Food" your paying for an over priced plate with nothing special, small portions, and seems they don't know how to cook meat to order. To top it off there was some hair in my food, which I know for a "FACT" came from the waitress cause her hair was all over the place, looking like she hadn't showered in days or personally takes care of her self. Definitely won't be going back and if the owners see this fire that girl before she makes you guys look even worse then you are. People like her need to learn how to respect other people's things. So just happened to look at my yelp and had 3 notifications all from Ay Caramba co-workers...April I hope you loose your job and learn to respect other people and property. Although many have given this place bad reviews. I have a complete opposite experience. I'm a local prunedale resident, who of course was very excited that there was a new restaurant, who decided to come try this place out. To start I didn't sit, I ordered to go, and then walked back out. My first impressions were good, the place is modern, fun, comfortable. I ordered a Carne Asada Super burrito and left. Yet as I ate my food, I thought it was actually very good. Literally no complaints. The salsa was great, the meat was seasoned well, and they didn't hold back on the guacamole. I just decided to write a review because of how annoying the reviews were. Has anyone heard of the term Hasty Generalization? When people say that the "Food is tasteless" that is just a terrible statement. Have you actually tried all of the food? From one experience, I can assume not. Give the place a chance, get something that is standard, and I'm sure you'll be pleased. read more

Ay Carumba's slogan on their staff's tshirts is that they serve "real Mexican food". If that's the case, then I think I've been lied to all my life. What I'm trying to say is....better Mexican food can be found if you drive 10 minutes south into Salinas. My family came in tonight to try out a new place. We honestly always wish any new restaurants in town good business and success. We got seated immediately at a table. However, the table was for 4 when we're a party of 6. Service took over 10 minutes to acknowledge us and get us menus/chips and salsa/water. There was not a lack of staff either. I counted at least 5 people working the floor, which is plenty for the ratio of staff to tables. When we got our food, rice and beans were served in the smallest ramekins I have ever seen. SERIOUSLY. Meat was over salted (I ordered barbacoa sopes). And at the end of our meal, the waitress knocked my glass of water all over me and my dinner. It probably helped out the over salty factor to my meal. I will say that they discounted our check for the mishap. I'll give them credit for that. But overall, I would skip out and take my Mexican food craving elsewhere. read more
