You thought Walmart lines were bad, this place takes the cake! I wish I ate before coming here now. The information desk people are so rude and short it makes you not want to stay! The amount of people waiting is worse than Black Friday and you don't even get anything in the end except for new plates! La da dee da! Just moved here so I couldn't do anything online, and had to come in person. At least next year I can renew online or through mail! We are on trip number 3 to this MVD because they keep "losing" my boyfriend's brother's information. The first time he got his license, they messed his apartment address up, and refused to fix it. After going back and finally getting someone who would fix it, we were charged $13.00 to set his new mailing address as my house (understandable bc protocol, but the lady was unbelievably rude and had a MEAN attitude). Finally on this third trip, we haven't received his license yet in the mail, it expired a week ago, and the MVD is telling us that they "destroyed his information" because someone screwed with it. Now we've been here well over an hour (again!) having to completely redo everything. Please, don't waste your time with coming here, the employees are rude, and clearly don't understand how to fix simple issues such as an address change. read more

What a distaster this trip was. First, the AZ MVD website did not show that MVD was by appointment only so I drove down there. I waited for 30 minutes in an outdoor line in the 110 degree heat to find out when I finally reached the entrance door that the young employee told me it was by appointment only and pointed to her sign which was inside the threshold. She handed me a piece of paper with the number to call for an appointment. I asked this young employee where her mask was and she claimed it was too hot to wear and she was at least getting some a/c where she was, what about all of those in the long line at 110 degrees? Next, I suggested she take her sign and put it outside where it can be seen by the people in line. If the sign was outside, I would have seen it and not waited in line. What is wrong with these people? Is common sense not available to everyone? This is what my taxes help pay for whether we have a virus or not, we still need services such as MVD and they need some sharp planners to think through the best way to handle their services. spent 90 minutes waiting in line to get a new title for my truck. Had two staff members waiting on people who had reservations. The ten people ahead of me did not move as only one staff member was servicing them. Each time I thought the line would move, a staff member would call out a reserved number. Standing in line is ridiculous this day and age. Why not take a number be seated and at least make the experience less painful. Decided that I should probably get my Arizona license since I moved here almost a year ago, so I stopped by on a weekday afternoon around lunch. Licensing was down (first day of the government shut down. Not sure if this was one of the things affected or if it was coincidental). Everyone was polite and efficient. This place is always kept clean and with the volume in daily foot traffic that's not a small task. I've never had a bad experience here. It make take longer at peak times but everyone is helpful and they try to keep cases turning over at a decent rate. I never feel rushed and that's one thing I really appreciate. read more

After reading a number of these reviews, I am so glad to report that I did not go to the location on Juanita or any other of the government run locations. I went directly across the street on Juanita next to Sally's Beauty where there is a third party location. The service was A-1 and all information was taken with a smile and "thank you"! The wait was non-existent that day. I had been there before and had to wait 5 minutes! AND they gave me a tip that would save me money! Wow! I recommend this to people who don't mind paying a few extra dollars for their service and for your valuable time to get your service done. There are limits to what they can do, so check them out! read more

First time I went into dmv it was a delight and well oiled machine. My license went very smooth to change from another state. I went back to switch my registration over and had Janita help me with this process, she was so rude and unfriendly as she spoke to me like a child with a snarky attitude. Highly suggest waiting for all other friendly people that work there to help you. read more

I am not proud to be the duchess of the AZ MVD. I didn't want to be here today but I have to get a level 2 inspection. Apparently, Ky will not accept the level 1 because it is not performed by officer of the law. I blame Ky for this. However, I had to come here. I had to take a day off to do it, and now they tell me they are legally prohibited from filling out another state's paperwork. WTF? (They don't bother to mention this on their website, BTW). Ok. They tell me to check with the local PD to get it done. I already checked with Scottsdale PD, they're the ones that sent me to the MVD. I would definitely advise against buying a car in Az if you live out of state. At this point, I'd say screw this and take the car back to the dealership if I could. If I could give them a negative score I would. I waited over 2 1/2 Flipping hours to be told they couldn't do anything. When you first walk in you check in at the front counter- the lady at the front checked to make sure I had the necessary documents for me to renew. When my number was finally called ( granted they called other people that were signed in after me before me) ... I was told I didn't and there's nothing she can do about it. If I could give this place a negative star I would. I live in MA and somehow my name pinned to a ticket of another person. This made me loose my license and in turn made me have to hire an attorney proving wrongful identity. At the court in Mesa AZ It was proven to be wrongful identity and still the AZ MVD refused to drop the reinstatement fee forcing me to pay to it. So not only did it cost $1200 to hire an attorney but then cost an addition $10 for something I had no part in. Get your shit together Arizona and stop pinning ticket on innocent people. You cause so much pain and suffering for families to make a few bucks. That money could have been used for my rent or groceries for my family and instead I lost so much do to your careless mistakes. I just moved to Arizona form California. So I needed a new drivers license. I waited one hour (which is nothing compared to the 4+ hours back in California). During the hour I went to the front desk and the lady was amazing, I went to get my photo taken and the man was nice. The next line is where my wait started. After waiting some time I get to window 11 and a lady named "Nancy" had the worst attitude! I didn't wait in this line to get trashy service. She kept throwing my paper work at me and giving the side eye to me and my fiancé. She kept rolling her eyes and didn't have clear communication with us. All in all, it was bad service. This government office gets an F for being handicap accessible. The parking does not provide enough van spaces. Several able-bodied people were parking in the available spots with no placard. The ramp was too steep and the door had no way to open automatically. Still waiting in the initial check-in line, so perhaps the verdict on the rest of their services will be different. read more

Not only were they misinformed but they were rude right at the start with their initial greeting. This place is worse than the IRS, at least the IRS admits when they made a mistake. But these arrogant workers will be caught dead before they hear themselves say "sorry for the inconvenience" or "we made a mistake". They gave me different information on two consecutive visits that I made, then Dorrie, some lady who obviously should not have been working that day because she was coughing phlegm all over my documents, then after she asked me to wait by the counter for 10 minutes while their system updated. I waited, 1 hour and 30 minutes later I finally went to the information counter and asked for Dorrie... I was told that she had gone to lunch 15 minutes ago and was told to go talk to another lady. She just dismissed me and I went to go talk to the new lady, who was also extremely rude and kept rolling her eyes and interrupting me before I could finish my sentences. Basically i spent total of 3 and a half hours waiting and getting attitude and nothing was resolved because of their mis information and Dorries idiot customer service ethics and the last ladys pride.. not one person resolved anything and they all were too proud to say "we apologize for the inconvenice". I recommend this place if you wanna be late to work 2 or more hours and having your mild mannered patience tested to the maximum. read more

I've gotta say this location could use a little bit of customer service skills building courses. i know you work for the govt (us) but I'm pretty sure your not making the peanuts most of the people outside this building are making working way harder. The overall attitude of this place is dreary. Thanks to Mesa (javelina office) having technical difficulties with their driver's license printers I had to come here for it instead. They put it in the computer but of course no one here knows anything about the other branch having any issues so you have to pretty much start all over. I was so glad to get my driver's license after an hour wait so I could go to my car and weep over the loss of an hour of my existence I'll never get back and probably wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night from having these memories of being stuck in this black hole. Went to renew my license & after figuring out which line I needed to be in filled out a form then within a couple of minutes got my picture taken. Very pleasant young lady I might add. She then sent me to a another line which was pretty long. After about 15 minutes of slowly moving up I was getting very warm. This young lady from one of the customer windows "#13"- (Nancy was her name) got up from her seat, apparently realized I was warm & fanning myself & she came & took us out of the line, to her window. Nancy was very pleasant, & professional, & got us out of there in just a few minutes! Now I'm sure the other customer service agents are very nice, but we were very lucky to get Nancy! MVD would be in great shape if they could clone Nancy! Anyway, I do have one suggestion for MVD for renewing your license. This should have their own line. Should be able to get in & out of their quicker just to fill out a form, take the eye test, get your license & pay your fee. Just sayin... read more

I just got married and need to change my license to fit my new last name. Called the service desk and they were so helpful telling me I needed to bring in my new SS card and license. I go to the DMV and the RUDEST lady approaches me asking what I needed. I tell her and she immediately tells me that I need my marriage certificate which is fine, but that was not what I was told over the phone. She was incredibly abrasive and incredibly rude. I've never felt like I needed to write a review for anything, but this lady makes me never want to go back to this DMV.I came in on 2/27/19 at around 2 pm or so. She needs to be trained in better customer service and learn how to speak to people. You can tell she hates her job. She even yelled a ladies name that was working at the customer service desk multiple times instead of approaching her desk in front of all the customers. This place needs a friendlier face to welcome people in to their business. Absolutely disgusted with this person. read more

I have been here for several transactions, mostly dealing with the cdl side and inspections in the back with the officers. Almost all individuals working these areas are very nice, helpful and efficient. All but ONE of the officers performing the inspections. I will not mention his name but I'm pretty sure that anyone who goes here often is familiar with this individual.He takes at least DOUBLE the time to perform any of his duties as all the others and it seems is always out to try to cause havoc to any individual that he can, nit-picking at everything and half the time he's wrong and ends up wasting time and money. Their time and ours, resulting in money all the way around. I'm not sure what his motive or strategy is, but it's sad to see and hear this employee do this on a constant basis. You'd think there was a supervisor or something who could check on these officers' efficiency especially when there is always such a large volume of individuals/CUSTOMERS (because we do PAY for these services), you'd think the goal here would be to be efficient. :/ read more
