The owner refused to tow our car and made us get a private tow. After telling us the car was under warranty, the owner requested money from us stating that the issue wasn't what crapped out, and blamed the car breaking down on some other "problem". After reluctantly paying we got our car back. Fast forward a month later and the car completely breaks down a second time. The owner once again refused to pick up the car causing us to pay for another private tow. We were reluctant to return the car to them but the transmission should be under warranty right? WRONG! We get told the car has a "problem". The car has been in the shop for almost a month now with no progress or work being done. Every time you call they are unable to give updates and the answer is call back later and speak to the owner. Over and over again. Call back later and speak to the owner. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! Car still has a "problem" but no one will tell you what the problem is. Workers are rude and nasty on the phone and hang up on you. Everyday it's another story, your cars not ready...call back tomorrow. To make matters worse they are REQUESTING MORE MONEY FROM US EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. This business is trying to rip off the customers and has the worst customer service. We will never go back or recommend this business to anyone! STAY AWAY!!!! OR ELSE YOUR CAR MIGHT HAVE A "PROBLEM"!!!

Chatgpt tells me its most likely a leak and I saw a puddle under the car before I towed it. Ian, the manager, calls me and tells me the transmission needs to be rebuilt and the fluid is fill. Cost:$3900 - $4900. Something felt off because I literally saw the puddle of fluid and I towed to another shop (Sal Transmission on Stillwell). Turns out it was just a leak. Sal sealed it and topped it off. Cost: $235 Dolphin tried to take me for $4500 so this review for anybody considering going here. Beware!

They brought it to Dolphin transmissions for this reason and told them about both things. After 2 days of waiting, they get a call back saying the car is ready. Once they arrive they were prompted to pay $600 for the "service" they did on the car. Once the $600 was paid, they told them they parked the car over 5 blocks away and they had to go and retrieve the car. Once my parents got back to the Toyota and started it up, all the same things that they brought the car in for were still coming up on the dashboard and the tire was even flatter. They went back to Dolphin Transmissions to get an explanation as to why everything was the same exact way they dropped off the car and all the owner replied with was that "there was a clanking sound and we fixed the sound, no one told us about the maintenance required." When you turn on the car on every screen it says maintenance required so why else would they be bringing the car to you? My parents said this to them and they just replied with "no one told us about it, but it's saying that because it needs an oil change and we can do it for you for an extra $150." So then they said "what about the flat tire? Do I have to tell you to fix that too?" They were left speechless. My parents left and a day later Dolphin transmissions called them back promising to fix everything for free. What a joke. My parents are older folks who were clearly taken advantage of, had I known their car needed service I would have brought it to my guy to get it fixed same day. Stay Away !

My mechanic who is a family friend told me that my car's engine and transmission had been leaking…read moreoil and it was a matter of time before it was going to fail on me. It was due to old age (239000 miles). Too bad he doesnt do engine swaps. Fortunately, I have a coworker who has a husband that owns a shop and was told that he just recently swap a engine with a low mileage jdm motor. Chris called me that same night and we went over the details on the work that needed to be done on the car. He was very informative and he went step by step with me about the engine swapping process. He even told me that he would pick up the engine and transmission in NJ for a cheap fee. I decided that Chris was the right guy for the job and told him that I would give him the car in three weeks to work on. When I arrived at the shop, I told Chris that I had other issues with the car. He told me that he will look into it but his main focus was to replace the motor and transmission first. During the time he was working on my car, he kept in constant contact with me. He would let me know what he was doing and if there was something that needed to be replaced, he would call me first for permission before buying the replacement part. Chris also sent me picture and videos while my car was being worked on. One of other issues that I had address to Chris was that my heater was only give me luke warm air at best. I had thought that my heater core was clogged and that it needed to be replaced. Turns out, Chris found that it was just my heater control valve that was broken and prevented the coolant to go into my heater core. For people that dont know about heater cores, it would cost 800 to 1500 dollars for the heater core to be replaced. By finding out that it was just the heater control valve, Chris saved me a boat load of money. About a week and half later, Chris finally finished the job and he delivered my car in front of the house. He even gave my car a wash and even detailed my car. I test drove the car with Chris sitting on the passenger side and was surprised how much power I had on the new engine. Transmssion was shifting flawlessly. Chris also installed a dedicated transmission oil cooler and filter to prolong the life of the transmission. I had told Chris that day he delivered my car that I was going on a trip to upstate for the memorial day weekend. He told me that if I have any issues to call him immediately. I didn't have to call him because my car worked perfectly. In fact, Chris texted me asking how my car was doing and I forgot to text him back. (Sorry Chris). I highly recommend Chris to anyone. Not only that he does excellent work, he genuinely cares about his customers. Other than my family friend, Chris would be the only one I would trust my car with. Thank you Chris!!!

There was absolutely no sales double talk, she was consistent throughout the entire buying process, and it was a same day purchase. She had everything moving rapidly, she worked very hard to earn these 5 stars, for sure. A great young lady with the most excellent personality unlike any car salesperson I've met before, and I've bought a lot of cars in the last 50 years. Her patience was above and beyond. Let me add that unlike others in this business, she knew her products. I couldn't stump her, not that I was trying, but she satisfied all of our concerns. To finalize our deal, she called on her manager Brandon. Now there's quite a gentleman. There was none of that "where would you like to be at monthly", or "what works best for you?". There was no script. He did something most managers in dealerships never do, he listened to us, and just a few minutes later, we made a deal. Shocking, I know. This dealership has a great model, a model that other dealerships could learn a lot from and most especially, treating clients with concern, and respect and giving them 100% of their attention when they are speaking with you. At the end it was time to meet the "devil", the finance manager! Well, once again, we were surprised. Kazim, like Brandon and Gabriella was friendly and got our paperwork done with no gimmicks, hidden fees, or any other games finance plays when you sit down. The process was seamless. Of course, he recommended something I would advise anyone to add to their purchase, and that's tire and wheel protection, unfortunately I declined because I hadn't used it on my last purchase, in hindsight, maybe I should have taken it. But again, there was no pressure sales from Kazim, no pushing, just good advice. I have to say that we were very happy with the price we were given, it was more than fair, but it is not the only reason that I would return to this dealership, it was just part of the entire package. DON'T GO TO ACURA OF BAY SHORE!!!!…read more Customer Service is very poor in the service departmen at Acura of Bay Shore . When I asked to speak to a manager, because of a couple of ongoing problems with my vehicle, I was taken to the manager's office. The manger stood up with hands on his hips and was rude with an instant attitude. He was a very big tall man and tried to intimidate me with his stature. . Nothing was resolved. Till this day I'm still having the same issues with my vehicle: 1LOUD NOISE IN FRONT OF CAR 2. CANNOT CONNECT DEVICE TO PLAY MUSIC 3. EVERYDAY OR EVERY OTHER DAY TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW. Acura told me my rotors needed to be replaced. (They said this after I took my vehicle there several times) for the same noise. The first time I told Acura of Bayshore about the issue, they claimed they did not hear anything. Now all of a sudden it's my rotors. I went to another dealer and an outside mechanic and both said nothing was wrong with brakes tires or rotors. Acura of Bayshore have been running me around for almost a year and they're -not even trying to fix the loud noise that's coming from my car or any other issues pertaining to my SUV. I still have my warranty and they are not honoring it. Acura of Bay Shore appears to be very shady and unprofessional, and I still need my vehicle fixed. I purchased my car there almost a year ago and they think they can tell me anything and send me on my way. I spent money on tire warranty and warranties for my vehicle. I'm not sure if that's something he does for everyone or if he did that because his friend was the one paying, but it was kind nonetheless. This year, my car was having new problems and I decided to take it to Han again because I was very pleased with his work last time. He's very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about auto repair, but the price he charged me for labor was super steep. I wound up going to Ray Auto Repair in North Haledon who charged me a whole $100 less for a very thorough job. However, he's a close friend of my boyfriend's dad, so that's probably the reason why it was so cheap. I wonder if Ray would've charged the same price as Han had I not had connections, but I never got around to asking. BOTTOM LINE: BE BESTIES WITH A MECHANIC.
