My Volvo was hit while parked and we brought our car into South Shore Collision. It was the 1st time we have used them. Geico recommended them and they were amazing to deal with. Our experience, start to finish was awesome. They saw damage that we hadn't even realized had happened to our rim. The car was fixed perfectly (and I'm a stickler). We own our cars so I want the best job done, and we were not disappointed. As far as communication, we have never had a situation before where we weren't calling the shop for updates. This shop went above and beyond, sending texts constantly to keep us updated. And the people there, they couldn't be nicer to deal with. This is definitely our new go to (hopefully not often!) My husband already brought our Acura there to fix a few small things. They treated him just as professionally as when we went in for the other job. And they are very fair with their pricing. "THE BEST THE BEST". Being a father of a large family I have visited many body shops on Long Island .Some good experiences and some bad. South Shore auto body is the most amazing and most professional body shop I have ever gone to. My BMW was towed there after being involved in an accident Jared and his staff took care of everything they gave me a rental I was in and out of there in less than an hour. The BMW was being repaired with daily reports on the progress. The reports gave me an estimated day of completion and it was done on the day they said.. Edit: Had a wobble in the rear, it was an issue with the sway bar, they fixed it, and now the car is back to normal! Been in here twice, both times I dealt with Zach, service was impeccable and they pay great attention to detail. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but for what you pay you get back in terms of service and quality of work. 1st time: insurance claim, Geico set me up here and I was really pleased with the quality of the work and the communication the entire time my car was in the shop. They were late by a few days, because of a headlight programming issue, but I had a rental so I was covered. They really took care of everything, can't tell the car has been in an accident at all. 2nd time: my fault, hit a curb sideways and needed rear suspension work and alignment. Most insurance shops treat you like crap if you're not going through insurance but not Zach, not Tom. They worked with me and sourced parts economically, and when I was done everything works and feels great with the car. They stand behind their name and their work. read more

I just moved to Long Beach and when my car was hit in the parking lot I really didn't know where to go but Geico had sent me here. I have never been to a nicer auto body shop. They are incredibly sweet and accommodating. They go above and beyond and keep you updated with the status of your vehicle with text messages. I was greeted with smiling faces and even asked if I wanted a water. Being young I assumed they were going to push me around a bit but they were absolutely wonderful. Yelp should make 0 stars an option Morally challenged owner Jared Lanning has no conscience, or the intelligence to run a local business Got towed to this business after stalling in water and the lying tow driver from All County refused to take me to the dealer! Immediately insurance papers were shoved in my face. My car is a 2016 BMW leased and i was concerned since this business is an autobody shop and i didn't have ANY BODY DAMAGE. I spoke to my dealer and i was advised to bring it there. Mr Lanning charged me $150 to write an estimate which is what is pictured below, he charged me 4 times for one diagnostic test on an invoice that after getting the phone number rang to South Shore Collision, he charged me double for storage and an additional charge for the yard. He added $90 for a tow? Yes he got that creative, my tow-driver got there, my car was parked and easily accessible but we were told to park on long beach road in the left lane and he was bringing the car out. After 30 mins Mr Lanning came to the truck told my driver to go to the back and told me to wait inside, we went to the back and this so called business owner ran inside never offered to refund my money!! One last thing after i paid this ridiculous bill that i did not feel comfortable challenging with Mr Lanning due to feeling threatened, i was denied the key to MY CAR twice ! ! Was told they would give it to the tow driver.. funny as far as i know i own the car!!! Shame on South Shore Collision the owner and everyone who supports and work there!! So unfortunately i was t boned and i brought my car back to south shore. The entire side of my car was smashed in. They fixed it in a month. Looks good and they told be to bring it back for anything. Still have overspray on the mirror but i will bring it up to them again. One of my new doors needs a bit too much force to close but they were very nice and said to bring it back anytime. Until the 77 year old man realized how much auto body work can cost... especially on newer vehicles that have sensors and a lot of parts older vehicles don't have. South shore was easy to work with. i had my car repaired in this facility. i had wanted to go to the dealer since the car was only a month old. The insurance company pressured me to go to this facility since it was recommended by them as well as other major companies. I went to pick the vehicle up one evening only to have to go back the next day to have the repaired part buffed out. This should have been done before the vehicle was delivered, after this was done I left. The next day it appeared to me that there was a coating on the windshield that I could not remove. It appeared to be some kind of overspray that also appeared to be on most of the car body also. Now remember that the auto is only a month old so it is very frustrating to have thjis happen. I went back to the facility to get the coating off the windshield only to have them use some abrasive pad to remove the coating, this lead to small noticable scratches all over the windshield. When I called the insurance company to complain about all this, they said they would replace the windshield, didnt want to do this since the car was brand new, so now I have to live with the mess. PS the original body fix was ok, just the aftermath was uncalled for. Maybe they are to small to do all the nsurance work they get. read more

I just purchased a new vehicle after losing my old car due to Hurricane Sandy. My brand new Jeep barely had 1000 miles on it when i found a dent on my hood (golf ball hit my car). Needless to say, I was devastated being that this was the first car I ever purchased on my own. I decided to take it to South Shore to get an estimate on how much it would cost to repair the dent. Joe was so helpful - gave me a very fair estimate - and told me that he would call one of his dent guys to come in and they would try their best to get the dent out. My friend had an accident with her car never called this company to come out but some how they came ok my friend went to the hospital after she found out (in less than 24 hours )where her car was located she goes to find out how much it cost to bring the car back to Brooklyn where she is from first the man says 370 or something like that but they only open from pick ups at certain times then they say since she's not doing the work there it will cost her almost 800 to get her car adding so many other fees I was shocked , my message to people if you get in a accident and you in one piece just call AAA it's cheaper so my friend had to use the insurance company to cover whatever cost but I'm sure they didn't get the outrageous amount they was talking about but her car is now in Brooklyn getting fixed by someone she trust . One weeks turned into 2.5 weeks which cost me dearly given that I did not have rental coverage (my fault I know). I wish I could give this place ZERO stars!!!! Please do not take your car here, not even your bicycle!!!!! I had my car taken here after a minor accident since my car insurance agent worked out of this location. After finally receiving my car and barely driving it for a few weeks after the repair, I began to notice a few weird noises but just thought it was due to the cold weather. Then one morning after starting my car to warm it up I was surprised when I went outside only to notice my car turned off but warm inside. Knowing that it must of been on for at least a little while, I tried restarting it. After many attempts nothing would turn on. I finally called south shore collision and had them come to my house to see what was wrong. Once they arrived I found out that they never fully reattached my battery after the initial repair!!! My car could have turned off at any point and caused another accident or worse and killed me!!! I had them bring it back to the garage to assure me that everything else was properly attached and reconnected properly. After five minutes of someone looking at it, they swore everything looked great. The next week I took my car to a family friend who is a mechanic for a major nationwide delivery service. As soon as he looked at my car he went silent and said this car had major issues. The entire side of the car that was involved in a minor accident was covered in transmission Oil from a major leak. Not only was every part of my engine covered in oil, all the major tubes where held back by wire which was burning/digging through the tubing! My car was a ticking time bomb unless I had an actual intelligent mechanical trained eye look at it! Please do yourself a favor and do not jeopardize your safety by taking your car to South Shore Collision! This is the worst place I have ever experienced I my life!!!! read more

They are a bunch of crooks!! I was rear ended and the insurance company gave an estimate to me. The entire time south shore had my car I received text updates on how much it would cost. When the car was ready to be picked up I was told that I owed the the exact amount that I received from the insurance company. I asked them why since they final text I received from them was $700 less. The guy gave me some song and dance that it wasn't updated and that the final parts and labor weren't updated on that. So I asked him for a copy of the bill. He said sure no problem. So I stood there for 5 minutes and watched him as he changed everything on his end. Then I went back to the text message that they sent me and everything was updated now!! So the new bill was the exact same amount as the insurance company's estimate!! Isn't that amazing how the insurance company knew exactly to the penny how much my car would cost to fix!! read more
