Got the blueberry cheesecake chimney cake for $9.27 was pretty good overall. Good flavor blueberry mix was just from a can and cheesecake mix was ok. Interesting texture on the cone. Was not excepting it to be crispy for some reason. But kind of took a while and was too expensive for how small it was. Overall I would try it again sometime but wish it was a little cheaper. read more

I've been to az chimney cakes a few times and it's consistently tasty. I've tried several of their offerings and will say getting gelato in your chimney cake is key. You can have them layer the Bavarian cream with gelato, and that's pretty tasty. If you get only Bavarian cream, it's very heavy. Anyway, if you're nearby, check this tasty dessert spot out! read more

This place is amazing. It's the first and only time I've had a chimney cake but I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure how to judge a fried cake kabob thing with ice cream and toppings injected into it but take my word for it, would eat it again 5/5 times. read more

After my sons swimming at Hubbard we decided to walk over. If you are looking for a sugar rush, this IS the place!!! Holy cow. The cookie was amazing. Soft and sweet, the oreo brown sugar cone, oh my! The latte was really good! Cute decor, European. Freshly made right in front of you. Nice people. Very clean. They are not accepting cash at the moment, due to this craziness. Must try! read more

This is the 3rd time I've been here and it's been nothing but positive. This place gives me a reason to come to Paradise Valley Mall even though it's dying. If you want to taste homemade dough, fresh toppings, and excellent cream/ice cream, this is exactly the place to be. Do not hesitate to give this place a try, i promise it will not disappoint. For those who love savory like me too, order the Havarti Cheese/Jalapeño chimney. read more

Wow!!! So good. What a unique dessert spot. Had a cone with gelato inside (the "Barcelona") that I split with my wife. It was plenty for two. Also a cinnamon roll to go that was really go. read more

Went on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm. Ordered quickly and noticed four other couples sitting - three were waiting on their food. It ended up taking 32 minutes to get our two ice creams. Thirty two minutes for ice cream!!! The older gentleman and younger girl behind the counter were bickering back and forth about the online orders they were making. It was honestly a bit uncomfortable. Several delivery drivers (Uber Eats or the like) started coming in and were waiting on their pick up orders. Once we got it, it was good but definitely not great. The cone was piled with ice cream (the menu says gelato but it comes out of a soft serve machine and tastes like Dairy Queen) and whip cream. This made it impossible to get any of the doughy cone off until the ice cream was gone. The dough was not able to be ripped with my fingers and I had to pick up the dripping mess to eat it. As you can imagine, putting cold ice cream into a warm dough cone causes a lot of liquid at the bottom. I can't fathom what a sh*t show this place would be when it's actually busy, like on a weekend. Without excellent food, it wasn't worth the wait for us. We will not be back. read more

If you can get there before they run out of ice cream, and chimney cakes it's worth it. Because they run out so easily I give them a 3 stars. read more

Absolutely fantastic!!! My wife had been wanting to try this place since they were on Tatum. Covid hit and they were gone. We had dinner in Chinatown for dinner and wanted dessert. Wow. Just wonderful! The Biscoff was my favorite! Not too sweet and the cake butter lining the inside was perfect. The Ice Cream was so creamy and rich. And the cake with the cinnamon was to die for. Crunchy on the outside to hold up to the ice cream but soft inside. You can't go wrong here!!! Bravo! Kudos! Don't change a thing!!!! This place is not to be missed! read more

Such an amazing unique dessert! There are ice cream and Bavarian cream options. The Hungarian pastry serves as the "cone." We tried two, both were DELICIOUS. I advise taking people here from out of town, because they won't be able to get these anywhere else! Great customer service too. I'll be a repeat customer. read more

Ok this is the best surprise I've had in a long time. My wife and I stopped by after a friend posted this place on Instagram, and we saw it at PV Mall in Phoenix. We opted for a regular sized, with whipped cream and strawberries, since we were sharing. I could have eaten it all by myself though! Really excellent, and friendly service. The cashier walked us through what to order our first time out. We will most definitely come back and try other flavors! read more

When we walked in I could tell things were off. Really basic space, not fun ambiance or decor. There were lots of people sitting in random chairs just waiting. No one had any food. We placed an order and were told the chimney cakes would be made fresh and it would take 20 minutes. To get an ice cream cone? Why wouldn't you come in an hour early and start cooking? Do ice cream stores make the waffle cones as needed? No they make them before you order. I watched the woman making the chimney cones and it looked very time consuming and labor intensive. It took over 45 minutes to get two cones. I almost asked for my money back but we had come specifically to try this out. Not worth the time or money. The cone is tasty but that ice cream is not gelato. It's basic McDonald's soft serve and not much of it. Disappointing. Save yourself the money- buy a donut, flatten it out, add some quality store bought ice cream, some chopped up Reese's, a squirt of chocolate syrup and that's it. You're welcome. read more

These are so delicious!!! My boyfriend and I tried the cherry pie one and the biscoff!!! They're warm and soft, crunchy, and creamy!!!

The food is great but it seems like they're never open when you need them. the last 3 times I tried to go they were closed. It's 113° outside but we have to wait till 4pm to get served most days? Make it make sense. read more

Literally the worst dessert I've ever had. Shockingly sweet yet flavorless. Impossible to eat when served in a cup. Cake made fresh yet not warm, hard as a rock and flavorless. Wouldn't break apart so left with huge bites of nothing but the gross filling. I was laughing at how bad it was. Threw most of it away. read more

Very disappointed! My daughter found this place on social media and we were excited to try it! We waited about 10 minutes to order which was no problem. We then waited 25 minutes (which is crazy for ice cream) and I hear my name called and go to pick up our treats only to be told that they overestimated and they ran out of dough! We waited a total of 35 minutes for nothing! Very disappointing! I get it, you run out, but you honestly didn't know this a few minutes after the order was placed?!? We were not the last customers and we did not come right before closing time! I don't know if others after us got their orders or if they were told the same thing. The price was very expensive too! Not interested in trying out this place again for the same service, experience and price! There are plenty of other ice cream shops in AZ! read more

It was so good!! So delicious and a fun, unique treat! I tried a classic cinnamon sugar cone filled with half chocolate gelato & half Oreo Bavarian cream. YUM!! It's served in a cup so it doesn't get too messy. The chimney cake itself is SO good, kind of like a thin brioche donut hat you can unravel like a cinnamon roll. It was worth the lil drive for me to check out a neat place like this, I love trying new desserts. Lots of parking (and indoor seating, once dine-in becomes available), I recommend! read more

Deliciously decadent! My best friend recommended AZ Chimney Cakes to me and specifically mentioned their Bavarian cream. I got their Munich, a cinnamon and sugar pastry filled with Bavarian cream. They had fancier combos but this one just appealed to me. AMAZING! I literally never had better cream anything. The cone was almost like a churro. They're very filling but I'm eating the leftovers now and it's still good LOL! The cones are made fresh to order so you do wait 8-10 minutes. Worth it though. I chatted with the owner and she makes the cones, the Bavarian cream and the oreo cream herself. read more

We stopped by here on a trip based on the photos and uniqueness. The pros were it definitely was a fun idea, and the cream that they put in was delicious, huge variety of flavors. The con was that ours was kind of raw inside, once we cracked through the crispy exterior it was a bit of like half cooked pie dough. Also, something to keep in mind is that it takes them quite awhile to make your order, we weren't expecting that and we were in a bit of a hurry. After 10 minutes of waiting I asked the ETA and we were informed that it was still going to be another 10 to 15 minutes. I told them we were in a rush and I do really appreciate that they bumped our order up, but be prepared that it might take awhile to make. Would I go and try it again, yeah probably! read more

Very friendly explained the history of Chimney cakes and Gelato vs Ice cream tge Chimney cakes were delicious.

This place is phenomenal and the staff is amazing. We've ordered from here multiple times but on my most recent visit Evelyn and Mariel were particularly special! We came at closing time and it seemed pretty busy in the store but they still managed to be very intentional and hospitable with their service to every person. Evelyn especially went above and beyond and was so kind and patient with us. Thank you both so much. This is exactly why we keep coming back!! The first time I had the cream in the chimney cake it was not what I expected but it was still fantastic. The cream is very thick and creamy almost like a whipped cream cheese texture? The chimney cakes themselves are literally INCREDIBLE, and I could eat one everyday. The bakery cinnamon rolls and cookies are also delicious and taste just as good, if not better, the next day. Thank you so much and we look forward to enjoying more chimney cakes! read more

We recently visited this establishment. That plaza it is located in was next to dead due to covid. It was Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy which was nice, allowed us to enjoy the treat then and there. There seems to be quite a variety of things to order from, but I ordered the Zurich and my husband ordered the Munich. We waited about 10 minutes for our order which was freshly prepared. I will say prepare yourself, these treats are quite sweet...may even want to pack your tooth brush. The cone itself was dipped or dusted in cinnamon, not crunch like a ice cream cone but has texture. There was a whipped cream on top, buttery like which was good and topped with an Oreo. Finally, the cream itself was delicious but very rich. I was able to eat the top whipping cream and just a few bites of the actual cream due to it being sugar on top of sugar, granted I knew what I was getting into but it was just too much for me. The reason I am giving this place a three star review is because of the dishonest workers. Both my husband and myself got thirsty while enjoying the treats. So my husband went up to get a cup of water and was told due to covid they weren't giving out cups of water...ok? I'm thinking it is 115, we just came out to enjoy your place, just spent the money for two chimney cakes and included a tip, and can't get a simple cup of water? I then approach the counter and ask again and then someone, I am a was a lead, says we can't give water because we have no filtered water. I ask were is the water source they drink from and she says they just grab a bottle from the refrigerator that they sell for $2. Hmmm...again ok. So it went from because of covid to no filtered water, either way I won't be visiting this place again. read more
