This place was incredible! We found them off Instagram and are so glad we made the 30 minute drive to check them out! You can build your own cookie or get one of the recommended flavor combos. We made our version of a "cowboy cookie" with chocolate chips, walnuts, and coconut, then topped it with ice cream, Nutella , whipped cream, and chocolate. Two adults and a sugar fiend toddler were able to split it with how big and filling it was! Atmosphere was so cool and inviting, it's gorgeous inside. After "Doom Scrolling" on TikTok, i found out about this spot, I had to check it out in person tonight and wow, I'm so glad I did! Honestly, I almost thought I was in the wrong place at first because the signage is a little small, but don't worry, it's definitely there and absolutely worth finding. We chatted with the owner and learned that while TheKindCookiesBar has been open for about two years, they took over the business earlier this year in February. She was super friendly and down-to-earth, the kind of person who makes you feel right at home. Everything here is made in-house, including their cheesecakes (yes, cheesecakes!), and if you're not sure what to order, they're great at helping you decide. We went with a "BYO" cookie loaded with Cap'n Crunch, white chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, and a caramel drizzle. The second one was the "Cookies & Creme" topped with ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and mocha drizzle. Everything is made fresh, so it took about five minutes and when they came out... OMG! They looked and smelled incredible. The first bite seriously blew me away. I expected something like a BJ's Pizookie, but this was 10x better. You can taste the freshness of both the cookie and the ice cream, baked perfectly with that gooey center and just the right amount of crunch on the edges. It was the kind of dessert that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it. By the time we finished, we were this close to ordering another one to go! If this place had a more visible location, I think it would be nonstop busy because it's that good. The best part is they're on DoorDash, so if you're not in the mood to drive out to Mesa, you can still treat yourself at home. I've only lived in Arizona for a year since moving from Orange County, and honestly, I wish we had something like this back in California. I came here around 8:30 on a Saturday. It's just in a little strip mall area not near any downtowns so I figured it wouldn't too busy but we barely got a seat and the line was almost to the door the entire time we were there! That being said, the line moved pretty quickly and our cookie came out fast. I think this place has a lot of potential. The idea of a make your own pizzookie is awesome and the cookies were DELICIOUS!!! The workers were all super friendly. The ordering process was a little disorganized. They have so much variety and different combinations of cookie skillets. I ended up with the plain cookie base with chocolate chips pecans and caramel. Like nothing can go wrong when you're choosing your own cookie toppings and getting it right out of the oven with a big scoop of ice cream *chefs kiss*. I came here with friends on Sunday night and they were pretty busy. We looked over the menu and it was pretty simple to understand. One of the guys working saw us staring at it and he proceeded to tell us how it all worked. We ordered three cookies. One "cookies and crème" and two chocolate chip. We sat down at one of the empty tables and we then got up to pay. The lady who we paid with wasn't too friendly and was talking to one of the guys while we were paying. My total came out to be $7.50 for one cookie, not bad. The cookies looked promising and we excitedly dug in....... Umm EWW. The cookies were warm and the mixture tasted weird and had more of like a cake-y texture then that of a cookie. The chocolate chips had barely even melted and the rest was far from hot. My friends "cookies and crème" cookie looked more like a white chocolate chip cookie... this was no cookies and crème. Her white chocolate chips weren't even melted, smh. The only saving grace here was the vanilla ice cream. The inside is painted in some weird colors and it didn't look too clean. We saw one of the employees pulling his pants up while he had his gloves on and didn't bother switching them out. Not sure if we came on an off night or whatever but this a hard pass for me. We ended up throwing them away... Go to Oreganos if you want to taste a great pizookie.
