Fun partially hidden bakery located in Chandler next to Zia Records. The bakery is halloween themed all year, but they did mix in Christmas decorations for December. It was such a unique and interesting vibe. I got the Mexican hot chocolate cookie and the peppermint chocolate chip cookie. Both were delicious! The light hint of cayenne in the Mexican hot chocolate cookie was a great touch, and the texture of the cookie made it feel like you were eating both a cupcake and cookie and the same time. The chocolate peppermint cookie was strong tasting and remememberable, I would definitely recommend it. The bakers and cashiers were extremely nice and conversational. Spooky's Swirls is such a unique bakery, I'm so glad I finally had an opportunity to stop in and check them out! They're located in the Paseo Del Oro shopping plaza in Chandler. Lots of parking available, they have all of horror themed baked goods that you can think of! A small/donation based museum is also located inside with a lot of cool, creepy things. They even had ghostbusters playing. So fun! I decided to try two of the cupcakes. One was the Pumpkin Sam which was pumpkin flavored with chai, and it was great. I also tried the Red Death red velvet cupcake that was delicious too! I don't think you can go wrong here. They also had their very first magazine issue for sale that listed spooky things to do in Arizona and included a free cookie coupon! I can't wait to read it and learn about all the creepy things Arizona has to offer. This place is definitely worth checking out! read more

I personally love this spot! As a big horror fan I can't get enough of the themed treats & like trying to stop by whenever I am over in Chandler and they are open. They offer delicious treats featuring characters like Ghost Face, Slimer, and more plus slices of cake, biscotti and more. Gluten-free guests will be happy to know they are a gluten-free bakery. Alongside their delicious treats they also have some products for sale like earrings, mints, etc. and they have a collection of horror themed props in the store that you can check out while there. Everything in the store ranges in price, but everything is labeled clearly. There are so many delicious sweets to select from, you'll have a hard time trying to leave with just one thing. Sometimes products that are gluten-free can taste a little off, but that wasn't the case with their treats. Everything was sweet and had a lot of flavor. I also loved the little designs on a lot of the products. They do have quite a few products that are staples of the bakery & won't get swapped out, but they do also rotate through other products featuring different movies and themes so there will probably be something new each time you stop by. The mini museum is pretty neat as well, they have a decent number of props, replica clothing and more on display along the walls of the store. As an added bonus they also have a small selection of products for sale including horror themed earrings, hair clips, mint tins, and more. Year round spooky treats for all ghouls & goblins! A perfect location as it's situated across the way from Terror Trader- another year round Halloween decor store. Upon entry, it's very bright with many spooky props throughout. I was expecting it to be a bit more darkishky gloomy being a Halloween themed shop. It took a while to even be greeted & acknowledged by any staff at the counter & I was the only one in there. She seemed rushed as she was making a batch a cupcakes, & clearly could tell she may have been having an off day..it's okay though, don't we all?! The goods: They've got a pretty good selection of options to choose from! You'll find yourself having trouble on what to pick and choose as everything looks so tasty, or you could go bold & buy it all!! I ended up getting 2 "monster"choco chip cookies, "Chucky" shortbread cookie, Cookies & Scream cupcake, & Raspberry "Final Girl" cupcake. Cookies & Scream: Oh.My.Gosh. This was incredibly delicious. It's a chocolate cupcake with a large mountain glob of cookie n cream frosting, which is then coated in a gooey good chocolate dip, and adorned with an edible "ghost face" and knife. This was a cool spooky spot with all gluten free treats! My kids and I were in the area and they love horror movies, new and old. I love bakery items so it was a win win! Lol The customer service was friendly and willing to answer any questions on any dietary restrictions. I've had 2 amazing experiences at this restaurant. Particularly this morning when, the second I walked into the store to pick up my online order, the front desk girl greeted me and said, "don't worry you are safe here". That was the biggest sigh of relief. I have a gluten allergy and I've never felt more comfortable entering a kitchen that wasn't my own. The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the cookies are excellent and I'm sure when I come back for the other menu items, those will be good as well. Hit Spooky's for some delicious desserts! When you walk in, they have so much wonderful horror memorabilia from movies and TV shows. They also had Pet Sematary playing on the TV which was nostalgic and fabulously creepy! The shop is small but there is some seating inside or take your treats to go. They had a large assortment of cookies that were decorated. Then they had a whole case full of different themed and flavored cupcakes with names like cookies and scream and death by chocolate. My son absolutely loves the red velvet. They also have fresh soft pumpkin rolls with a creamy filling that is out of this world. So I've been here one other time and it was only for an online pickup. And I will say, it's one of the best bakeries I've been to. They are open to the public to come in to buy delicious treats and look at their cool little museum of movie props and such. We've tried a couple of different things. In the past our favorite was their cinnamon rolls. 1000% if they have them in stock, get them. It was soooooo good and I want them over and over again. This trip I got the betwix'd (it's like a sandie cookie with homemade caramel on top and chocolate drizzle, so tasty. Even out on all the flavor. We also tried the Kahlua Cannoli. My lanta was that so yummy. You can see the pics of them I took before we ate them . The lady there at the counter was super sweet and nice and makes me wanna come back again for sure. Now if you didn't know from the name, they base their treats and a lot of their memorabilia on horror/scary movies. Or some iconic scenes too. What they had in shop was really cool to look at and my husband who's a big fan of the genre loved seeing the difference props. I know they also use you get horror movie actors to come in and do meet and greets and signings as well, if they do, check them out. If not, still check them out. They are just a cool and awesome mom and pop treat shop that I would get from weekly if I could! read more

Spooky Swirls never misses! I've thoroughly enjoyed everything I've tried from this bakery. They have rotating items and some that stay every week like the cinnamon roll. The decor is spooky year round and there's lots of fun stuff to look at (and purchase! lots of little horror charms and earrings on display). All the workers I've interacted with have always been incredibly friendly as well. I highly recommend trying this place, both to those on a gluten-free diet and otherwise :) read more

Spooky's is pretty much a dream... horror props plus delicious baked goods?! What else could a ghoul ask for?! I decided I needed a fun treat after visiting Terror Trader (across the street) and I ordered the peanut butter and chocolate dessert, which was delicious! It was a hard choice as all the treats looked amazing (some could say that the scariest thing is choosing only 1 thing to order!). The staff is also super sweet and welcoming! I have been wanting to come here for a long time but I live an hour away...well today I had some business sort of nearby so I finally got to try it! I was scared because it was 2:40 in the afternoon and I didn't know they close at 3 but the selection was still great and the staff was so nice. I have been gluten free for three years and I consider myself a fairly skilled GF baker (I was a baker BEFORE my diagnosis) so I am hesitant to buy GF items out in the wild because in my experience it's been hit or miss (half the places in Los Angeles are all hype, overpriced and not very good for example)....but I was so surprised to see the reasonable prices and I literally just inhaled the mummy cupcake in this picture and it tasted as good as if I made it myself for myself with no holding back That doesn't sound like the best compliment but in my world it absolutely is. I don't watch horror movies much but I do like spooky stuff/Halloween vibes. And of course, I love baked goods as well. They have quite a few things to choose from, I got a mint Oreo brownie to bring home and share with my husband. The brownie is so good, you wouldn't even know it was gluten free. I've been wanting to try Spooky Swirls for months because of its fun Halloween theme...and then my husband found out he couldn't eat gluten, and my hopes of visiting vanished. Only for me to find out this place is 100% GLUTEN-FREE. We tried it today and it was so yummy! We got a mounds brownie and a pecan bread pudding- both were absolutely delicious. I am bakery obsessed and I can eat gluten- you couldn't even tell it was gluten free. Everything looked so delicious. They had cookies, brownies, cheesecake, cupcakes, donuts, and pastries- all 100% safe for my husband to eat! The girl working was also so sweet and helpful. Hard to believe that I hadn't heard of this gluten-free bakery until now. My daughter and Mom both have celiac. The bakery's Halloween theme is cute and prices are reasonable. We got a 4-pack of mini-bundt cakes for $12 and a fruity pebble donut. I don't recall the price of the donut so it wasn't high. I much prefer to drive here than risk cross-contamination at "Nothing Bundt Cakes" since my Mom is ultra sensitive to gluten. Spooky's does make birthday cakes if you order in advance. read more

I arrived at Spooky's Swirls just ten minutes before closing. Came here at my wife's suggestion as they have gluten free everything. It is a small place but what I'm told is a very busy place in the morning hours. Coming here at almost closing didn't give me much time to really give it a decent review. Take it from me, even as we were leaving customers were still coming in which is a sure sign that it is popular. I didn't get to taste their baked goods since what we bought was for someone else. Knowing that they were not denying any customers after the closing time of 3 PM says a lot for the owners. The place is very well kept and well organized, and has a nice friendly atmosphere to it. We will return and I was reminded that a while back we did taste one of their cakes and it was delicious. It is located in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Elliot Road and Alma School Road in Chandler. If you are by here stop by and buy something for the one in your family that needs a gluten free treat. read more

A lot of cool options to try from flavor and design of different horror movies characters or themes. Got 2 Cookies and Scream, killer cotton candy, and a carbonite. All very good. All together excluding tip and including tax it came to $25.40 for 4 cupcakes... ouch. I get that they are a small business and they need to make a profit off of the product they sell but $25 for 4 cupcakes are a little steep. Spooky Swirls is an incredible horror-themed bakery shop. Not only is it a bakery, but it doubles as a free horror museum. They also always have a horror movie playing on the TV (today it was Hocus Pocus 2). So many things to view here and such creative and expertly-crafted cupcakes. Reminds me of the crazy horror bakery items on those Halloween Wars tv shows. It's been a few months since I was here last but it's nice to know they add new cupcakes from time to time to keep things interesting. Went here for my 32nd birthday, I always wanted to try it out. It was awesome! The cupcakes were beyond delicious! The staff were so sweet, and even gave us candles! my husband had the bloody good red velvet cupcake and I had the German chocolate Feratu cupcake, they were packed with flavor and super moist.
