Food was pretty good it seems the quality of the food has slipped. We mainly go for the great service and cheerful attitude of the staff. I would like to point out the one of the best waitresses, I believe the call her red. Her skills are unmatched and her stories are the best. So, if you do go to Nick's I would ask to be seated in Red's section her service is the best and tap your glass on the table and tell her there is a hole in your glass. read more

The breakfast is really good! The staff in the morning is great as well! Even the coffee is good, but the lunch and as the day goes on is not great. Food takes a long long time and is poor quality. I recommend this place for Breakfast only. The quality after that makes it very over priced for what it is and the service. The breakfast tho! The breakfast is to die for!!!!! I have had everything on that morning breakfast menu it's great!!! The waitresses in the morning are in a great mood and full of awesome personality. Nick's Diner II. If this Nick's Diner is related to the old Nick's Diner I in Sedona, it has the most unbelievable key lime pie and Custard pie. Every time I've eaten one of those slices of pie I had to have ala mode as well. The food is like Mom used to make and the menu is sure to have something you remember from your past. We will definitely eat there on our Anniversary this month. It's that good a diner. read more

What a great place! We stumbled on this place coming home from a dr appointment. We knew right away when we saw all the people walking in this was going to be good. We came for breakfast. The food was very very tasty and the portions were large. The service was outstanding! Friendly, fast and Debbie really took care of us. This is by far my most favorite breakfast place to eat at. I have lived in El mirage for some years and the one thing that has stayed consistent is Nicks. From day one till today it continues to serve delicious food and in a speedy manner, the waitress are always nice and helping. If driving by here I would recommend for you to try it. read more

We went to Nick's Diner II for a family dinner. I was told it was a great place and I read reviews about this place. I was not disappointed. We got there and it was busy but the wait for our group was about 15 minutes. We didn't even wait that long. Not long after we were seated our waitress Debra came for out drink order and came back super quick. She was so friendly and patient with all of us and whenever we requested anything she was happy to help and brought it back fast. Empty drink cups were quickly replaced with new ones. The food was really good and a large portion. I got he spaghetti and meatballs which Debra said was really good. She was right! The fork cut right through the meatball and the rest of the dish was delicious. This place was well worth the drive out. Everyone working there was very friendly and seemed they really enjoyed working there. Debra is a great waitress and really takes care of her customers. If you're lucky to have her, you'll be well taken cared of. I will for sure come back here. read more

Need I say more? Wow was this cinnamon roll killer. The service was great and fast. I got the chicken fried steak and my girl got the corned beef hash. They were both very good. Took the kids this morning for breakfast. We'd never been here, so figured why not! No wait at all which was nice. We sat for 10+ minutes before the hostess had to tell our waitress we were waiting. To which she replied "oh $***! Oooops!" We ordered & w/ in 5-8 minutes the food was out already.....?! I ordered the biscuits & gravy. Blah! The gravy tasted like straight milk. No flavor at all. The biscuits were 1/2 way decent. The pancakes my son ordered were clearly made prior.....waaaaay prior to us ordering. They were rubbery & tough. He got 3 sausage links to go w/ them. They were under cooked. Our waitress came by only once & never offered to refill our drinks. Hopefully this was just an "off" day for them. May try again - not sure. read more

We enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The servers are always nice and the bussers are on it, walking by and clearing old/dirty plates. Which is appreciated since we have little hands constantly trying to pull stuff off the table. It's always packed though, and at least 3 times now I've tried to get something on the menu and they were out of it. Maybe a shortage? But they were different items at different times. Nick's has the best food, served very quickly, and it is reasonably priced. The service for me has always been outstanding and if for some reason you did have an issue, you can usually find Nick right there, sometimes he cooks, a lot of times he just greets the customers. (before the pandemic he would walk around to each table). If you see him say Hello! He is always very friendly but he also runs a tight ship. One comment about the kitchen. If you go there for breakfast (on the weekends get there early or you will be waiting) you will place your order and before it seems physically possible, they will be bringing your food. It is not some pre-made, out of the box food either. This is hot, fresh, good food they make to order but they serve it to you very quickly. (Waitresses are all great, treat them well, leave a big tip) Don't sleep on the corned beef omelette! I ain't that mushy garbage out of a can. This is made with homemade, fresh corned beef and it is spectacular. It is also huge so you may want to split it unless you are pretty hungry. (I never share it and just eat the whole thing but wanted to warn you). Go to Nick's. Why are you still reading this. read more

I havent been to Nicks Diner II since they moved to this new location. Nicks always has a solid food selection and the food is usualy on point taste wise. Pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food that is given to you. Be prepaired to wait to be seated on weekends though, Nicks can get packed. Our server Robin was great making sure I had fresh coffee and making sure we were ok without being to intrusive. The menu has a variety of diffrent options consisting of american and greek cuisine. There is usualy something for everyone. The two prior locations that Nicks diner was at were very small and the wairing area usually spilled outside. Not a big deal unless its Summer time. Nicks really made an effort to make a bigger waiting area to accommodate the amount of hungry customers waiting to get in. I really like ciming out to Nicks for breakfast and look forward to returning. P.S. I have yet to try it but they have a HUGE cinnamon bun that is only avaliabe on Sundays. After reading the reviews, I am very disappointed in the food. For those who said the country fried steak is good or the best they had in decades, you need to get out more. This one was a frozen steak and the gravy was a mix. That's not a good one. It should be hand breaded and fried. It's not hard to do The potatoes were frozen and the pancake was horrible. It was not fresh. The scrambled eggs tasted like powdered. The menu brags on everything being made from scratch, but most things are not. In fact, almost nothing on our table was. I don't understand the high ratings-some people just don't have a clue.. There are much better options not far from here. We won't ever eat here again. read more

What a nice hometown restaurant! The inside looks really nice. Newly remodeled. Even my 12 yr old commented on how nice it looked inside. The staff are super friendly. Our waitress was quick to get us refills and very personable. The menu covers everything from breakfast to dinner. I was impressed when they brought out the food. The portions are ginormous! And the food tastes very good. We had appetizers as well but I forgot the pic. It was very good. All in all, I think we've found a favorite. read more
