Wanted to try something new, wasn't disappointed. Nice place and great service. I got #17 veggie omelet ( sub broccoli w/spinach n add jalapeño), hash browns and multigrain toast (extra.10). I believe it's homemade grape jam w/coffee. My coffee was always filled, they also have French vanilla creamer ( my go to). $18.74 total. It's in the heart of Sun City/West (Camino del Sol area). We were out in sun city west running an errand early Saturday morning and wanted to stop to get breakfast. Decided to give this little restaurant a try. All the staff we interacted with was very friendly. The food was subpar to par. The subpar was the eggs Benedict. Hubby immediately smelled something off as soon as it was placed in front of him... Like a sink full of dishwasher type smell. I immediately knew it was probably the hollandaise sauce. He sent it back and they asked if he wanted to order something else but his stomach was completely put off after smelling his original breakfast. He didn't want to trust anything after that. The manager came over a few minutes later and said that she eats the eggs benedict all the time and it is her favorite and the hollandaise is made fresh daily. But then in the next breath said that she went to check on the sauce and said it did smell off...so she threw it out. My biscuit and gravy tasted ok. But not better than what I could make at home. The teenager ate most of his corned beef and eggs, hashbrowns and about half of his pancakes. I tried I bite off the pancakes and they were tough to cut and chew. Sign of over mixing of the pancake batter. Hubby was pretty disappointed and said it is just another reason and sign that we should just eat at home. read more

I saw someone post about the smash burger here so I wanted to try it. Sun City mom and pop kind of place with a decent amount of seating. We picked a booth and a waitress brought us menus and drinks. I had to show her a picture of the burger because they don't have smash burgers listed on the menu. She told us about the specials board they have up front that we didn't notice and offered several suggestions. I ordered the smash burgers no lettuceor tomato. My husband ordered the #16 omelette that had turkey, bacon, green chilis, tomatoes, and cheese. The omelette came with hash-browns and choice of toast, pancakes, or tortilla. He got the pancakes. We also shared a biscuit to try their homemade jam. My smash burger was delicious. It was juicy, flavorful, and topped with chopped bacon and onions. I would definitely order it again. My side pick was French fries that were nice and crispy. They have a lot of side options. My husband's omelette meal was a lot of food. The pancakes were delicious and the homemade jams were wonderful. The omelette was ok but definitely needed a bit more seasoning. The biscuit was also just ok but the jam definitely bumped it up a notch. This is one of those places that has lots of regulars and the wait staff stops to ask them how they're doing or notices a new hair cut. I love those kind of places because they are rare nowadays. I didn't know they had sweet potato fries here, but the waitress let me know and I decided to try them. They're so delicious. Deep fried hot and tender. I asked for a large cup of ranch to come with them and it was super good. I also tried the cheeseburger for the first time and it is a very good and simple burger. I have been to probably six different Diners lately trying to find "The One!" I yelped many diners in this area and stumbled across Hole 'n One. The place is conveniently located in Sun City West near the end of Dysart Rd. They are at the end of the strip mall with plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I found the dining area to be pretty modest, with mostly golf decor and the dining area maximized for seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In reviewing the menu, I do like all of the great selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a lot to choose from. I was there at lunch, but I felt like the Liver and Onions on the dinner menu. So that is what I ordered. They allowed hash browns for my potato and a salad for my side. I thought the salad was fresh and loved the sweet pickle twang of the thousand island dressing. But what won me over was the Liver and Onions. Of all the others that I've had, Hole 'n One had the freshest and best tasting. I ordered a bowl of brown gravy to smother it in and OMG! I appreciate the Hole 'n One serving a complete Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey with gravy was excellent and the meal included mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, stuffing and pumpkin pie. They're in Sun City West we visited there cause my wife and I saw on the website. They had four stars. I'm not sure where they got the four stars from maybe from the sky or paid for them. It's definitely for the retirement community. I ordered liver and onions the liver was good. The onions were good my wife ordered chicken fried steak sandwich Sando not good at all frozen food from Costco. Fish was very good and fresh. French fries were the cheapest ones they could buy and way over cooked Price was way too high for the quality of the food served. Servers were all very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed Hole 'n One. It's been hard to find a diner type place that's good in the Surprise area. This place checked everything we were looking for. We were there for lunch, but you can do breakfast if you like. Service was fantastic. Our drinks were kept full and we like the open seating during slow times. Re-discovered this place after about a 20 year hiatus. It is as good as I remember it. Not fancy, just great service and food at a reasonable price. Coffee and iced tea are exceptional. I was out to lunch a few days ago and ordered the cold turkey sandwich with bacon and my mom had ordered the cold turkey sandwich with no tomatoes and bacon. The order came out and it was like the cook didn't even bother to read the order. We just moved to Arizona about a month ago and we immediately started looking for a breakfast spot. Several came up when we googled restaurants near me. We tried this one, then we tried a few others, we kept coming back to this one. Hubby is hooked on the biscuits and gravy. Seems that's all he orders now with a side of bacon. I trade off but mostly get the bacon and egg breakfast with toast and their delicious homemade blackberry jam. The service from the bus girl, who gives us a smile and let's us know what booths are available then automatically brings us water and orange juice right away, to the wonderful, friendly and very attentive Waitress Sheri is top notch.
