I've tried many Korean BBQ spots in the DMV area so I already had an idea of what to expect. I decided to host my daughter's birthday dinner here. They were able to accommodate a large party of about 18 people but it would've been nice if we had more than one waiter to help out. Most of the party ordered the unlimited option A which worked out for us. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and they were playing the World Cup games, however, the service was slow at times. The price was decent but I am not a fan of the way kids prices are determined. It's not by age like other places I've been but it's done by height. Even the smallest child I know didn't qualify so most of the kids were charged adult pricing. Please note: this is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking but spots can fill up quickly. I decided to walk over from campus and order two different bowls to try one with beef bulgolgi another with spicy pork. I enjoyed both and felt like they were a hearty serving, definitely more than I expected for the lunch special. Service was great, friendly and pretty fast. The ambiance reminded me of a typical Honey Pig KBBQ feel just with a comfier waiting area with some reclining chairs, rocking chairs and couches. This was my first time trying this type of restaurant. I must say, cooking my own meat at a restaurant will take some getting used to but overall, I enjoyed the experience. I think $38.99 is a fair price for all you can eat. I like that the portions are small so too much is not wasted. This was also my first encounter with the delivery robot. That was cool. I don't like that it has other people's food on it though. I was sitting close to the kitchen so my food didn't have to travel too far but, I wouldn't want my food traveling across the room and making stops at multiple tables before getting to me. I'm from the South and I need a bit of flavor so I did add Salt and Pepper to the items while cooking. The salad dressing had no flavor. I ended up using the yum yum sauce as a dressing. The dumplings were good. The cucumber salad was also good. My favorite hot item was the steak and shrimp. The brisket was mostly fat and the thin pork belly was like Prosciutto. My only suggesting is serving the noodles closer to when the hot items are ready. They get stiff if they just sit. Oh, and I think you need separate tongs for seafood, pork, chicken, and beef. We went for dinner around 6:00 pm on a Sunday with a party of 10. We were split between two tables, but honestly, service never skipped a beat. We waited briefly to be seated, but that was only because a few people from our group were late. Once we were in, everything moved smoothly. We did AYCE Option B ($36.99), and it was 100% worth it. The extra steak options alone justify the price. Meats highlights: Spicy pork belly - this is the reason I come to Korean BBQ. My favorite every single time. If you're unsure what to get, start here. Spicy pork bulgogi - the surprise of the night. Big flavor, great spice, and the thin cut of pork really held up to the marinade. If you're ordering bulgogi, this is the one. LA Galbi - excellent, flavorful, and absolutely worth upgrading for. Beef hanging tender - smaller cuts that took seasoning really well. A little sesame oil, salt, garlic sauce... chef's kiss. Steak - lean, but not my favorite. Even with seasoning, it could use something to help break down the connective tissue. Hawaiian beef bulgogi - fine, but there are better options on the menu. Spicy octopus - this one's on me. We didn't cook it well, and by the time it came up to temp, most of the flavor had run into the drip tray. I like a good char and caramelized sugars, which didn't happen this time--but I'd try it again. Sides were on point: kimchi, steamed eggs, stir-fried fish cakes, cucumber salad, pickled radish, japchae, fried dumplings, and seafood pancake. The fish cakes are still my favorite--I honestly don't even know what they are, but I get them every time. Kimchi and cucumber salad never miss either. Drinks were solid too--Sapporo beer and peach-flavored rice wine, both did what they were supposed to do. Service really stood out. Our servers were on it--grill was changed twice, drip tray about three times, and they were proactive without hovering. They worked as a team, made sure food kept coming, and even reorganized plates when things got crowded. Ventilation was great too--the vent drops right over the grill, so smoke was never an issue. The space was surprisingly not packed, noise level was moderate, and everything was clean. Seating worked well for a large group. Parking is pay-to-park since it's right next to the UMD campus, but it was easy. We paid on our phones inside the restaurant, though there's also a kiosk outside. I like this location slightly more than Ellicott City because you're more hands-on with the cooking, which adds to the experience for me. Would I come back? Absolutely. If this Honey Pig existed when I lived in College Park, I probably never would've left. read more

On a mid-week evening I decided to take my foodie talents here because why not! Parking is tough, it's a college town and well it's always busy, get ready to download another app and pay 5-8$ for parking. (I'm old enough to remember when parking was FREE.) The set up is giving CUTE! The service was fantastic! Now in my humble opinion, the food was just okay. I didn't like it at all and ate just a little of everything to taste it. I won't get into it because it just wasn't good to me. The shrimp was the only thing I did like and I've definitely had better experiences at other Korean BBQ spots. HP is so dear to my heart cuz Back in the days my hubs and I would come to a HP (Virginia one or Germantown) for date nights or when he returned from a long work trip... back then food was so so but the vibes were always on point.. Love love love. Did I say love? You just need to come here. They have 2 options for AYCE and option B is the best of course. Come hungry! I love how they have comfy sofas for you to wait for the rest foe your party to show up. It's a fun spot, friendly for couples, groups, or even on your own! From the appetizers, you gotta try the fried dumplings, seafood pancake, corn cheese, steamed egg, fish cake, japchae, and all the pickled items. Actually, just get 1 of everything! The honey pig sauce is my #1 although their yum yum sauce is much improved and don't forget the simple sesame oil with salt or the ssamjang. Other kbbq spots have tried to make their own HP sauce but it's just not the same. Be prepared to cook for yourself although it is kinda fun and communal. Our favorite meats are the hanger steak, beef brisket, bulgogi, and thinly sliced pork belly. Honorable mention is the spicy pork bulgogi. Had an amazing time here! The all-you-can-eat for $30 is a fantastic deal given the huge variety of options available. Every cut of meat we tried was delicious, and the food quality is top-notch. The service was excellent--the waiters and staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. It has a warm, inviting ambiance that makes it a great spot for a gathering with friends. I've been a fan of Korean cuisine since way before it became cool, but somehow managed to skip the OG kbbq chain, maybe due to the tepid reviews. But when they opened a store in College Park with AYCE, that knocked down some hurdles, so I gritted my teeth and braved the congestion on a Sunday when the voracious parking enforcement takes a day off to pray instead of prey. The store is located in the old open shopping center, across Route 1 from Ledo's. Fairly small for a kbbq joint, dark walls, TVs galore playing kpop, but at a moderate volume. Hoods over the grill at each table, so you won't go home smelling of kbbq (not that's necessarily a bad thing). Several differences from many such places: no tablet, order from your server. No sauce bar, 3 are on the table and others may be ordered. Many sides that are often upcharges are included, for instance pancakes and steamed eggs. You also have to order bahn chan from the server, and delivery is quick and cordial. Meats are still ordered from the server, but delivered by a robot. Take them off the tray, and tap the button to send it home. The good: solid kimchi, buckwheat noodles, and pickled radish. Barrel stool seats are a lot more comfortable than they look. Service is quick and cordial. I will note that they never offered to change the grill. The Bad: the Meats just didn't have much flavor. Of course, I've been spoiled by upscale places like Chadol. Tables are small. My solo selections filled 2/3 of a 4-top. The Ugly: bulgogi was poorly cut, I had to use the shears. Thick pork belly had a lot of gristle. Spicy pork belly, which should be meat candy, was blah. This place is clearly dumbed down for the student market. It might be a suitable first stop on a Korean style pub crawl, like the unlamented MeatUp. I wouldn't return just for the food. Merely OK. read more

The restaurant is experimenting with later hours going until 12am, instead of 11 like it says on the website, which is awesome. The experience is more hands off by the staff and that allows you to have more control of the cooking and prepping process. I found the service to be attentive and quick when needed, and the food to be delicious and portioned well. There are two menus to choose from, with one being priced at $32 and the other for $40. The differences are the quantities and qualities of meats and whether or not they are marinated for long periods of time. Despite what I was expecting based on the rave reviews, I was underwhelmed. I found the table and crowded despite their only being two of us. It was also very smokey after the first time that we used the grill. As far as the food, it needed seasoning of, at the very least, salt and pepper. Sauces do not replace basic seasoning to enhance flavors. On the plus side, the robots were cool and the food came out quickly. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. My first visit! The food was delicious. I enjoyed the kimchi pancake. I order it more than 2 times. I'll definitely try the seafood pancake next time. The location looked clean. I will say our waiter was a bit chaotic. She took long to return to our table and forgot many parts of our order. There is a 90 minute limit so the longer service takes the less time you can have to cook and eat your dishes. She offered us crayons and a balloon but never returned to give it to us. We would especially come here after a night of drinking cuz it was the only place besides yechon that was open 24hrs at the time. Then eventually, competition started popping up like weeds. Some would be more upscale and offer better quality meat. And others would be AYCE. And honey pig started to lose appeal (to me at least). Now Korean bbqs are ubiquitous, they're basically in every city/town. I eventually stopped going there and over the course of the next 20yrs to today, I've seen them EXPAND. I would think to myself like ," damn mamasan crazy, who still goes to honey pig?" So recently, this location opened near work, I usually come to this area to get lunch. Then I saw a sign for TOGO cupbaps!!! I was like this is actually what the doctor ordered!!!! I can't think of any Korean bbq spot that offers these!!! DONT TAKE YOUR KIDS. I love honey pig, and I'm sad to write this review about this location. Unfortunately we won't be returning. My family and I go here all the time, but they've recently changed their kid policy. My kid is short, barely eats anything other than lettuce and is 8 years old. they told me that because she's over 3 feet tall she will be charged as an adult. ummmmm what! Genuinely have no idea how this place has such high ratings. The interior was cute and the servers were nice. That's about all the positive things I have to say. I went alone so I ordered mostly sides which I figured would be small and two meats: corn cheese, steamed egg, fish cake, rice, brisket and thinly sliced pork belly. The fish cake came first and was weirdly sweet, but ok, I thought, maybe just not my cup of tea? The brisket was fine, nothing special--although I disliked 2/3 of the sauces I was given to dip it in. Also surprised by the lack of banchan here, I've never had to ask for kimchi... The pork was gross. Maybe it would have been better marinated, but I could not finish it. The streamed egg was somewhat bland, but had these carrots and peppers inside that somehow made it worse. The corn cheese came in this diabolical little tray, that was basically a sprinkle of canned corn with gross clumps of room temperature cheese. Honestly I would rather go to Firepan in silver spring even though I'm not crazy about their food either. I would not come back here. read more
