No pressure. Just real, helpful information. When I came in, that same feeling continued. The shop itself is clean, bright, and welcoming--nothing like the typical auto repair environment. Nathan (Rick's brother-in-law) was at the front desk and immediately made us feel comfortable. Friendly, genuine, and incredibly helpful. Before recommending anything, he opened up my key and inspected it to confirm it wasn't just a battery issue. That alone told me everything--I wasn't being upsold. They were actually trying to help. Then Rick came back from lunch and did the same thing again, just to double check. I paid a deposit and they said they'd call once they got the key from the dealership. It took a few days. Even though they were short-staffed they week of my FOB order, Nathan handled everything with professionalism and kindness. He called three different dealerships to track down my key (since it was out of stock everywhere), coordinated the order, and made the whole process seamless. On Sunday, August 23, 2026, I began experiencing difficulty turning the steering wheel of my truck…read more Monday at 9:07am I called Delgado's Auto Service and spoke with the manager, Juan. At first, he told me to bring the truck so they could look at it. He then changed his instructions and told me to bring it in the following morning Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. The next morning, Tuesday, I arrived at approximately 8:15 a.m. The owner George was waiting for me. He told me that he had 50 cars to work on and instructed me to return in two weeks. I explained that I needed the steering problem repaired and that waiting two weeks is not acceptable and too long. I asked if he could give me an appointment or, alternatively, return my money so that I could take my truck somewhere else for repairs. I was shocked when he told me that he would not discuss returning my money unless I first removed the review I had posted back in April 25, 2026 about the visual marks on my truck (my truck had footprints on the bumper and a dent with grease). These issues were extremely concerning, especially because I had brought my vehicle to this business expecting professional service and care. The owner stated that I had a one-year warranty on the repair and parts. However, I believe he is attempting to push the expiration date forward rather than properly address the problem that occurred after the repair for the steering. I asked him to provide me with an appointment or put his statements in writing, he refused and said that he dose not do that. When I took out my camera to record what he was saying, the owner quickly walked out through a side door. I asked the receptionist to tell him that I wanted to speak with him. She returned and told me that he would be out in a minute- the owner never came back. While I was waiting, the receptionist accepted a walk-in customer, minutes later she schedule an appointment for a customer on the phone for service on Friday. At the same time, I could see the owner walking around inside the repair area. Since I was waiting without the owner coming back, I went to the open service bay and mention to him that my family had been bringing our vehicles to his business for years and that he had made money from our continued business and loyalty. So, instead of treating me as a valued, long-time customer, I was treated with disrespect and as if the steering problem was to cost him a ton of money. The steering problem is the result of that day (4-25-26) where the work was done careless or of an inexperienced worker. His workers caused the problem as to why I brought my truck back. Yet the owner refused to inspect the vehicle, provide me with an appointment, or return my money. The cost of the steering repair was $890.00. Since the repair was completed 4 months ago, the owner could have considered refunding a prorated amount. However, the cause was due to the repairs being of poor quality and not properly completed. With the owner's refusal to professionally address my concerns to get the problem resolved in a reasonable amount of time, I respectfully request that this matter be taken seriously and that I receive an appropriate resolution, including consideration of a refund for the $890.00 I paid for the steering repair.

Boltz Automotive read my post and reached out to me letting me know what time and day they would be available to look at my vehicle and do a diagnostic on my vehicle for $150 and let me know exactly what work needed to be done and the $150 would go towards the repairs if I decided to have service completed through them. I would say within 24 hours of making the appointment for the diagnostic to be performed on my car and actually bringing it into the shop to be serviced. My car was complete and ready to drive again. I am very satisfied with the work that was performed on my vehicle. The staff at the shop is also all very friendly. 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend the shop to everyone with any car issues. The price I paid was amazing and I'm a super happy customer.

I initially brought my car in for what I understood to be a fairly basic issue. Despite this, I ended up waiting approximately 10 days to get my vehicle back. I understand that automotive repairs can sometimes take longer than anticipated due to parts, scheduling, or unexpected complications, but the length of the delay did not seem reasonable given the nature of the work. More importantly, communication throughout the process did little to make the situation better. My biggest concern was the way the repairs and pricing were handled. The cost changed significantly from what I had originally anticipated, and work was performed on my vehicle before I had given my approval or consent to the additional charges. I was not contacted beforehand and given a clear explanation of the proposed work, the associated costs, and an opportunity to approve or decline it. Instead, I was essentially informed after the fact that the work had already been completed and that I was responsible for paying for it. The final pricing was also extremely high, especially considering that I had not authorized the changes before the work was performed. As a customer, I expect a repair shop to communicate clearly about any additional work or significant changes in price and obtain authorization before proceeding. Finding out afterward that the work had already been completed left me feeling as though I had no meaningful choice in the matter. Unfortunately, my interaction over the phone made the experience even more frustrating. The person I spoke with came across as unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and confrontational when I attempted to discuss my concerns. Rather than acknowledging the lack of authorization or trying to explain the situation professionally, the response was essentially that the work was already done and therefore I had to pay for it. The tone of the conversation made an already frustrating situation considerably worse. I am willing to pay a fair price for properly authorized work, and I understand that unexpected repairs can arise once a mechanic begins inspecting a vehicle. However, customers should be informed of those findings and given the opportunity to approve additional work before being charged for it. Between the approximately 10-day turnaround time, the unexpected and excessive pricing, work being completed without my prior approval, and the unprofessional communication afterward, I was very dissatisfied with my experience at M & R Auto. Clear communication, transparent pricing, and obtaining customer authorization before performing additional work are basic expectations when trusting a business with your vehicle. Never had a service tech apologize up front for the cost of a repair... a couple of years ago they basically replaced my entire suspension (Chicago streets....) and service tech suggested to reduce the cost to only replace the worst components right now and delay some less critical components for 6 months because they could last a little longer. I asked him to just replace everything right now. But again, when's the last time a tech put thought into balancing cost vs value for you? Can't recommend the entire team at that garage, enough.

I provided them with the information requested and was sent a text with the estimate. I then asked about the Costco 15% voucher and a time to bring the car in for repair. Their responds was I needed to bring the car in to the shop for a physical inspection to provide an accurate estimate. I brought the car to you on Friday May 14, 2026 asking for the estimate on the trailing arms and inquired about the dash board lights. They asked for 2 hours of time to prepare this. I received the estimate for the repairs along with an inspection report and quotes for 17 other "issues", I did not request an inspection of any kind. When I return to retrieve the car and finalize the repairs I ask a couple of question, first will they honor the Costco voucher and timing to have the repairs completed. Here are my challenges with the transaction, I had temporary access to these estimates and was locked out once I paid the fee of $81.00 ($77.,25 actual debit transition), your website states a free estimate but you charged me and then restricted my access. The garage has a deal with Costco to take 15% off the total bill but when asked I was told you would take 10% on part and 15% on labor. The texted estimate was $1610.00 prior to me asking about the Costco discount and the realtime estimate was $1750 as I recalling only being able to view it prior to lockout. Most concerning was your raid silent when I called to follow up on Saturday as requested by you, I called around 8:30 AM , followed up with a text at around 11 AM and another at 2:15 PM and as on this email there has been no response. The work has been completed by another garage and its is worth pointing out in this review it was completed at a cost of 1/2 what Logan Square Garage was going to charge me. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST, it is a money grab.
