Amazing service throughout the club, always attentive and well kept. Dress codes are required and safely keep everyone appropriate in the community.

I enjoyed the stay except that the rooms should be cleaned better and they should remodel to update the look. Elevator was not working and there was a cockroach in my room. The food was a hit or miss. Service at the different event spaces was really good and the views are beautiful!

I stayed at Ocean Reef for an extended period of time and found the club to be very nice. There is a ton of amenities at Ocean Reef including two tennis facilities, two golf courses, a Fishing Village with a variety of shops and stores, Buccaneer Island and a variety of restaurants. I'm a competitive tennis player who plays in many tournaments and I found the tennis facilities to be very nice. The Racquet Club, which is a private club is very nice and has a large amount of Har-Tru courts. They seemed to be well cared for, but they were fairly dusty because of the Florida humidity and heat. The Tennis and Health Club at Ocean Reef, which is open to the general public has around 10 Har-Tru courts as well as a couple of pickle ball courts. There are a variety of great food options at Ocean Reef including the Islander, CH Prime and the Burgee Bar. There are plenty of more casual options too including the grill at Buccaneer Island and Reef Treats, which sells a variety of dessert items including ice cream and chocolate covered strawberries. I particularly loved the chicken fingers and fries at Buccaneer Island. They chicken was tender and the crinkle cut fries were crispy and tasty. Ocean Reef has plenty of other activities including a Rec Center wwith video games, some pool tables and some ping pong tables. It seemed to be very popular with many of the kids. There is also a nature center at Ocean Reef with some small animals and a 75 pound tortoise. I love animals so that always nice! Many of the restaurants, houses and other attractions including the tennis centers and pools are far away from each other, which requires you to have a golf cart. Luckily, Ocean Reef has them available to rent. The entire Ocean Reef Club is secured and there are security guards at the front who check you in. There is also a police force and fire department at Ocean Reef to keep everything and everyone safe and in order. Altogether, Ocean Reef Club is a really beautiful place in the Florida Keys, which provides a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

We are gusts visiting Ocean Reef for my wife's birthday / our "babymoon"... we've had a great time here. The weather hasn't been the best, but there's nothing we can do about that! The staff are really accommodating and this club is definitely very exclusive. The pool area is great and has a large bar with waiting service. I also was able to use the spa and go out on the golf course - Both were great experiences! I'd highly recommend this spot!

Excellent stay and experience. The members and staff alike were very welcoming and friendly. A few staff members that stood out were Kristine at the rec center, Superman and Molly at Buccaneer Island. Andreaux at the Scavenger Hunt was amazing. That kid is a work-a-holic and always there with a smile and willing to assist. The condo we stayed in could use some upgrades but it was very pleasant overall with nice views. The food at the restaurants on property was very good also. Yes, a little pricey but totally worth it for the service and the ambiance. We ordered room service from Gianni's and the food and service was outstanding. Will definitely visit again if I get invited.

The grounds itself are gorgeous but the service is subpar. Pools, docks, and rooms were very nice and clean. Our issue with more so with the food and service. I'd say 80% of our food here was just mediocre. The best food was from the patio restaurant by the pool called Palm Court. Unfortunately for the extreme prices you pay here, service should be exceptional and all food on the property should be well above mediocre. We played a round of a golf and that cost almost 500$ for one guy. For these prices I expect much better service and for that reason I wouldn't be inclined to return.

The view

We stayed here for a week and it was wonderful. A few things I think are ridiculous though. First we ate lunch at an open air restaurant on the water with gorgeous views but they would not allow my husband to be seated and served because he was wearing a tank top, yet several women were wearing tank tops as well as just bikinis with body parts hanging out were seated and served but he had to either wear a dirty smelly long sleeve collared shirt they offered or he could go back to our room and changed. Why??? I guess you don't want to see men's armpits but don't mind seeing women's breasts and butts hanging out. Stupid!!! Pool areas are beautiful, love the enforcement of the rule for adults only pool, thank you!! Yoga on the beach was fantastic!! Bartenders at the circle bar in the middle of the pools and lagoon make terrific drinks!!! And the fish tacos...some of the best we've ever had. Some of the servers ate so nice and friendly and some are rather snobby, I guess that's normal Gift shop is on the small side but still had a nice little selection

Loving this place... In town for a conference and thought this was going to be a "club." It's a small town with shops, medical center, shopping, marinas and even a small private airport. It seems there is something for everyone here...pools, beach, golf, fishing, diving, and I'm sure there are more. It's easy to get to...about an hour from Miami International Airport and easy to find. Headed south on 95 and made 2 lefts. There is a bridge that has a $1 toll, wanted to give you a heads up on that. You don't need a wallet; all purchases, at least within the club, are done using your room key. Including tips. The room is amazing, see the pix. I'm on the first floor so I have a patio off of my room. Spent the afternoon reading a book while nursing a Diet Coke. Amenities in the room, Nespresso coffee machine, yoga mats with some light weights and the coconut lime toiletries are really nice. Free wi-fi...currently "yelping" outside the conference room. The property is large so you may want to rent a golf cart but I'm finding that some things on the map aren't as far as they seem. Haven't really found anything negative, if you've read my other reviews I can really put places on "blast." I did hear one comment...the pool was too warm...hey, it's Florida. The beach is nice and has shaded areas for those that combust after 15 minutes in the sun. There is a little lagoon that isn't connected to the ocean, seems like a good place for the kids; not really sure of the depth. While I'm here by myself, I'd rate this a good place for families to visit. If you want to venture off the property and head south to the lower keys, this is a good jumping off point.

General - My family stayed here for one night while we were driving through the Florida Keys for…read moreour winter getaway trip in January 2025 (crazy enough, winter followed us and we enjoyed mid 50's in Key West, sheesh). Location - The hotel is right off of Interstate 1 and in the middle of Key Largo. You are just down the road from a Publix, shopping center, and a number of restaurants. John Pennecamp State Park is really close as well. Rooms & Building - The hotel is going for a retro tropical tiki vibe. It is probably not for everyone but I digged it. Rooms are spacious and offer the typical Hampton Inn layout. The grounds were not like typical Hamptons though, well manicured and full of beautiful tropical plants. This location had a much more Hilton resort vibe without the resort price. Amenities - The hotel had a small beach area that overlooked the ocean. You can borrow kayaks to take out on the water but it was so windy the day we were there, you would have no luck getting anywhere (we watched a poor couple try to no avail). There is a pool with a pool bar but everything was so cold, it was closed and the pool was somewhat uncomfortable to swim due to the temps and wind, so we passed. Food - Pool bar was closed but we did enjoy the free breakfast buffet. Typical Hampton Inn offerings including make your own waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and an assortment of continental offerings. My kids loved that there was a ton of toppings (including key lime syrup!) available for the waffles, we made some pretty crazy combos. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It was more than what I normally would pay for a Hampton Inn at $240 a night but the Keys are spendy during tourist season. Too bad it was so cold it didn't feel much like it! Oh well, our MN luck. Weather aside, the property was nice and it would have been cool to utilize the water sports and water area. On a nicer day, I feel like these would be great bonuses to the property and added value to the stay. If I'm back in Key Largo, I'll give this place another view.

It's a little confusing at first, but you catch on pretty quick. There is a great beachfront area with lots of lounge chairs to watch the sunrise or sunset or just feel like you are right on the ocean. There are several great restaurants and stores to shop around here. Oh, and let's not forget the warm cookies when you arrive! Just like all Hamptons, this place offers an amazing breakfast offering for free. Everything from homemade waffles to scones. The lead attendance name was Norma and she was so passionate about her job and about making people happy and keeping the area clean and tidy and stocked. It was a pleasure meeting her!

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

I loved the great variety and alcohol free beverages. I appreciated the adult only pool as well as the happy vibe of the family pool. The world soccer cup was going on and the excitement could be felt in the on-site bar. The hammocks, the chairs in the water, the beautiful views and rooms, the grounds, beautiful. I loved the fun free E bike and used it every day. I was disappointed only by the fact that you couldn't take the kayaks and the paddle boards out into the ocean and wish that had been advertised better, but that would be my only even slightly negative of this fabulous experience. I wanted to do a shout out to again to Rochelle and Natalie for the care. They took when my fridge malfunctioned and ruined my items in the fridge to go above and beyond and replacing them. I did the paint night as well and loved connecting with other guests, while laughing about our lack of artistic ability. The teacher did a great job of making everyone feel comfortable and confident. I can truly say if I return tequila Largo, this would be where I would stay every time

Our daughter was recently married here and we did a full three-night resort buyout. While the property itself is absolutely stunning the nine months leading up to the wedding were incredibly frustrating. Communication was consistently poor--weeks would go by without any response. We were promised a Florida Resident Discount by two different general managers, but it was never honored. (This is a significant discount that we did not get as promised). In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. We unpacked the U-Haul when we got home and had cockroaches in a few of the things stored in the main house.

The rooms are very nice and ours had a walk out patio that could lead us outdoors to wander around the property as with most resorts. The gym has very modern equipment and is very well lit and cleaned and has large glass windows that allow the runners on machines to look out over the pool. There's a kids club that my daughter enjoyed doing projects and seeing other children at the resort. The Playa Largo resort and spa also hosts weddings, as there was one the night after we checked in. The Bungalows felt like a piece of Paradise. When you first…read morearrive, you are greeted by valet staff. Parking is free if you brought a car. We chose to rent and drive from the airport because we had a trip to Key West planned. It's about a 90 minute drive from the airport so, an Uber would have been pretty costly. The valet takes care of your luggage and places it on a golf cart while you check in. The check in process took about 10 min. The front desk staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. They are supposed to offer you a drink, but we were not offered one by our receptionist while the couple next to us were offered one. No biggie. One thing to note: when you book, 50% is due. Then the other 50% is due thirty days prior to your arrival if you switch your source of payment, they charge you 10%. That same card has do be used for gratuity or add ons. Keep this in mind when you plan. Also, they put a $100/day hold on your card when you check in. After check in, the valet takes you on a tour of the property and then brings you to your room. You'll want to have cash for gratuity for the valet. The Bungalows themselves are gorgeous and offer an outdoor area and outdoor shower. I don't think the beach view bungalows are worth the upgrade. After that, you're on your own for the most part. They schedule your dinner, but other than Bogie and Bacall, they are pretty flexible. Fish Tales is the main restaurant. They offer a four course meal. The food was great. I wouldn't say "amazing" but really well done. The service is impeccable. This is an all inclusive bur gratuity isn't included. This was annoying and probably my biggest complaint. At the end of your meal you are handed a check of all you consumed with a recommend range of gratuity. You put in what you want to leave and sign it and leave. The issue is, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending. So if you're on a budget, that can be a problem. At night everyone gathers around the tiki bar to enjoy the entertainment. There is only one bad and it fills quickly. The bartenders are also filling drink orders for the pool, and in some situations, Sea Seniors next door. You can also order food at the tiki bar if you choose. It's basic bar food and pizza but quite delicious. There is live entertainment daily from 11-11. There was trivia one night, and karaoke another. But there were no real events offered. In the mornings everyone heads to Fishtales for breakfast. There is a good variety of choices, including a buffet. They do not change it up at all though. So it can get a little boring day after day. They also have a mimosa and bloody Mary self serve bar. Pro tip, bring your own yeti and take two plastic cups of minosa and some ice and put them in your yeti for the pool. There are no drinks served until 11 am at the pool which was pretty odd in my opinion. The tiki bar also doesn't open until 11. It was off season but I will say that the pool didn't really get busy. There are two pools. Ok is a zen pool with little cabana beds. It's more quiet there but the main pool was described as the party pool and he was really chill too. There are about 12 pairs of lounge chairs and umbrellas and two big cabanas with couches. It didn't seem like there would be enough but it ended up to be plenty. We w They have servers come around the pool but it takes quite a bit to get your drinks so pack your patience. They also give you a bill at the end with what you ordered and suggested gratuity. It was easy to forget and just leave so I hated this process. I would have rather been charged a daily gratuity to be split between the staff but that's not what they want to do. Bogie and Bacalls: you get a free night there if you stay for more than 4 days. If you don't it's $300 plus gratuity. This was their high end restaurant and it wand spectacular! You get a ton of food and premium drinks. Expect to tip about $100 here. There is an indoor bar/speakeasy called Hemingways. This is not included in your stay. It's premium cocktails and liquor. There is also the "Family Room" which is a giant indoor/outdoor game room. There are no servers there. If you have a yeti, you could grab a few drinks from the tiki bar and keep it cold. There is a huge TV so we were able to watch the USA game on it with a few other guests. I chose to get a massage. It's a beautiful area of the park but there's no way that 50 min massage was worth $300 + 22% gratuity. They offer water activities. No one was using them. There are some other ads ons but very few guests chose to do them. Overall this is a wonderful, very chill spot and I can see why many guest come back year after year. I wish there were more dining and bar options, and more events offered. The cost was pretty high for what they offer. But we had an amazing time and I'm so glad we did it!

- Disappointing Stay, Misleading Photos, Poor Response from Management…read more My wife and I stayed in the La Palma Suite for her birthday getaway. We chose this property based on the photographs shown online and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Unfortunately, our actual experience was very different. The biggest issue was that the room we received did not reflect the condition portrayed in the photos. While it appears the property may have been renovated years ago, much of what we found showed significant wear and deferred maintenance. Some of the issues we encountered included: * A bed that creaked loudly with virtually any movement, making it difficult to sleep. * Shower water that never became truly hot and had very low water pressure. * Mold or mildew buildup visible beneath the sink rim and inside the sink overflow opening. * Rust and corrosion on bathroom fixtures. * Upholstered furniture that was stained, worn, and damaged. * A closet door that would not properly close because it was off track. * Exterior areas that looked noticeably different from the photographs used in advertising. * General cleanliness and maintenance concerns throughout the suite. After reporting the bed issue, management acknowledged the problem and offered to move us to another room with a new mattress. We packed our belongings and prepared to move. However, before the move could occur, the replacement room was reassigned to another guest. We were later informed that because we had not responded quickly enough, the room was no longer available. What disappointed me most was not simply the condition of the room, but the lack of meaningful resolution after management recognized there was a problem. Once a room change was offered, I believe it should have been held until direct contact was made with the guest. To be fair, my wife and I still enjoyed our time in the Florida Keys and had a wonderful birthday celebration. The location is beautiful. However, the accommodations themselves did not meet the expectations created by the property's marketing photographs, and management's handling of the situation left us disappointed. I encourage future guests to look carefully at recent traveler photos and ask questions about the current condition of the specific room they are booking before making a reservation.
